It went extremely well. They were quick and efficient. I have already recommended them to two friends and plan to make them my new handy man company.

After a delay in scheduling they got me scheduled. The owner was apologetic and wanted to make things right. The work was performed on time and professionally.

Carlos Castro and his team are professionals and get things done with the quality and time expected. I personally appreciated they were here on time every day! Their prices are competitive and they provide great customer service. I recommend The Empire of Tile and Granite services extensively!

Did not use the services I canceled

This was our first experience with a remodel so we weren't sure what to expect when we remodeled our Master Bath. The crew was always on time and got to work the minute they arrived. There were a few minor glitches along the way...some of it our fault and now that it is all done there are a few things I would have done differently. We picked out and purchased all of our tile and didn't understand that natural marble tiles can sometimes be slightly different sizes and thickness which can cause the layout to be exactly straight. Although some of this is the fault of the tile I believe some of it was due to the tile guy not wanting to take the time to pick out the most perfect tiles as he was laying them. Had this extra time been taken to do this then it would have avoided having to remove and rework some of the tile. The tile that was ceramic was laid perfectly and we loved how our tile floor turned out. Other lessons learned. We ordered our own cabinets but had The Empire of Tile and Granite install them as well. Due to our inexperience in cabinetry layout we had our cabinets sides hung directly against the wall instead of having a spacer or filler between the wall and cabinet. Without this filler it means that when you open a cabinet door that it hits the wall. Would have been nice if the contractor who has experience would have mentioned that as we could have order the spacer and avoided the problem. Of course we didn't realize this was an issue until the first time we went to use the cabinets. The painter on the crew does a fabulous job. We had the Master bath, Master bedroom, and an additional bathroom painted and new moldings installed and painted. Awesome job. Overall great job and in the end we are very happy with the new bathroom!

They hung 2 bathroom cabinets and added tiles to the backsplash in the kitchen. These guys were awesome and professional. The company honored the deal even when it had expired (they were overbooked because of the angle's list deal but promised they would honor it). They were early, took no breaks and the work was superb.

Carlos came out to give me an estimate. When I asked when the work could start, he said he had projects for the next 60 days but could work me in if someone canceled. Within a day or so he sent me the bid which I accepted. I received an email to next day asking if he could start work on the next Monday. I agreed and planned a vacation day from work. I received an email on Saturday indicating he could not come out on Monday. Due to may work schedule, I need firm plans for the work schedule. I was also concerned I was told in would be 60 days before the work could start unless someone changed their plans. I felt like this was a sells tactic to get me to use them.

There was an initial in-home consultation, then Mr. Castro met us at the tile store and helped us choose our tile. His sons removed and disposed of the old tile and replaced it with the chosen tile. They did a great job!!! My neighbors stopped by to "check it out" and were also impressed with their work. His sons were friendly and professional. I felt very comfortable having them in our home. They were present during the recent severe wind storm and helped me drag large tree branches from my tree out of the street. I highly recommend "The Empire of Tile and Granite " for remodeling.

I called them on the day i bought the deal, and I was told that I someone will me a call back to schedule a time.They never contacted me to set up a time and so till this day....no response from them

It went fine. They came when they said they would and completed the job on time. There was a small problem, but they were very quick in getting that resolved.

They were slow to respond when we contacted them, the designs weren't really what we had asked for, and their final quote for the redesign was high. However, they were timely and courteous. Ultimately, we chose to postpone the project until further notice.

They were very friendly and professional. Came out twice to look at the area so that they coud give an accurate quote. We really appreciated that in the end they told us that they could do the type of job we wanted, but it was not the area of expertise. That was very professional of them. They did not just take our money and then do a second quality job. We will ask them to quote when we have our next tile or granite job.

When I saw the big deal for a bathroom redo, I was intrigued, but did not want to purchase the big deal until I had an onsite consult with the contractor. Carlos came promptly on the agreed day and time. I wanted some extra work not included in the big deal. He agreed to remove a doorway, and create a half wall where a full wall was, remove the sofits over the sink, tub, and cabinet over the toilet. repair sheet rock, completely redo all texture for an additional $1100 over the big deal price. He also let me know a big deal was coming soon that was only a $899 deposit for the same work and price as the big deal I had called him on. I purchased the coupon for the deposit. Carlos let me know he could not start for about 1 month. (On the actual contract, he subtracted out the materials allowance out of what I owed him,so that I could purchase the fixtures, tile, etc. that I wanted. Thus he was only paid for the labor, I assumed the materials cost.) The 1 month turned into 2 1/2 months before he started, but when his workers finally started, they completed the job in about 7 working days. Carlos came almost every day to check on the progress of the workers and on my happiness with how the job was going. He was very professional, polite, and responsive to my requests and concerns. After the tile was installed, I was not happy with the fact that the tile was not perfectly flush. They willingly removed a large section and replaced it making it much smoother the second time. Even after he was paid in full, he came back promptly to correct a small problem with the tub faucet. It is finished and beautiful. The bathroom was transformed from an 80's divided small bathroom to what looks and feels much larger. It is beautifully updated. I am quite happy with it. UPDATE: I recently had an electrical issue in my bedroom and had an electrician come take a look. When investigating the issue, the electrician accessed my attic and found that the electrical work done by The Empire of Tile and Granite for the bathroom (unrelated to the bedroom issue) was not done to code. Specifically, they had connected the wires using just wire nuts, rather than putting it in a junction box as is required by law, and put the connection under the insulation in my attic. This is a major breach of code, as well as a massive fire hazard. When I contacted The Empire of Tile and Granite he agreed to reimburse me for the work that the electrician did to fix the issue, but I feel it is necessary for me to warn others of their shotty work.

