+ -1 moreDavid answered my call and, since he was just completing another project, would arrive at my house within a half hour. He arrived on time, was very pleasant, clean, and professional. Because the smoke alarm batteries did not take long at all to replace, he hesitated charging the minimum hour's fee so he asked if there was something else he could do for me to fill in the hour. Fortunately, I had been working in my garage, trying to make room for all attic items. The problem I faced was how to physically achieve this, because I definitely did not want to climb up and down the ladder to the attic. David was the answer, and his organization suggestions were also very good. He brought down half of the items - plenty to keep me busy until the next time I hire him. And I shall hire him again, not only to finish emptying the attic, but for any number of handyman projects that may arise. I am very pleased to have finally found a reliable handyman!
Description of Work: Replace all smoke alarm batteries (one alarm was chirping). Empty storage items in garage attic by one half.

+ -1 moreFAST/ON TIME/NEAT/MADE SENSE WHERE CUTS AND INSERTIONS OF WIRE OR COOK TOP DIMESIONS WERE EXECUTED. AM VERY PLEASED!
Description of Work: THE OLD GAS COOKTOP WAS A PAIN TO CLEAN AND THE 120 ELECTRIC IGNITION WAS INCONSISTENT, SO I HIRED MR.PRATHER TO INSTALL MY NEW GE PROFILE KNOBLESS ELECTRIC COOKTOP. THE KITCHN AREA NEEDED TO BE WIRED FOR 220, SO HE AND HIS ELECTRICIAN NEATLY INSTALLED A NEW BREAKER BOX AND CAFELLY CHECKING CODE. WITH ACCESS TO THE ROOF FROM A NEW GARAGE CEILING PANEL THEY CREATED. THIS WAS FOR RUNNING WIRING UP THE CEILING, INTO THE ATTIC, AND DOWN TO THE STOVE, MAYBE 40 FEET... THEY'D ACTUALLY MADE THIS WELL-CRAFTED OPENING LARGER SO TO BE USED FOR ATTIC STORAGE LATER, ACCESSING FROM THE GARAGE, IF EVER NEEDED. SOME FINE EXTRA COUNTER-TOP (IMAGISTONE tm, surface,) CUTTING HAD TO MADE TO DROP IN THIS NEW UNIT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A 30-IN. ELECTRIC TOP, REPLACING THE SAME. THE CABINET DRAWER BELOW ALSO NEEDED AN INTERNAL ADJUSTED CUT OUT FOR THE PROJECTING LOWER ELECTRIC BOX OF TO NEW UNIT TO FIT. EVERYTHING WORKED FINE AFTERWARDS. SINCE I BOUGHT THE COOKTOP ONLINE W/A 10 YR. WARRANTY, AND FREE DELIVERY, I USED THE MONEY SAVED (ABOUT 300.00 TOTAL) TOWARDS THE NEW INSTALLATION AND WIRING UPGRADE. IT ENDED UP 250.00 LESS FOR THE ELECTRICIAN WHEN COMPARED W/ WIRING I PAID WHEN MY NEW ENERGYEFFICIENT WASHER/DRYER COMBO WAS INSTALLED NEAR THE BREAKED BOX BY MILESTONE ELECTRIC. (THEY HAD BEEN GOOD BUT NOT CHEAP.) IN SHORT, I WILL HAVE THIS HONEST SKILLED MAN, DAVID PRATHER BACK FOR GENERAL CARPENTRY AND CONCRETE WORK THIS SUMMER.
