Joe was a very nice, professional guy and easy to work with on the estimate. His price is almost double others but he also didn't move furniture or seal the wood or tile floors so that would increase the cost substantially. While we said we would use him that would only be if he were price competitive.
Description of Work: He came out and gave us a detailed estimate.

I have become a woodworker and working in the hot /cold garage was becoming a pain. I wanted a shop that had a/c, lots of light and more space. We interviewed several contractors to see what could be done, it seemed that an extension to the garage would be the best choice. Our garage extended out from the side of the house ( we live on a corner) and it was decided that squaring off the house was the best answer, this would effectively double the garage size with double doors connecting the new shop to the garage. First we met with the designer that gave us some beautiful designs - and lots of options that we hadnt considered in our own assessments. That was a great start to the project. I hadn't considered vaulted ceilings but Im glad we did, because that made such a great difference in the shop. I hadnt considered the effect of the lighting and being able to move lumber around the shop without hitting the ceiling. After going though the contract with a fine tooth comb we were pleased to award the project to Joe Loveridge - the owner of Norman Arthur Co. Joe is a very personable and very professional man that explained every detail before we started - it gave us the confidence to go ahead with the project. The wife and I are very detail oriented people (the wife is a construction defect attorney) and were very pleased with the level of explainations and of the processes that we were going to experience. Joe was onsight every day to explain each step and to make sure that things were going according to plan. I am one of those folks that watched every nail go in - and Im sure I asked every question that could be asked. I wanted to know the whys behind every detail of the project, and I got answers to every question that was asked. This was a great confidence booster as I knew that Joe REALLY knew what he was doing!! It was obvious that this was a very professional company - run by a man that really cared about the quality of the project and the quality of the friendship of the customer he was serving - a true and quot;old schooland quot; professional!!!!!! As in probably all types of construction there were some minor hiccups - but they were discussed at great length and with Joes vast knowledge of construction we collectively decided on adjustments to the building of the shop. Joes knowledge and commitment to a quality product gave us a superior outcome that I feel we wouldn't have gotten with another builder. Am I pleased? YES !!!! Good value? YES !!!! Would I use them again? YES !!!!! If you want a TRUE PROFESSIONAL to build something for you, and you want to have every confidence in what they are doing then you need to talk to Joe Loveridge.
Description of Work: They built an addition to the garage / house that houses my new woodshop. Its beautiful!!!! With large windows and plenty of power outlets - just what I wanted !! It really come out better than I expected!! The shop is 20x25 feet with vaulted ceilings and lots of light and should we decide to convert it from a shop to a game room a door was framed in and covered with sheetrock so that the conversion would be minimal at a later date. That was smart thinking !!

We got a very detailed proposal. They supervised the subcontractors throughout the building process including clean up. They used outstanding subcontractors. The house was built in 1986, they were able to find bricks that matches the original. You would not know this was a new addition unless you were told, it looks like it is part of the original house.. They finished ahead of schedule. This was a pleasant experience.
Description of Work: Design and construction of a 400 sq f room addition with a full bath. In order to bring in AC / heat they had to raise the roof on part of the existing home.
