Village Green

Overall the service was permormed totally to my satisfaction. Village Green called promptly to set up an appointment at my convenience. The service person came as schduled and on time. The whole job took less than an hour to cycle all of the sprinkler zones, check the spray nozzels, adjust those needing it, improve the settings on the programmable controller and replace a couple of spray heads that were not optimum for the area being watered. There were no extra charges beyond the original deal that I had agreed to. I do recommed Village Green for this type of work.

Technician prompt, courteous and knowledgeable

Wonderful. They come by every week and maintain the flower bed. My grass has never been so green. Also, they have a great website that tells you everytime they visited and what services they recommend if they find any problems. They also send you mail to alert you to any issues they may have found when servicing your yard. I am very impressed with the service I have received from them. They even let me know when they are running behind on the mowing schedule due to weather, holidays, etc.

I'm glad I don't have to write these very often as my Angie's list experiences are generally very positive. Called this company several times to set up a contract for lawn fertilization. Left a couple messages, sent emails, and even spoke to a live person once who informed me someone would call me back to schedule an appt. nothing, nada. If this is any indication of the company's service, I wold recommend avoiding. Called another company on Angie's list and I was all set up to have my lawn fertilized next week.

The guy's were on time and very professional. They checked my sprinkler system and gave me the results of there findings. Didn't realize that the reason one side of my lawn was dryer an dying was because the water pressure from the valve on the side needed to be replaced. They quoted a reasonable price and fixed everything immiediately. They adjusted my sprinkler heads so that I would get better coverage and not continue to water the street. I will definitely use them again.

The technician did the additional work and I paid the additional cost. There was a large divot that he did not replace and the drip irrigation system that he set to go off everyday included a zone that had regular sprinklers. I called the company to have him come back and reset the schedule and he did find some additional sprinkler heads that needed to be raised, so he did that work.

Went well. We had to reschedule several times but that was our fault. Saturdays were mostly booked so we took a day off from work to be here on a Friday. We could have waiting another week but we had 3 "gushers" and could not use the system without repair. I know we have areas in the flower beds that don't get water and I know it needs to be reconfiguered. I was surprised they did not recommend any reconfiguration but there was enough to fix as is. Still, if they would have made some suggestions that made sense, we may have hired them to come out later to do them.

I purchased the Big Deal for $55, and the company representative did a thorough check of all the sprinkler heads and the system. He made several suggestions for changes to help improve watering the lawn and plants; i.e., replacing one head with a raised head, so the plant underneath it did not drown. The cost for the parts and installation time was, of course, in addition to the Big Deal. I was happy to have the good advice and adjustments made.

It was worth the $55 I spent on the tune up the irrigation system.

The repair people were punctual and efficient. They showed up on time. They seemed to work quickly. They cleaned up their messed. I'd use them again. I gave them a B on price because all sprinkler repair companies are expensive - Village Green no more so then the others.

Daryl was a nice guy, called almost 30 minutes out and was very punctual. He reattached two sprinkler heads that a mower had knocked off and adjusted other heads. However, he spent most of his time trying to tell my husband that we needed to upgrade our system, which would be over $300. Totally unnecessary, just a sales pitch, which was irritating.

You normally can't get a sprinkler repair person out the day you call them. Village Green did come out the day that I called. That was important because I was leaving town the next day and did not want to leave the sprinkler system turned off. They fixed the break and I was happy.

Ken's whole outfit is very professional and competent. He really loves landscaping and it shows. We really enjoyed the quality of the designs (professional architectural plans made getting HOA approval a breeze) and the process for designing the landscape. Ken laid out the process and told us what to expect on each week and day. Any time there was an adjustment to the plan (typically due to heavy rain we received a couple of times) this was communicated and the new plan expressed. Despite a few weather delays, the project was still completed on time. The project was very large, and included basically a complete demolition of our front and back yards and a build up totally from scratch. They are now much more functional and beautiful. We have the nicest yard and landscaping on our street and once the plants have grown for a season and really start to bloom, it will be the nicest in the neighborhood. I will be honest and say that Village Green is not the cheapest game in town by any stretch. But the quality, professionalism and dedication Ken and his crew have is worth it. He has been to the house many times since completing the project to tweak things and replace a few of the new plants that didn't survive the extreme heat we had. Most companies probably would have said "too bad for you". I would definitely recommend Village Green and use them again in the future if the opportunity ever presents itself. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: 10/31/2013 Just wanted to update this review since it has been a while since I first submitted it. My original review still stands. Very happy with the job and we still have the nicest yard in the neighborhood. (In fact, we were sent a notice from the HOA (which I expected to be a violation letter about leaving the trash cans out or some such nonsense) but it turned out to be a comment on our beautiful yard and thanking us for making the neighborhood so much nicer with our landscaping. It really was quite a surprise.) We have enjoyed this landscaping immensely but due to our family growing we have ended up needing to move to a larger house. We will miss enjoying it on a regular basis but I do believe the landscaping paid more dividends yet again: Upon listing our house, we had multiple offers on it the first day it was listed and all were above our asking price. We even had others who said they were interested in an offer but did not want to be a backup contract as we had quickly accepted the best offer. Ken also did a touch up for us planting fresh flowers and trimming where necessary just in time for our listing, which also helped us make a fast sale I am certain. Also, between my first review and this one, Ken returned at least once more to replace bushes that did not survive last year's drought. Most plants did survive, I expect the whole two years we have had the landscaping, we lost maybe a half dozen or so, out of probably hundreds. And it was very painless to get them replaced. I will definitely be calling Ken again if we should decide to landscape our new property as I have been very satisfied with his services, both at the time they were performed, and in the couple of years since. The quality has been consistently high. I recommend them highly.