KITCHEN [and nearby bathroom] REDO, by Empire Tile & Granite - April 2014 This contact was made through an Angi's List 'special' which only generally matched my needs. The principal, Carlos Castro, bent over backwards to negotiate a deal. I had very definite ideas about colour, tile choice etc, but Carlos was very helpful with advice re. details, choices, and changes, He was very responsive to phone calls, email and issues, He supervised his crew closely. His lead man, Daniel, was very professional and meticulous. Managing the ceiling and floor deconstruction mess was well handled. NB dust throughout the house is inevitable! One of his workers was not so caring of his work, and per Carlos is no longer with them. In the meantime, Daniel kept him mostly on task, & mistakes were corrected. Between our various commitments, and delayed tile availability, scheduling was an issue, but once started was completed in a timely [7 day] manner. Work days included Sat. Cost , including materials all purchased by myself, using his Big Box discount, was $ 5,700. We are delighted with the results. RJM, retired physician.

Carlos spend the extra time including meeting my wife at a tile store to insure he got the correct time and trim. His entire crew was timely each day and completed the work quickly.

Overall kitchen is nice. Work took longer than expected. Carlos is very good with tile work. We had a few disagreements about the installation of a vent hood which was resolved. Be sure to double check plans for cabinets as we had to purchase additional cabinet units. Carlos was helpful in taking me to the showrooms for tile and cabinets so that I could get ideas.

Carlos and his crew worked on an extensive remodling project on my house before it was to be listed for sale. After setting up an appointment, Carlos met me at the house to take measurements for the estimate and even brought tons of samples of hardwood, tile, carpet, and granite for me to choose from.without ever having to set foot inside a home improvement store. His estimate came back to be very reasonable, even beating out another highly-reviewed Angie's list contractor. He and his crew were professional and hard-working, and he communicated with me throughout the entire process to make sure that there were no surprises. The project was completed in the time he promised, right on budget, and the updates turned out amazing! Hard to beleive it's the same house! We've now had the house listed for a few days and have gotten tons of positive feedback about the gorgeous upgrades that were done. I was a bit nervous about choosing a contractor from Angie's List for our first remondling project, especially considering the amount of work be done and the cost involved, but we are extremely happy with the work Carlos and his crew did and would definitely hire him again for any job, big or small!

This was a wonderful experience! Carlos and I started planning my kitchen remodel back in October, 2013 but I put off doing the construction until this Spring. The job started on April 21st and was finished by May 9th. Carlos and his crew came every week day and worked approx 8-10 hours a day and were able to complete the entire job in three weeks. The kitchen was a total gut job. Everything was removed - flooring, cabinets, etc. We even changed the footprint of the kitchen by removing the peninsula with a sink and expanding the kitchen into what was the former breakfast area. Everything was done so professionally and with great workmanship. I felt fully confident leaving the crew in my house to do the work while I went to my job. Every day, I would come home excited to see what had been done during the day. Luis would show me the progress, ask me any questions about what I wanted done next or how I wanted it done and the next day, it would get done. When the project was complete, I literally could not find anything wrong with the products used or the workmanship. I would hire Carlos again without hesitation.

I contacted Carlos Castro with the Empire of Tile and Granite through the Big Deal that was offered on Angie's List for a complete bathroom remodel. Carlos came out and met with me and explained the entire process. At that time, I paid the downpayment for the remodel work and we set the date when the work would begin. Carlos met me at the tile store and together we picked out the tile for the shower wall, shower floor and the bathroom floor. He gave me his expertise in selecting and recommending what tiles would work best. He even suggested some decorative tile for the border. I mentioned that I'd love to have a shower spa panel and he was able to guide me to an outlet that sold exactly what I wanted at a very reduced price. All the tile and fixtures were expertly installed and they did a superb job. For anyone that has an outdated bathroom and wants a complete transformation, professional done, I highly recommend Carlos and his team at The Empire of Tile and Granite. Carlos was terrific. Really easy to talk to and reach by phone and email. He was great about staying in touch, providing status updates, and making suggestions. His experience is really helpful when selecting materials. He walks through each process and gives deadlines and completed tasks in timely fashion. He is up front and honest and a pleasure working with him. We will use him again in the future with our other projects. He was a reasonable guy and we really liked his crew. They were friendly, prompt, good work ethic and performed a really good job. We are really pleased with our bath remodel. It isnt 100% perfect, and I have high expectations for spending $8,000, but it was a good value and I am satisfied enough to do repeat business. Thank you Carlos!!!

All work has been done on a timely and professional basis. I was in process of moving from another city and left much of the work to be done while I was away from Dallas. An old wooden deck and pergola was removed and a beautiful new brick patio was put in. Much of the work was done during the bad winter weather when I encouraged the crew to go home and stay warm, but they wanted to continue working. Mr. Castro and his workers work very hard and do not need constant supervision. Before I moved in, I trusted them to complete work and gave them a key to my house when I was not here. Mr. Castro made good suggestions about how to do things when I was not sure. However, if I have definite ideas about what I want done, he works hard to satisfy my requirements. He began today on the remodeling of my kitchen which includes new cabinets, backsplash and tile floors. He met me at the cabinet and tile showrooms to select the products which was most helpful. I look forward to my new kitchen and will come back with another review when the work is finished. But I expect to be pleased with the work. I would certainly recommend this company for remodeling your home.

It went great. I like the promptness and timeliness.

It was OK. We got some ideas for our bathroom remodel project. We haven't done any work yet and their plans weren't very detailed. They came out about 2 months ago and I wasn't charged anything extra. It wasn't a super job it was just OK.

They installed new shower door, new light fixtures, and new facets in sinks in bathroom.

They did a very good job, and managed to complete all the small tasks I had outlined in the appointed time. They were very pleasant and professional.
