+ -1 moreAlex Childress the general manager was very helpful in explaining the technicalities involved. He also went above and beyond with helpful suggestions and helped me get bids from contractors. Besides Alex, the engineers at Childress (Steve, Andrew, Herb) were also professional and pleasant to work with. I would definitely use Childress Engineering again and would recommend them to anyone needing construction engineering services.
Description of Work: The lot where I want to to build a house at had extra expansive soil that can rise and fall by up to 6" depending on moisture level. A typical slab foundation would be of high risk of failure and Childress helped me find a foundation choice that can handle the soil condition whilenot break my budget. Childress produced 3 different types of foundation design for me to get accurate pricing.

+ -1 moreThe engineer performed a very thorough inspection of our home and discussed all aspects of the report with us along the way. He spent about three hours at our home and we received the report at a later date. We did have to call their office to remind them to send us a copy and they did promptly.
Description of Work: We had received several bids for foundation repair for our home. A friend who builds homes suggested we have an Engineer from Childress come out to inspect our home to determine if we needed any foundation work. We found out that we need had two a moisture issue (the soil was extremely dry) that was causing our home to shift. It was recommended that we needed to install a foundation soaker system on the two dry sides of our home and we didn't need any foundation work. We wanted an unbiased opinion of our home.
