I am very happy with everything they did, and would certainly recommend them and/or use them again. A+

Stephen and his crew delivered the promised product on time and with excellent results.

Arrived at 6:45 A.M. on day 1 with 4 men, BObcat and 2-14 yd. trucks. Old concrete was gone by 8:15 A.M. On same day,set forms.placed reinforcing and obtained city inspection by noon. Day 2, concrete arrived at 10:00 A.M. 4 men placed and finished. Could not have ask for a better experience.

The driveway at our late-1970's home had been gradually crumbling since the major ice storm 2 years ago and needed replacement. The driveway has a strong slope from alley to garage, adding to the challenge. We decided to hire Stephen Mickey even though we got one other estimate that was a little lower, because of his responsive and professional approach to the problem and the better construction methods he described in his contract proposal. He performed the replacement on the agreed day, and installed a rebar-reinforced driveway that now looks better than anything else in the neighborhood. If we should need concrete work in the future we will definitely call him again.

I recently contacted Mickey Construction for some concrete work, having had a good experience with his company several years ago. His minimum job rate is $450. The current work his crew did was during the extreme heat of summer, and one problem area on the sidewalk near garden cracked. He tried to repair this crack twice, and each time it returned. He offered a refund of my money (which was subject to a ten percent Angie?s reduction), but I declined, asking him to wait until cooler weather. After waiting several months without a third repair of the crack, I gave up, and asked for the reduced price of $405. I believe that he will pay me back promptly, but the crack still remains. I guess that I will have to hire someone else to properly repair this crack. I should add that you need to mention Angie?s discount when you initially contact him ? he was a bit miffed when I mentioned it later.

Stephen Mickey and his crew did a great job on our driveway and patio. They used the best materials and were incredibly fast. Mr. Mickey was very knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend them for any kind of concrete work..

I left a message for Stephen Mickey requesting information and he called me back within 5 minutes. He came out a few days later and sent me an estimate via email. His estimate was competitive with other bids that I had already received. I chose him because of his professionalism, timeliness - and the reviews on Angie's list. I was not disappointed. His team was able to do the work within the time period requested. The employees were professional and they cleaned up the area very nicely. The enitre process was seamless. There was a large "sinkhole" in my concrete driveway and my first call was to schedule an estimate for the repair of the hole. My neighborhood was built in 1980 and the streets and driveways are beginning to show cracks and holes so this was not uncommon. After getting the estimate I decided to replace the whole drive which had long cracks in several places. Stephen always returned my calls promptly even when on a job and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. His crew arrived a few minutes early on the day of the project and began working efficiently and quietly. The streets in my downtown neighborhood are narrow and the homes are close together. They were always aware of that and managed to keep out of the way of traffic, even when the concrete truck arrived to pour. They finished in early afternoon and did a great job of cleanup when done. I have an iron gate which was dragging and not closing properly and one member of his crew worked on it and got it adjusted without my asking. The finished product looks great and I am happy with it. I would highly recommend this company and my neighbors are already commenting on how good it looks. I would definitely use them again.

Stephen Mickey is one of the best in the business in my opinion. He is a top professional who honors all that he says he will do. He was on time on everything and was meticulous in all details. We were very pleased with the finished product, which was a replacement of our badly cracked driveway to our house. His crew has been with him for a long time and they are very good. They cleaned up everything afterwards to our full satisfaction. He was onsite with the crew almost the entire time (11 hours to do the job), and we could not have been more pleased with his thoughtfulness and attention to everything. The price was also better than all of the other bids we had gotton. I would highly recommend him. He knows his stuff and has been doing it for a long time.

Stephen came to do an estimate and was very helpful with all his suggestions. He clearly knew what he was talking about and said that he would have an estimate to us the next day. True to his word we had the estimate the next day. He was very clear regarding what we needed to provide for city permits and he explained clearly how the process would work. He said that he and his crew would be with us on the Tuesday at 7:00 am and they arrived as scheduled. All the crew were really helpful and took great care to protect all our property and fencing. Stephen clarified what we wanted before commencing and talked with us about a few concerns. They encountered some unforeseen issues, but took care of them immediately, and kept us informed at every point of the job. The old driveway was broken up and removed on the Tuesday, and our new driveway poured on the Wednesday. The crew cleaned up beautifully and Stephen sent a guy to sort out the sprinkler system (which had been disturbed because of changes that were made). He too arrived exactly when Stephen said he would and was delightful. The driveway looks fantastic, far better than the original one. It is so refreshing to find someone who is professional, and follows through on what he promises. I really liked the fact that he was there at the beginning of the job and all the way through until completion. I would recommend this company to anyone - professional,easy to work with and delivered a fantastic product.