The work was completed quickly and satisfactorily (barring one minor item, which was fixed on a call back) and the after-sale support has been really good. A few weeks later, I experienced and anomaly, and Charlie came out and diagnosed it for me, and also fixed a couple of other problems while he was here.

The company called ahead, showed up on time, spent more than the hour that I had scheduled to make sure that all my concerns were met. Overall they were prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable......exactly what you would hope for.

I had bought a Big Deal for them to service my sprinkler system. Despite calling and emailing them asking for an appointment, no one got back to me to set it up. Finally, I had to call Angie's list and get a refund for the big deal. Weeks later the owner called wanting to schedule the service stating that Angies list did not send him my name as someone who bought the service. But I had called his office, talk to a lady, asked for an appointment and she had said he would get back to me. So I am glad I did not use them.

I bought the Angie's List special deal of $55 for a sprinkler tune up because we bought our house a year ago and didn't know when the last time all the heads had been checked. After purchasing the coupon, Village Green called and said that someone would be calling me to set up a time to come out. That never happened, so I had to call to schedule my tune-up. I knew some heads needed to be repaired. Our yard was larger than specified in the special deal, so we were charged a bit more for the service. After going over our whole system, they explained what needed to be fixed/replaced. There were quite a few repairs. I was a little surprised at the cost of the parts and the labor. There were 2 men doing the tune up part, but when it came time to charge labor, the work seemed to take longer than necessary as only one was working for most of the time.All in all, the work was done well and our grass has greened up again. They were knowledgeable about how long each section of sprinklers should be running and showed us how to adjust our controller for the cooler season, which is much appreciated. THere was one sprinkler head that they had tagged for repair that apparently didn't get done. I called them back and they returned the next day to fix it. They did a good job but next time I will shop around a little more on price.

Brought out the company for their $55 sprinkler tune-up special. During their inspection we discovered 2 bad solonoids (knew one was bad), several sprinkler heads not producing enough coverage. They discovered a leaking unit that was washing out under my fence - tracked it down and fixed it. During the review they notice a more than normal wet spot in the ground - upon further investigation they determined it was not a sprinkler leak and suggested I get a plumber to investigate (turned out to be a broken main water line to the house). They were very nice and professional - did a thorough inspection job - reprogrammed my timer to better soak the ground and reduce run-off.

Daryl showed up promptly and was very professional and informative. I was especially pleased he did not press for further services or expenditures beyond what I had already purchased. I now have a company I feel I can trust when/if I do have an issue with my sprinkler system.

All the work was done and tested within a few hours and Charlie was great. I also had a conversation with the owner Ken about doing some landscaping work. I found him to be honest and forthright and will definitely contract with them when that project comes up.

We purchased our home earlier in the year and our sprinkler system was non-functional. We hired Village Green for a sprinkler system tune-up special offer but explained when scheduling that our system likely needed much more than just a tune-up. They were professional and prompt, all necessary repairs were explained and we were able to approve all repairs along the way. Our main sprinkler control valve was broken and many of our sprinkler heads were broken, buried, or both. When finished, all zones worked properly and all sprinkler heads were adjusted. They guys at Village Green were knowledgeable and honest and I look forward to using them again in the future.

The village green repairman called ahead to let us know he was going to be late. He arrived promptly at the new time. He worked quickly and efficiently to complete the task. He also gave us useful tips on how to deal with additional questions. Overall an excellent experience.

They called to confirm their appt. and again to let me know they were on the way. They were very thorough, made some needed repairs, and made sure I understood how the system worked.
