We were really apprehensive and nervous about working with a contractor for such a large project. We purchased a home that required extensive remodeling. After reading all the positive reviews on Angie’s list and other websites, we decided to contact Carlos to get an estimate. I’m so happy we did, Carlos and his crew quickly removed any worries about the project! It was great working with Carlos throughout the project. His costs were reasonable and we are extremely happy with the work he and his crew did for us. Our project included texturing and painting complete interior of 3000sf home. This included painting all doors, crown molding and built-ins, and kitchen cabinets. They also installed granite countertops, wood flooring, carpet, and tile throughout. Electrical work included installation of can lights (removed florescent light fixtures) and ceiling fans. Carlos was always available throughout the project and was always prompt to respond to any questions or concerns. He often initiated contact to let us know how project was progressing and/or to talk through any issues or design decisions that needed to be made. We also hired Carlos to complete flooring renovations at our other home to prepare it for sale. We will not hesitate to hire Carlos and his crew for any future renovations.

Able and willing to work around my schedule which was greatly appreciated. Arrived on time, were friendly, courteous and respectful, completed all projects with great results, and cleaned up work areas. Overall experience was excellent and I will keep them in mind for future projects.

After suffering through the sink replacement disaster, we got to see how professionals handle demolition of old tile with NO dust in the house. Carlos supervised each step of the process and had the right people each step of the way, a demolition crew, a counter installation crew and his son Luis finished the project with the back splash prep and tile installation, measuring and cutting each tile to achieve the best result. Carlos and everyone on his team are professionals, easy to deal with, quality minded, customer service oriented and all nice people to boot. It was a pleasure meeting them and I would not hesitate to work with Carlos again. As a matter of fact, he is quoting some concrete work we need done and we know the price will be fair and the quality excellent.

Overall it went pretty well. Luis did an excellent job with the sheet rock, texture, painting, staining and baseboard. It is an almost perfect match for the existing interior. We were a little disappointed that they didn't get the slate tile we originally picked out, but Luigi did a good job installing the ceramic tile that we chose as a replacement. Overall the work was good and we would recommend them.

Overall we are very happy. Carlos is professional and very easy to work with. The painting went slower than expected, but was very thorough.

I had a great experience with Carlos and the crew from Empire of Tile and Granite. My project was took about 3.5 weeks and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. They replaced a bathtub (including extending a wall to accommodate a larger bathtub), re-tiled a shower, replaced the granite on all my vanities, replaced doors and baseboards, and painted everything. My project manager, Daniel, and his crew showed up promptly each day and were very respectful of my home and family as they worked. Carlos helped me by making suggestions on ways to improve the design and went with me to pick out the granite and tile. If I had any concerns during the work, I just texted Carlos and he would respond promptly and was always willing to address any concerns that I had. We did have to execute a couple small change orders during the project when we encountered unexpected things behind the walls, but Carlos explained to me in detail why something would need to change and was very reasonable in terms of the costs to modify the plan. I have heard a ton of horror stories about remodeling and, while it is a dusty and inconvenient process sometimes, I had so much fun throughout and I really credit Carlos and his team for all their hard work. I would definitely hire them again.

Few weeks after they installed the Jucuzzi tub it started leaking down into the kitchen and in the walls ruining the trim\drywall, apparently they failed to tighten down some pipes, so they did come out and repaired the dry wall after the plumbing was secure. Now several months later the same thing happened ceiling swelling trim and drywall soggy turns out another pipe the overflow pipe was not secure. they failed again! now back to square one! and the big problem is I cant reach that pipe to tighten so we can't use the jets!

Filed lawsuit and settled 11 months later. Collected damages up to the extent that the law allowed. Because of that we cannot comment any further. Case closed.

Carlos deserves a five-star rating. He is the best contractor we have ever hired all these years for our house remodeling! We interviewed several contractors for our kitchen remodeling in 2016. The quotes were all over the place, with the highest bid at $60,000. Carlos’ bid was the lowest at $18,500. We would be afraid to choose him, had we not read all the positive comments about him on Angie’s list. We are so glad that we chose him. The entire project took exactly 4 weeks as planned. He accommodated us as much as he could, as a result, we did not lose the use of the kitchen until 2 weeks after the project started. Daniel (the project leader) was a superman. He was very quiet and hard working. There was nothing that he could not do - from demolition to rebuilding the kitchen that included laying concrete floors, building new wall frames, reroute plumbing, hanging new cabinets and installing wall ovens/countertop stove/ventilation hood/faucets as well as laying travertine floor tiles/putting on the glass-tile backsplash, etc. He did a superb job in every one of these categories. He began his work every day at 8:30 AM, and took a short lunch break; some days he worked till 8:00 PM. Abraham specialized in dry wall and painting. He was very meticulous and his work was perfect. The contractor Carlos himself was very personable. He did most of the behind-the-scene chores to make the project go smoothly. He came almost every day to supervise the project. At the end, we had a very beautiful and functional new kitchen! The cost was $10,000 more than originally quoted due to changes in the style of cabinets and some add-ons. Carlos is a warm, reliable and reasonably-priced contractor. We will certainly use him and his associates again for our future house-remodeling projects.