I left a phone message about an estimate and he promptly returned my call. We set an appointment and he was actually a little early. Even though it was a relatively small job, he was polite and professional and willing to procede. He was honest about the work that needed to be done. He emailed an estimate when he said he would and the estimate was more than some but less than others; it was a proper, written estimate. I called to accept his estimate and we made an appointment. He set it for a Sat morning because it was a small job and Sat would not interfer with other jobs. This was the best time for me, also. He arrived earlier that the appointment and his crew were shortly behind him. They went right to work and, even though he could not stay for the whole job, his crew was great. They knew exactly what needed to be done and were willing to make small adjustments at my request. He had even agreed to do a small additional area that I had seen at the last minute. It was so small that he agreed to do it for no additional cost. Looks great and I am very satisfied.

Stephen Mickey, owner, came out and gave me his estimate, and we scheduled the work around the planned plumbing project (by In-House Plumbing). Mickey and crew arrived on time and quickly did the demo work. The only problem was that the Bobcat operator did not shield the edge of the old, remaining concrete and took some small "divots" with his front loader. A couple of days later, they arrived on time and prepared for the pour, setting 3/8" rebar in a grid. Then they waited for quite some time as their concrete supplier was late. Just about the time the delivery arrived, I noticed that the crew had not leveled the sand base very well, so that the gap between the sand and the rebar grid was not uniform. It was too late to adjust this. The pour went fine, although I was concerned toward the end that they were a little short of concrete. I don't think they had even a teacup to spare, and that may account for a small "birdbath" swale, in front of the garage door. Stephen had to be away from the job most of the time his crew was getting ready for the pour. Had he been able to be there, I suspect he might have had the crew level out the sand base. I have waited several months to write this review as I wanted to see what effects our Summer heat would have. We have developed one hairline crack, about 6 ft long about 3 ft from an expansion joint. Whether this can be attributed to the sand leveling issue or just the movement of clay soils, I can't say. My review should be read as an A-/B+. My hope is that this crack is not the beginning of serious deterioration.

Mickey Construction did the best concrete job I have ever had. I have engaged a number of concrete contractors over the years, having poured a couple of foundations plus done a good deal of flatwork. Some were pretty good; others not so much. In Mickey Construction's case, they did an outstanding job. I have never seen a crew work so hard. And the finished product is a thing of beauty. They arrived when they said they would be there; the time for the project took exactly how long they said it would; they cleaned up after themselves to the point where I just needed to do a little raking to clean up odds 'n ends; the cost was what was agreed to ahead of time even though they ran into extra work that was unanticipated (from the previous concrete contractor). All in all, this was the best concrete work I have ever had done. I can absolutely recommend them without reservation. ---------- Mickey construcción hizo el mejor trabajo concreto que he tenido. Stephen came by the day after I called to give me an estimate. I received the estimate that night (by email) and told him I would call back in a couple days. I called him a couple days later to schedule the work. He informed me it would be about 3 weeks before he could do the job because of all the rain in the DFW area. I told him that was not a problem and to just call me a few days before he was going to start. The day the work was suppose to began it rained about 3 inches. Stephen called first thing that morning and said he would try again on Monday. His crew showed up first thing Monday morning and was done by noon. The sidewalk looks fantastic!!! Would highly recommend them for any concrete work.

I recently bought a home with a severe drop from the street down to my garage. It was so steep that my car would drag bottom as I started down from the street. Based on Angie's List reviews, I called Stephen Mickey for an estimate. To my surprise, he gave me an estimate over the phone based on my description of the problem and a picture I sent him. Through the whole process he was great to deal with. Did exactly what he said he would at the time he promised. His crew was efficient and did good work. After the job was completed, my car went in just fine without dragging, but fixing the first problem created another...it dragged going out. As soon as I informed Stephen about the problem, he scheduled to have his guys come out again and make it right. No additional charge. I was impressed with his work and professionalism and would happily recommend him and have him back to my place if I needed something else.
