Overall, despite the fact that my husband and I lived in a construction zone for 8 weeks, we had the best experience with John Cox, the President of Coxco, Art, our project manager, and everyone that came into our house to work. All the work done was of the highest quality (John made sure of that himself with his attention to detail) and the finished project exceeded our expectations beyond what we thought possible. We did hit the occasional snag and of course the inevitable HGTV moments (where you discover some unexpected surprise) but John and Art always made sure things were made right. For example, we discovered that the bay window in the kitchen was sagging outside, with the frame starting to fall apart. They rebuilt the support for the window and it now looks brand new. Also, when the cabinets were installed but didn't have my built-in trash drawer, John made sure it was redone and that I got my drawer. One thing I very much appreciate was that John and Art stopped by the house every single day that work was being done. I also appreciated the fact that everyone who worked for John seems to like working for him, which tells me that he treats his employees well. We didn't set specific timelines for completion of the project to begin with as we told John we weren't concerned about getting it done within any time frame. Rather we just wanted to make sure the project was done right, regardless of time. Nevertheless, it took 8 weeks, which is very reasonable given the amount of work we had done. We also had a little hold up due to the fact that we went with recycled glass countertops, which was manufactured and installed by an outside company. I definitely recommend Coxco for major projects. My husband and I are already planning on another round of remodeling (bathrooms this time) and Coxco is the only company we will consider.

John met with us several times as my husband and I debated over what we wanted to do with the kitchen. His quote was cheaper than a competing contractor and in the end was very close to the actual cost. His workers were reliable and did a very nice job. When small problems arose (as they will when remodeling a 25 year old home), he was willing to go the extra mile to remedy the situation and make sure that we were satisfied. His estimated time frame was also pretty accurate. We are very pleased with our updated, beautiful kitchen!

We had been planning to remodel the master bath eventually, but a leaky shower head forced the issue. We had a plumber out to fix the shower head and he ended up having to knock a hole in the shower wall to replace the shower valve. We had three companies come out to give estimates. John Cox (the owner) did the estimate for Coxco. There was absolutely no pressure. John was very professional and obviously knew his stuff. He gave me all the options, with pros and cons for every decision. He gave me about two weeks notice before his guys came out, and he told me the entire project would take two weeks. His guys were there all day every day but one (when the floor tiles were setting) over that two weeks. The work is excellent and I couldn't be happier. The only problem we had was that the tile on the floor was uneven. I told John of my concern, and after he verified the problem for himself, they ripped the floor out and did it over with no argument. We have a lot of projects that we've been putting off, and before this one was even done we knew we'd be using Coxco for the rest of them. My wife, who was home for the entire project, was very impressed with Joe, the foreman of our crew. She told me to tell John that she wanted Joe as foreman for all our projects.

Damage was significant and I was definitely compromised personally because I office out of my home and time to complete repair was of utmost importance. The company owner, John Cox, personally surveyed the damage and immediately wrote up an estimate, gave me an acceptable start date and contacted my insurance company when he noticed some things that needed repair were not included in the adjustors estimate. He used several different crews to repair and replace sheetrock, texturing, flooring, painting and custom molding and woodwork. I was always notified of who was coming in to do the work, when they would be there and approximately how long it would take. Mr Cox oversaw the project on a daily basis to find out if I was pleased with the progression of the work. His crew cleaned up after themselves and were respectful of coming at an appropriate hour in the morning. Several days they were there after dark picking up nails and screws and hauling off trash from the job. It appears that many of his employees have been with him for some time and that says a lot to me. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the work and the professionalism of the company. The work is now complete. I would recommend Coxco to others and intend to have some additional remodeling using this company in the near future.

It took us a month to get an appointment with John. We scheduled and spoke extensively with the secretary about what we were wanting done. We patiently waited and held off any other contractors we were considering. I loved the pictures of Coxco's work. They were our top contenders, we thought. The day before the appointment they called to confirm and asked what was it we were looking to have done they had no records of our previous conversation. John was to arrive at 9am. My husband had taken off from work and he was on a tight timetable, so at 9:05 I called Coxco just to make sure they had our correct address. The secretary told me John was on his way. My husband and I waited until 9:30 and I called again. The secretary asked me to hold so that she could contact John. She got back on the line with me to explain that John had cancelled our appointment. Needless to say, we were aghast! John did call after we hung up with the secretary. He claims that he called me yesterday and left a message but I don't have a voicemail from him. He said the earliest he could work with us would be 3 months from now. I'm still in shock and disbelief! It sure would've been nice knowing that earlier than 40 minutes AFTER our scheduled meeting. I guess as my husband said its better we find out now how they run their company instead of getting into the job. Our job will be over $100,000.

