The crew did an excellent job. They arrived on time and exceeded my expectations. The concrete looks very professional. Stephen Mickey was great to work with.

The estimate went well. We had an Angie's List coupon (10% off any job up to $5000).. When we called to accept the estimate, Stephen let us know he had an opening two days later that fit our job time frame. We were more than happy to accept that appointment, because it's the busy season and we figured we'd have to wait at least 3 weeks to a month out. On the day of the work, Stephen called to ask if we wanted our paver stones hauled away or stacked up on the property. We wanted to keep them and forgot to tell him, so we appreciated this. He was very communicative, easy to get ahold of throughout the estimate/work process, and touched base with me during the day of the work as I was unable to leave work. The walkway and patio have cured and look fantastic! Our previous patio was a disaster-foundation cracks, mishmashed concrete, and sinking paver stones, etc. And the walkway was a tripping hazard, uneven from tree roots and shifting soil. The new concrete is smooth, even, and exactly what we needed. The expanded patio gives us a ton more room to enjoy our backyard. Would use again.

Mickey Construction did a great job starting with a quick trip out to our property to survey the task which was followed up with a detailed written estimate via email. The crew was on-time the day of the job. They worked diligently at all times and when they were finished I felt like they had delivered a work of art. They did an absolutely beautiful job and they did a thorough job in cleaning up after themselves. Through no fault of Mickey Construction, they ran into a few challenges which are going to happen when you lift out a 25 year old driveway --- and find "situations" left by others. Stephen Mickey, the owner, was overseeing the job and he remained cool as a cucumber. He simply focused on solving the issues and he and his crew got the job done! I did want to comment on the technique that Mickey Construction used. They did not pound on the old driveway to break it up. They just started at a corner and "peeled" the driveway off using a forklift. So if you have a swimming pool in close proximity (as we did), you don't have to worry about the removal process cracking the pool or causing the ground to shift. More about Stephen Mickey. He has been around the block over the years and really knows his stuff - the technical aspects of his craft. He also went to the City of Dallas to get a building permit without us asking him to do so and the inspector did show up on the day of the job to bless the work. (The cost of the permit was included in the quote.) There's something about Stephen Mickey that makes you want to do business with him, which is a vibe you will pick up on when you meet him. You could also tell that his crew liked their boss. Kudos to him.

I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Stephen and his crew. They were on time, courteous, worked hard, and cleaned up like they were never there. The driveway looks outstanding. I would highly recommend Stephen and his team!!

Having read previous reviews, I contacted Stephen Mickey for a quote to replace my driveway and sidewalk. He got back with me that evening & we scheduled a meeting to look at the driveway. The quote was quite fair and we scheduled the job. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the crew was able to do the job a couple of weeks earlier than scheduled and showed up promptly. They were well organized and worked quite hard to remove the old driveway and sidewalk. One sprinkler line was broken during the demo, but was quickly repaired. The site was ready for the pour when the concrete truck arrived. The concrete was finished with a broom drag texture and looks very nice. The yard was cleaned up at the end of the job, they took all trash with them, and even cleaned the street. Without a doubt I will call Stephen again for concrete work.

Responded immediately to request for estimate. Arrived on time and gave detailed description of what he would do. I noted one review on Angie's list that said that Mickey's estimate was much higher than other estimates, but the price he quoted was in line with two other estimates that I received. It was $50 more than one bid, a few hundred less than another. I liked the fact that he said that he had had his crew for 9 years. That indicates to me that they probably knew their jobs, and that he treats them well so that they want to stay. Cheap, transient labor often do poor work. When I accepted the bid, he set up a date, called when there was a half day delay in the start time [much appreciated the call as many contractors leave you guessing about when or if they are coming]. The crew worked quietly and efficiently.No blasting radios. The driveway was taken out and the new one poured in a two day period. Mr. Mickey was on site for much of the job and dropped by to check when not actually here The finished driveway looks good and he modified the slant of my driveway to fix a drainage problem I had with the old driveway. The crew cleaned up, restored dirt that had been moved, took away all rubble--even checked the grass for chunks. No cigarette buts or fast food wrappers during or after. The whole experience was a pleasure--quick response, efficient installation and a good result. I recommend him highly.

