Man for Hire

Hired Jason to install a storm door. He showed up to do the job but then just left without saying anything. I assumed he had gone to buy some parts for the install. I finally text him asking when he was coming back but he said he decided to pass on the job. Seemed like a nice guy and I am a reasonable person so he could have just knocked on the door to tell me in person that he did not want to do it.

I filled out the HomeAdvisor questionnaire online. After 30 minutes or so I get a call from someone from Man For Hire. He says he's from there and I just happened to remember his companies name from Homeadvisor. He immediately asks what time he can come out tomorrow but I know nothing about this individual. I have questions about who he is, what does he do, does he buy all the neccessary pieces and so on. A pergola costs around $5,000 and is not something I am going to take lightly. I had already contacted another local company who after a 20 minute conversation answered all my questions. This gentleman I could tell did NOT like me asking anything and seemed offended I even dared to ask. No one is coming to my house after a 10 second conversation and zero questions answered. He proceeded to tell me I should go with another company and get a quote, if I dont like the quote to call him....then he hung up on me. I was not happy. I called him back to see what happened, he said I had trust issues and would not be doing business with me. Im 40 years old and have never experienced customer service like this. Apparently asking questions is forbidden. Unbelievable. Needless to say, this individual should not be recommended for any job big or small of this is how he interacts with his potential customers. Absolutely unacceptable. He will be reported to Homeadvisor as someone who should be removed from the site.