They were supposed to come out and replaced the roof and my screened in porch needed to be re-screened. My issue was with the customer service which was very poor. It took me over a month to get a date. I had to call the owner of the company to get it. The communication to get the initial data was very poor. The quality of their work was fair and very good. I am happy with the project manager they had on site there. I would not use them again.

Fortunately, Coxco provided us a very timely and reasonable quote; which incorporated several excellent recommendations and cost saving alternatives, including the expert removal and re-utilization of the double sink marble counter top in the master bath. Once we reached agreement on the scope and price, John assigned an extremely competent, courteous and dedicated staff. We were also very pleased with the professional group of subcontractors. The renovation project included; (1) installing custom cabinetry and recessed LED lighting in the master bathroom, (2) new vanity and lighting in the half bath, (3) installing various types of custom flooring through most of the house, (4) all inclusive interior painting, (5) installing a new patio door and new appliances. Coxco also provided a professional cleaning crew after the job completion, making the move into our home much easier. The renovation project was completed on schedule and within the quoted price. Needless to say, we were extremely pleased with the results and have received many positive compliments from our neighbors. We experienced similar results from Coxco following the completion of the roof replacement and other improvements on our previous home. We highly recommend John Cox?s company, Coxco, for roof replacements, home renovations and other related projects.

I first contacted the provider after purchasing an incentive from Angie's List. The owner came out but I decided not to move forward at the time because of the high quote. The quote to repair my roof was far outside of what I eventually paid another contractor. Several months to a year later I called the provider to come out a second time. I needed to get a quote on some additional work. I never heard back from the owner or his company. My experience is that the company's inflated pricing was an indication not to do business with them on any job. Not hiring them earlier seems to be the reason they did not bid on the second job. I found a reputable company who did the additional work to my satisfaction. In the process of finding a general contractor I met with several other companies that were willing to come out and bid on the job despite knowing they may not get the job. Any good service provider is willing to come out and bid on a job realizing the customer will decide based on value, professionalism, and confidence in the business.

Everything went well. When I called the wrong number to make sure they arrived at the same time as my insurance agent, they sent out the owner to ensure everything went fine. When the roof was replaced, they did forget to replace the solar powered vent but only a few days later, they came back and finished the work. The roof does look great and no leaks as far as I can see. The company did not pressure me to upgrade the shingles but when presented professionally with the facts, I did up grade the shingles along with the Golden Package warranty which I am very glad it was done. Now I do not have to worry about the roof for 25 years! All workers were professional and professionally dressed. They cleaned up quite well with only some dirty left in the garage which blew in during the cleanup process. However, they did not have access to inside the garage because we had a family event to attend when the work was completed. Otherwise, they would have cleaned this up too. They were very easy to work with over both the phone or by email. The quote was easy to read and the additional information by shingle upgrade and warranty details was presented well.

Happy with my new roof. Tony came by my house in Garland, by my request, 3 times before doing the work to answers all my questions. The workers were nice, hardworking and completed the job on time and even cleaned up after themselves nicely. My roof is the BEST LOOKING ROOF IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. CoxCo has a happy customer.

They were very punctual. I could not be happier with the level of professionalism and the results. It stays cool now and these guys knew exactly how to get it done and correctly. Coxco's representative, Tony Franklin, was knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. He was familiar with insurance claims. We also met with our insurance adjuster who led us through the process. We chose to upgrade the roof material. Also, the hail damage did not cover the whole fence so we agreed to make the fence finish consistent . Additionally, we chose to replace and paint fascia boards across the front of the house for cosmetic reasons. The original boards had been poorly installed. Coxco then submitted a quote for all that we were planning on doing. We accepted and scheduled for Coxco to start. Throughout, Coxco kept us informed of each step of the work even adjusting the timing because of impending bad weather conditions. Delivery of supplies on the driveway was coordinated to avoid interfering with access to our garage. At each step of the way, Coxco appraised us of progress. It was not necessary for us to be present but it was interesting to watch them at work. The fascia boards were removed, replaced and painted without us being aware. We were impressed with the roof team and their workmanship. Each member performed their task smoothly. The fence team diligently replaced badly damaged boards, power washed and stained the whole fence which now looks as good as new. When it was time to fix the ceiling damage, we requested to have a feature wall painted since the painters had covered all the furniture. This was achieved professionally and the room looks as if there had never been a problem. Overall, we were very pleased with our choice of Coxco.

