+ 0 moreArrived on time. Quickly measured kitchen seemed rushed and not interested in my comments about what I would like to see done to kitchen. Stated he would email me the renderings via email. Received email within week. Email consisted of no measurements reanderings lighting or floor information. Drawing consisted of lines on a paper.Sent back request for the design no response so far. Not sure I would want any more dealing with this company. I would like my 75.00 dollars back due to not receiving a custom kitchen design complete with measurements, floor plan design,cabinet design, tile design, lighting design and renderings to keep. I was really dispointed with this purchase.

+ 2 moreThese guys were the best. They had me email them a list of what I wanted done so the right trained employees for the job would be sent. They followed up to set an appointment. They showed up on time, went to work on the project and completed it to my complete satisfaction. I plan to call them for future remodeling jobs. I would highly recommend Carlos Castro and THE EMPIRE TILE AND GRANTE for any general contracting job.
Description of Work: Removed and installed two new bathrooms sinks and new faucets. Also, removed several light fixtures, door knobs and accessories and spray painted them to match the new oil bronzed faucets and re-installed.

+ 1 moreElana in the office was exceptionally nice when I called to schedule an appt for the Angies List Big Deal. Carlos and Luiz arrived promptly (a little early actually) on the scheduled date. Both got to work quickly and did quite a list of small jobs and a big job being changing out clothes rods (new brackets etc) and installing shelves in my Master Closet. I was impressed with the quality of work and enjoyed an easy personal relationship as they worked. I have larger items to be addressed, with Carlos primarily a general contractor, we will be meeting to discuss costs for several exterior and interior projects.
Description of Work: A long list of 'chores' was performed by Carlos, dominated by changing out clothes rods and installing shelves in Master Closet.

Description of Work: Empire tile came out to do an assessment of my master bath. I'm thinking of remodeling and wanted some cost analysis and ideas. They provided me with great ideas and a general idea of what i needed. The only draw backs were the actual plans they sent me. I believe they are a great company but their presentation and overall design schematics need a boost. With that being said i would use them in the future

+ 2 moreAll of the projects were started and completed on time and on budget. The new driveway was torn out and completed in just a few days. When the old driveway was torn out it was discovered that the original driveway was poured without adequate reinforcement in the concrete, Empire was able to address this issue by securing the new reinforcement into the existing driveway to help stabilize the adjacent sections. After the driveway was complete I asked them to rectify the yard next to the driveway since it had also sunk several inches. They raised and evened out my front yard so that all of those areas that had sunk were now level, I also asked them to add a short retaining wall in the front corner of the yard next to the new driveway for landscaping purposed and add giant rocks. After this was complete they began work on the back of the house to tear out the old patio and build a new stone patio with a pergola over the entire patio. All of these projects were completed on time and on budget, if there were any modifications that needed to be made they were very easy to work with to get those changes made and in general were very accommodating whenever I had a question or concern or decided to make a change.
Description of Work: I hired Empire for three projects. The first one was to tear out and replace a portion of my driveway. The original driveway was sinking. The ground below the driveway needed to be raised and stabilized before the new concrete could be poured. The second was to make landscape improvements in the front yard next to the existing driveway, that portion of the yard had also sunk and needed to be raised. I asked them to even out and fill the front yard and added a couple of large rocks. The third and largest of these projects was to tear out an existing patio on the back of the house and replace it with a new, larger patio that was significantly larger than the existing patio, raised and level with the back of the house and included a pergola over the top.

+ 4 moreMy experience with Carlos, Joe, and the Empire team was overwhelmingly positive. I look forward to having them come out in the near future to work in the kitchen. - Trustworthy and Accountable- they did what they said they were going to do, actually a little more. Communication was great, they were always on time or a quick phone call away. This was a 4-5 week job, there were ample opportunities to test this. - Resourceful- We had a budget and a dream, they made it work. We got everything we wanted for a reasonable price. This is one of their best attributes, and what won us over in the beginning. We were originally looking for outdoor flooring options, they put together a package for fencing, drainage, and a fireplace, and helped us create our outdoor living space. - Consultative-They would bring samples to our house and even met us at a stone yard one day to really understand the color scheme we wanted. They then sought good prices for the materials and the results matched our desired color scheme. They also would make suggestions to help us improve our design, but they never forced their ideas on us, we were always able to have the final say and influence on the result.

Description of Work: I had several jobs performed by this company. The first was landscaping. The workers arrived at the appointed time and were ready to work. They had all the tools and equipment to do the job. The quality of the work was very professional and complete. They checked back with me on how they were doing and if I wanted the work done different or if I wanted anything else completed. All in all it was exceptionally well done job.The second job was to break out an existing concrete slab patio that was in sad condition and replace. Again, the crew showed up at the agreed time with all the tools and equipment needed for the job to be completed. The job took several days to complete which was to be expected with each step and phase of the job carefully thought out and planned. The work was completed with beautiful results. I am a retired educator and the greatest compliment I could give this job is that it looked like a textbook example if it was to be published. Each step was laid out clearly and with purpose. It was a joy to watch the job in progress. The third job is on hail damage to my roof. The crew showed up at my home to inspect the damage at the agreed time and talked to me on what I felt was the condition of the roof and how old was the roof. Since I am up in age, they went up on the roof to do the inspection. When they came down, they had taken pictures of all the damage and talked to me and my wife about what could be done. They have worked very professionally and considerate of me and the conditions involved.The company owners and workers are all highly regarded in my estimation and perform their job with utmost reliability and honesty.I am truly satisfied with the work they have done and feel that any work I have them do in the future will be done in a professional and timely manner. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone looking for work to be done.