Within 2 - 3 days after contacting Mickeys Construction, Stephen Mickey, the owner, came to our house to review our driveway and sidewalk. The driveway had gradually started to sink around the garage after foundation problems were repaired by another company several years before. Stephen provided an excellent quote to remove the concrete and replace with rebar to strengthen both the sidewalk and driveway. The project itself took roughly 6 - 7 hours. The crew was on time and quickly removed the concrete without damaging anything. After the project was completed, the site was cleaned up and barriers placed to prevent anyone from driving into the new concrete areas. I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised on how everything went. We have numerous neighbors who have asked questions regarding the job and how everything went. Excellent service. Excellent work!

Read above. I couldn't get past him arguing that my email described some instructions which were unintelligible. If he has lots of business and doesn't need mine, all the power to him. I won't hire someone who doesn't know how to listen and prefers to argue. I can't imagine trying to deal with him if there were any problems with the quality of work.

Patio slab outlined w/ brick ribbons. Very professional, punctual, and quality worksmanship. We would highly recommend Mickey Construction! We have recommended Mickey Construction to others who were also VERY PLEASED doing business with them. One friend that did not use Mickey because "bid too high" had a "lower bid nightmare" with installation and quality. They definitely got what they paid for.

When we received the bid back for the job, the price was way out of line being too high! It was an insult to us to think that the guy thought we would be fool enough to pay his quote! We went with another company on Angie's List that was much more reasonable and very good. We would not recommend this company to anyone.

Excellent. The team showed up on time (even before) and finished early. They were courteous, efficient, accurate and very professional and we couldn't be more happy with the end result.

I have used Mickey Construction years ago. They were great. That was like 10 years ago. They did a pretty good job. They coughed the shower and put like a second row of racks in my master bedroom closet. He was doing handy work then. They used to do the job on time and are reliable. They didn't taunt me giving them little extra chores. The pricing was good. This was 10 years ago so I don't know how accurate it is. They did good on the quality of work.

He came out to give us an estimate. He showed up on time, was very professional, price was good. He was excellent and I was very happy with the way he is responding. I would highly recommend his professionalism.

Great service. Good workmanship. Good finishing work (dirt back up to driveway replaced). Did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it. I would definitely use them again.

I was up against a wall as my previous provider never called back after initial conversation. I needed to have this porch removed so the door could be framed and bricked out (the porch covered the bottom three rows of bricking). Mickey Construction was able to turn this job around in 3 days, I honestly couldn't tell they had been to my house except I was missing a porch. Debris all carted away, looks fabulous. Will definitely call again when I'm ready to finish out the sidewalk and start talking backyard patio!

Stephen showed up with his crew on time and began the demo. He stayed there to supervise the process. He's a nice guy and took the time to talk with me and answered all the questions that I had. His crew worked like a well oiled machine, pulling out the existing concrete and setting all the forms and rebar that morning. The concrete truck showed up shortly after that and they were done by 2:00pm. I recommended him to my boss and he replaced his driveway as well and did a great job there. I will use him in the future and would highly recommend him to anyone that needs concrete work done.

Steven Mickey went to great lengths to make work with us to finish the job on a short timetable, and to work around inclement weather. While not the least expensive quote I received, I am a firm believer in a fair price for quality work, and I believe that spending a few hundred extra to have Mickey Construction do this the correct way was well worth it. I highly recommend them for any work you may need!

The whole job was completed without any issues. Stephen told me up front what he would do and I was out of town so I had no idea what to expect when I returned. I was 100% satisfied with the job. He seems to know what you want even when you don't. I cannot wait for my next project with Mickey Construction because he is honest, reliable and it was refreshing not to worry about anything.

They were fantastic. I like the owner. He is on the spot on everything he said he was going to do, and here we are a year later and there is no single crack in any of the concrete. Their price was pretty much the same with everybody.