They are at the final stages of finishing up the work that we have. At this point we've been in interaction with them for about six weeks. I can't say enough good things about them. They are professional, very straight forward, clear and they went in to some unexpected problems, they handled that very well. They followed the projected timelines and things. We're quite happy with the pricing, they're not the cheapest but I believe that you get what you pay for.

John and his team were on time, friendly and very enjoyable to work with. They finished the job on time and on budget. I would definitely recommend!

I would first like to say, if you have an insurance claim for damage to your house, John is an A+ when it comes to preparing the paperwork.. He prepared a 30 page report of estimated damage and measurements, etc. for the insurance company. Everything was really good working with John. I am a picky customer and demand certain things done (triple stain throughout on new cabinets, etc.) which he is familiar with now after doing our last job. We started with just the secondary bathroom and decided to have all the rest of the stuff done too, since everything was going really smooth. They are starting a new job for us on Monday, 12/2/2013.

John was great to work with. He managed his contractors very well. I love my new bathrooms. I will definitely use Coxco again.

John provided me with the options available and explained the pros and cons of each. The job started based on my convenience. Mike (the lead guy) explained to me the steps...they cleaned up after themselves after each days work so my dogs could still use the backyard. It took a day longer but as Mike explains it, "John expects a specific level of high level quality work and detail that it takes abit longer sometimes." John did check the progress every day and at the end walked thru the work with me and even did some "touch up" for me that wasn't part of the original work. He personally installed my new light fixture for the porch (for free). The service and work performed were excellent!

I cannot express how happy we are with the work done in our home. We had several different estimates from other contractors and individuals and Coxco was neither the most expensive nor the least. We felt very comfortable knowing that the owner lived in our neighborhood. We had the opportunity to see firsthand in our neighborhood work that was being done in others homes and we were impressed. I knew how I wanted the end result to look and in our discussions we were were told honestly what would work and what would not work in a construction aspect and also and what might not work aesthetically. We had a few setbacks with the tub and actually had 3 different tubs delivered before we found the best fit for our specific needs and space. This totally ruined the work schedule but they were extremely patient and worked around the delays without any problems. Every person from the Coxco crew is professional, courteous and friendly. They were very careful and protective of our home environment and made every effort to keep dirt, and debris from any other areas. They cleaned up at the end of each workday and every area was neat and orderly when they left. The work was completed in a timely manner and any setback was due to a delivery issue of a product out of their control. They even took time to allow my very curious toddler grandchildren to see what they were doing and engaged them with welcoming smiles and conversation. The workmanship is top of the line and we are already starting additional projects.

It went great overall, except for the day that the floor people went into a room. They shouldn’t have and my dog ran out. The front door luckily safe was found and John did a few extra things form me to make up for it. House looks beautiful. Bob, John and Jessie were great to work with and very responsive. POH !!

In my bathroom they replaced an out of date shower with a beautiful seamless shower plus new fixtures and new sinks. They put ceramic tile on the countertops and tile around the tub area. They painted the bathroom cabinets. My bathroom is beautiful! They also put in new countertops in the kitchen and a new backsplash in the kitchen along with new stainless steel sinks. Mr. Cox was very receptive to questions and was readily available to meet with me when I desired. He is very professional at all times and knowledgable with the entire process. His workmen were on time each day and kept dust to a minimum, which I really appreciated. At the end of the entire process Mr. Cox surprised me with a cleaning service, which totally surprised me. My house looks amazing and I have received many compliments from friends and neighbors.

Initially I did use them and they did good work. The roofing job turned out well. The painting job around the chimney and the wood painted around my garage went well too. I had a negative experience though that left a bitter taste in my mouth. The roofers/labors put a hold in my Air Conditioning refrigeration wire letting all the freon out. The ac system was out of repair for about 2 days, in the middle of summer, in Texas. When I called COXCO GENERAL CONTRACTORS INC and told him about it, he blamed it on the home builder from about 10+ years ago. He said that out of good will, he would send one of his labors back out to re shingle the area that I had already paid for. He then offered to charge me $450.00 to send out one of his subcontractors to fix the Air Conditioning wire. Basically he would not take responsibility for the repair that his workers caused.
