My Mothere was selling her house and it was going on the market in 1 week. I went and talked to Mr. Cheema on a Wednesday and asked if the job could be done by the next Wednesday because the realtor was going to be taking pictures of the house at that time. He told me he couldn't promise, but he would try. The price was a little more than we thought because it was a small job there was some waist of material, but still less than the competitors. I went ahead and paid for the job that day. I received a call the following Tuesday saying the Granite was ready. He installed it that day, a day earlier than I had requested and they did a great job! The house sold the day it went on the market and I will use him to update the kitchen in our home.

We went to Best Granite Countertops location and selected the slabs of granite that we wanted. They definitely tried to up-sell us. What happened was we selected what we wanted. We picked out the slabs of granite. We had the blueprints with us. They measured everything off. The said, "Based on the square feet, this what you need." We paid for it. That was probably about two months before installation. When they came out and installed it, the guy that was actually doing the work measured the physical cabinets, etc. went back to his shop to cut it. Then, we were trying to get them to schedule installation and we never could have get in touch with them in fact they would not answer calls or anything. After two weeks of that I finally got in touch with the owner. My contractor was trying to call them. Finally, after about two weeks, I got hold of the owner of the company and he said, "I am so sorry, but we mis-measured. You have to buy more granite." They measured it wrong and I had to pay for it. They said that the cabinets were not to the original plan, which there was a little bit of a variance, but those variances were in place when the guy came out and measured and he saw the changes. He knew exactly what it was and he said don't worry about it, it was fine. So they up-sell us. There were three different designs. We finally got rid of one of them and got it back, got everything back. We used some scraps for the room, for the laundry room and bought more slabs and we got one more slab, they kind of worked with us that way. They came out to install it and they had cut it wrong. It was not the size for the bar in the kitchen that it was supposed to have been.and we accepted that because we were between a rock and a hard place. We were down range to do the appraisal in two days and we had to have the granite in place. Then, after all that, and I had paid them in full for everything they said, the guy tried to collect for installation. I refused to pay it and he refused to leave the property. We finally got the owner on the speaker phone with us and he said, "I'll talk to you later. You all go ahead and leave." We didn't talk to them again. They did come in and laid it down and installed it. They didn't try to collect more money for the installation but they did do the installation. The installation was good. We were very pleased with that. It was a lot of granite. They had five guys working for nine hours doing the installation. And they did a good job which I like. I did pay for the extra granite, I had to. So then they got it done and installed it and that's when they tried to collect for another fee for installation which my understanding is that they covered with everything we paid. The owner, I know this because he is partners with personal things and we know the person, he travels and he's from Pakistan and there is a lot of cultural difference there. My friend got him on the phone and said you have a problem and we measured it, we didn't have enough granite and we have to buy another slab and he said we made it wrong. He said I am so sorry I made a mistake. It was real black and white. I got upset obviously about it. He said I said I'm sorry. You have to have more granite. That was it. What we did was we put a little bit cheaper granite in the laundry room and I talked him into at the places that would work I gave it back to you. In the kitchen is where they were short. He said you'll have to buy another slab. I did that. And he said he would give me the granite we need to buy once the slabs were cut right next to each other so they match and so we had bought three slabs for the kitchen. He said you are going to need a fourth slab and it will be a different stone, a different granite. Then we only needed about half of it. So we had half a slab of granite left over. We worked on square feet, you take that cheaper granite back and don't use it for the laundry room and put the extra slab that's left over from the kitchen in the laundry room and that's what we did, so we got a credit for the less expensive granite and we got charged for the additional slab of granite. The price was very, very reasonable. One of my clients was doing a remodel and he was showing me his bids he got from four different companies. Every bid that they were getting was in the $20-$25,000 range and we come in at nine which was fabulous the amount but we had some of the problems that we had which was very unprofessional.

A couple of friends have used Cheema to do granite work. They said he was the cheapest they could find, but he was very difficult to work with. I moved into a new house that needed some granite work. I sent Cheema an email in May with no response. I was not in any hurry at the time. I reached out to him again in July via phone and he told me to come into his location. I brought detailed drawings with me showing which pieces I would need. Cheema studied the drawings and we agreed on the amount of countertop that I needed (on a square footage basis.) He gave me his price and I agreed. This was a pretty small job so he was going to use remnant pieces. He showed me a remnant that would work and I agreed. He wanted to send a guy out to take precise measurements of the area. I had to follow up with him a couple of times to get the measurements done. When Cheema had the measurements in hand, they were the exact ones that I had presented him with. The dimensions and square footage were identical. Cheema admitted that he had made a mistake and that the remnant I had picked out wouldn't work. I would need a different remnant that would be more money. Just to confirm that I understood him correctly, I said "So we agreed on the square footage and your guy measured the exact same dimensions that I did, but you don't have the correct size piece so you're going to charge me extra." At that point, he got short with me and we went our separate ways. This guy is the king of the bait and switch. Avoid him at all costs. He may be the cheapest person you can find, but you'll end up paying the same or more in the end.
