Advanced Window Systems

I see good reviews from 6+ years ago but seems like something has changed because this seems like sloppy work. I had a leak coming through my living room window after they installed it. Their own employee told me it was a gap in the caulking from installation and verified this with a leak test, but owner Steven Johnson says it's impossible to know for sure that it was their fault (even though his employee confirmed, and then repaired the problem by adding caulking). They've left me with drywall damage that I'm going to have to repair out of pocket. Communication about getting their help with this has been dreadful; they will go weeks to months without responding to me. I've been dealing with this issue now for 4 full months. If they'd just been straight with me from the beginning I probably wouldn't care as much, but I've just never seen such disorganized communication and blatant disregard for the customer. Not good!

If I could give this company a lower score I would. This is the most unprofessional, unskilled contractor that I have ever worked with. Craftsmanship is non-existent at AWS. I know nothing about installing windows but common sense should tell you that if a window has a nail fin/flange, you don't screw the window directly on to a house's cedar siding. I would think that you should remove the siding pieces that are adjacent to the window opening first, then slide in the new window, and reattach the siding. Nope, not this company. Apparently they don't agree with Jeld-Wen's install instructions. The second issue I have was the fact that I was never told how much more depth my new windows would require on the inside and outside. With the new ones, they are no longer flush with my exterior siding. They stick out a good inch at least. Even adding one layer of trim around the window is not enough to make the flush. They had to add 2 layers of trim. All 12 are leaking as I type this

They were great on every level. They were really friendly, punctual, and really knowledgeable about the systems. They took time to explain what I was getting into. And, their product is really awesome. What stood out about them is the period of time they got the job done. It was really short, like within a day. It was awesome.

They installed a 5 foot by 5 foot window replaced, which was not an easy job. We called them for the inspection and they gave us an estimate, which we liked. They were very professional and we liked everything they did. We had them put in a sliding window, instead of a regular one. They did a good job cleaning it up, after the completion. They were friendly and knowledgeable. There was a bit of miscommunication, but, never hampered the job. Their prices were competitive. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

The window installation company demonstrated decent on-site management. There was always someone on-site who was in charge. He knew what the whole plan was and had some accountability. They cleaned up after themselves and didn't leave a mess.
