Claimed that damage to pool heater was caused by rodents. Consequently, home warranty company would not cover any service or replacement. Service man took pictures of area and made the determination of rodent damage without informing me of his findings. I did not know of his claim until warranty company called me to state that the heater would not be covered. Therefore, I had to pay for the replacement. When the heater was removed there was no evidence of any damage other than fair-wear-and-tear. Suspect the technician made a false claim about the cause of the heater's failure which cost me.

I have dealt with Aqua Maid before and as such it was my company of choice for service through a home warranty program. The DE filter repair went well. However, the heater needed more extensive work. Unknown to me the technician took pictures of the mounted heater's base and inner flame bars. When he left my home he said that he would return to affect the repairs saying that the problem was because of deterioration and wear. Much to my surprise I received a call from the home warranty company a few days later. I was told that the repair had been denied because the technician stated that the damage to the system was due to rodents. He neither brought this to my attention nor discussed it with me. Aqua Maid sent copies of the photos to the warranty company. Shortly thereafter I had a new heater installed by an Angie's List highly rated company. An inspection was conducted by this company's technicians and there was no indication of the presence of rodents or other pests. Had the technician been forthcoming with me about the "presence" of evidence of pest damage I would have accepted that fact. Subsequently, I would have probably purchased a new heater from Aqua Maid. When I complained to Aqua Maid about the "underhanded" and devious way my repair was handled I was told that the owner would call me to discuss the issue. I never heard from him in spite of numerous attempts to contact him. In my opinion, Aqua Maid failed in its responsibility to me as a customer. I would not endorse this company.
