I purchased a Big Deal from Village Green for my lawn fertilization service on Saturday. They returned my call on Saturday which I didn't not expect and they were at my home Monday morning to teat the lawn. They left literature on what they had done, they put a small sign up in the yard, and the even indicated the times that they were at my house. I have contracted with them to provide fertilization and weed control for the rest of the year. Very professional and great customer service.

 + -1 moreThey got her about 10 minutes early. Any worker who is early is ON TIME.. Both of them went to work and checked all the way through the sprinkler settings and had flags to show the problems. They gave me a price to do the job and got right to work. They ran the sprinklers again to see how everything worked and found two more sprinklers that needed to be replaced. They replaced those too and didn't charge any more. Great job!!
Description of Work: I had more than 12 sprinklers that needed replacing as they wouldn't go back down when th water cut off. Also a rotary head that was replaced. They did the job when they were here and my sprinklers are working fine now.

Description of Work: I utilized a lawn sprinkler coupon by this company. Their arrival was on time two men, and I pointed out some dry areas. Per their assessment I needed some heads replaced, and one addition which involved digging and new pipe which was sold by the inch; and a replacement. I was given a $95/hr labor quote, which was okay with me, until I saw that the person doing the work was being instructed by I will conclude the experienced worker. I was disappointed in that with a rookie being trained the time to complete the work probably took longer. I pointed this out to the main guy he got insulted and told me I didn't have to pay anything. I told him I would pay him but I thought the time for labor was too much due to the inexperience of the one doing the work. He even had to show this guy how to write up an invoice. I was not pleased and told him to lower the labor charges. He did however this was disappointed, I did ask for a warranty on what was done because it involved digging. I prefer when someone does a job they have done not performing the job for the first time. I am grateful the young man was not sole person to show up, no telling what I would have gotten.

 + -1 moreI called them to set up an appointment to have the work done. They told me I needed to purchase lawn flags and mark all of the sprinkler heads I had before they could do the work. They said it was listed in the fine print of the deal for me to do this, which it was not. I decided not to have the work done and requested a refund.
Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal for $59 for Spring Lawn Aeration.

 + -1 moreI was very pleased with Village Green. The crew gave me a call to let me know that they were running about 20 minutes behind schedule, but they got to my home very promptly after that. The two guys were extremely pleasant and professional, and they took the time to explain some extra details about our system (such as suggesting setting different timing on each of our zones to maximize the irrigation and showing me how they checked the foundation watering drip line to make sure that it was working. They did detect a leak in one of our zones, and they offered to repair it and gave me their costs. Since I have a maintenance plan with the company that originally installed the system in 2007, I told them that I was going to call the other company first to see what their rates would be. However,I have never gotten a good response from the original company for any of the maintenance questions I've had, so I'm probably going to contact Village Green in the next couple of days to schedule the leak repair.
Description of Work: The Village Green two-man crew were here on Monday, February 25 to perform a check and tune-up of the irrigation system. They tested all of the valves for pressure, and replaced a shrub riser that had lost its threads (at no extra charge).

Ken Hyatt and Charley Rickett provide outstanding customer service and go out of their way to provide personal service. I purchased an Angie's list coupon for two lawn pre-emergent/fertilizer treatments, but since our yard is larger than most, they had to figure out the acreage and then applied a comparable discount. We were so pleased with their quality of service that we opted for the full treatment program and also had the lawn aeration done last week -- outstanding job! I highly recommend this company.

 + -1 moreOverall the work was done in one visit. Cost was on par with other companies. They ran a extension cord instead instead of having the wiring run through the wall for the new controller. So I am giving a overall B instead of an A .
Description of Work: Have used this company in the past for fencing. I bought a big deal for sprinkler check-up and they found that I had a major part that needed to be replaced. They were able to do work same day. Just wish that they had attached extension cord with staples or something instead of leaving it hanging. Will used them again.

They came out once and went through and tested all of our sprinklers, made a few adjustments and even repaired a few sprinkler heads at no extra charge. We had them set up our sprinkler timers for the winter months, and when we noticed that our front bushes weren't getting enough water, they came back out and made the correct adjustments as soon as we called. They were very professional, responsive and did not try to sell us a bunch of extra services. We will definitely use them again.

 + 3 moreThis was a big job with dramatic results. The house looks instantly better and will continue to look better as the landscaping matures. The architect's design was well-planned, aesthetically beautiful, and clearly communicated. The execution was smooth and efficient, completed in less than two weeks. The quality of the work is outstanding. The beds were dug, amended and tilled to the highest standard, ensuring the prosperity of the new trees and shrubs. Darryl and his crew were very professional, arriving every morning by 8:00 am. and working a full day. At the end of each day, they cleaned the entire area (including the street) before leaving. Ken (the owner) was also here multiple times each day, keeping me updating and making sure all my questions were answered. Ken has developed a process that ensures success, satisfaction, and value for money. This has been my best contractor experience, and I highly recommend Village Green to anyone considering landscape work.
Description of Work: I wanted my front yard (100 ft) landscaping redesigned to better showcase my home. I contacted Ken Hyatt from Village Green for an assessment. He brought in an excellent landscape architect who created a great design. The plan included removing all the landscaping from the front of the house, removing some of the grass to create new beds, amending and tilling the soil, purchasing and planting trees and shrubs, altering the sprinkler for the new landscape, and mulch. I also had a couple of trees removed from the back yard and a small bed tilled and planted.

 + -1 moreWe purchased an Angie's Big Deal sprinkle tune up for $55. When we scheduled the appointment we stated that the main issue were the voids in the sprinkler pattern where the heads no longer reach (but once did). They had to reschedule the first appointment... on the second appointment they were prompt and courteous. Numerous attempts to fix the problem failed and in the end they wanted to assess the situation and get back with a recommendation. There were additional charges to the original purchase deal. In truth we really didn't know how we felt about the additional charges... on one hand they did go well beyond the time alloted for the original tune up purchase in an attempt to resolve the issue. On the other hand the issue was never resolved and we have not heard back regarding the resolution. Our case/problem may be unique and therefore a little more challenging than the typical/normal tune up.