Carlos is very polite and on time for the estimates and each of the subsequent visits, checking for the works ongoing. We have very smooth communication throughout the process. He also provided valid suggestions for the project which is very helpful for us His crew lead by Luis, was on time and work diligently from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, sometimes even longer hours. Prep works before work starts, and clean-up at the end of each working day. The crew was very polite and are happy workers. They finished the project efficiently in 13 working days. The quality of the work is very good, Luis helps us along the way in making suggestions. We are very happy with The Empire of Granite and Tile Co. We will be happy to refer them to our neighbors , friends... We are now have the second project scheduled with them.

Carlos and his team did a fantastic job on my kitchen remodel. They were professional from start to finish, had excellent communication with me through text, email and phone conversations. I had a chance to be home for the entire 4 week project to see exactly how they performed. A lot of times I left home for various errands and the quality of work never dropped off. Carlos will tell you straight up what the job will entail and what you can look forward to. Project was done on time and around budget (the overtures were because our design tastes grew). I will be using him again for future projects here at my home.

Since my house was built in 1925, there were many, many obstacles to overcome, to bring everything up to modern code. Carlos' son, Luis was the brain for this project. He is talented way beyond his years, and did a phenomenal job figuring out plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and other issues that popped up, and he got them done. Luis, Michael, his assistant and I worked as a team to work around issues that revealed themselves. Flexibility is the key here on this type of project, on both sides, and it worked beautifully. Their professionalism is unmatched!

Based on his reviews on Angie's, and impressed by his honesty, I? gave him the project. He clearly explained what was involved and the time period it would take to complete the work. It went slightly over due to some manufacture defect in some of the products I had purchased. But Carlos was able to address all the issues that came up very efficiently. Initially, it was hard to find some of the tiles I wanted in the shower, he went out of his way to find them and also, he was extremely flexible in adapting to my needs. He was able to visualize what I wanted in a shower, and came through in getting it done. Quality of work done was exceptional! Louis, Carlos's son actually worked on the shower. He did an impeccable job in building a beautiful shower. He would explain everything at the different stages of remodeling and make sure that is what I wanted. It was a good feeling since there was no room for error, or misunderstanding. Would definitely recommend Carlos and his company to my group of friends. Carlos and his team were very professional, friendly, hardworking, and punctual. They did an excellent job and my house felt like a new house once they were done. The work was very precise and done correctly with no shortcuts. When they were done it was left very clean and presentable. Carlos is honest about what to expect with a job and will give options and explain any pros or cons to any questions before the work is done.

Rarely have I have enjoyed working with a contractor as much as I enjoyed working with Carlos and his team. Here's why: - Quality: Every aspect of the job was completed with the finest workmanship. The tile work in the shower was tricky due to a sloped ceiling and a bench. It is flawless. The drywall texture was perfectly applied. A custom in-wall cabinet was made with perfect angles. Nothing was rushed. - Excellent communication: Carlos asks many questions and makes no apology for it. This is a very good thing. It's easier and faster for a contractor to make decisions for the customer. It's harder and takes longer to work with the customer to ensure even the smallest details are communicated. - Extremely flexible: The Empire of Tile and Granite can do plumbing and electrical through the use of subcontractors. They can do it all. I wanted to use my own plumber and electrician, and this arrangement was easily accepted. - Hardworking: Carlos assigned two men to work full time on this job. Daniel and Abraham worked tirelessly for three weeks to get the job done. Not once did I come home to find them taking a break or sitting on their hands. I was impressed every day. - Great attitude: Carlos smiles. He's upbeat. He laughs a lot. He says things like "don't worry, it will be great." His men have the same attitude. Home remodel is a very stressful event. Working with happy people makes it 1000 times better. Pura vida! We will absolutely hire The Empire of Tile and Granite for our next job.

Carlos is a true professional. He is knowledgeable, punctual, polite, and friendly. He was patient with us, as we have a one year old that acts like a one yr old.
