Village Green

They did a good job overall. They had asked me to mark all my sprinkler heads, and I did notice that they would just go right over them. So either they didn't pay attention to my flags or they were well enough trained that they could run over the sprinkler heads without damaging them. But over all everything is good and the sprinkler system is working fine.

I spoke with Ken on August 13 (at great length) regarding Village Green?s lawn fertilization/weed control services and decided to sign up to have Village Green provide these services. They were significantly more expensive than my old provider, but I thought perhaps previously I was "getting what I paid for". He told me the current treatment was being provided to customers ?around now?; however, since my previous provider had just fertilized our yard the week prior, I asked that the August treatment be skipped. Ken told me this was no problem, and that I would be put on the schedule for sometime the first or second week in September. Just ten days later on August 23, a tech from Village Green arrived at my home at 8 AM (unannounced, imagine my shock and surprise when I was getting out of the shower and saw a guy in my backyard) to perform lawn fertilization and weed control. I immediately called the main number to find out what was going on, as no one was supposed to be out at my home until September. I received a call back from Charlie shortly thereafter, who - in a nutshell - told me there wasn?t much that could be done at this point ?since the service has already been provided?, and also told me we had a couple of options. We could ?push out? the next service, or perhaps they wouldn't charge me for this service. He told me that he?d have to research the situation and he would probably get back to me sometime on Monday, August 26. I really felt like I was hustled off the phone quickly, and I also thought it was appalling that Village Green would even consider asking me to pay for this service. However, I was willing to give Village Green the benefit of the doubt. I never heard back from anyone at Village Green, and I think three business days was plenty of time to get back to me. Could have contacted them? Sure, but you know what? I did - last Friday. The ball was in their court. Clearly responding to this new customer's issue wasn't a priority, so I sent Village Green a letter telling them we were discontinuing service and that I wasn't paying for the service I specifically asked not be done. Plus, I don't have a lot of faith in a company that has already blown it twice in its dealings with me. We're just hoping our lawn does okay, considering it has been completely over-fertilized now.

It was good. I like their professional attitude. They did what they promised.

Date of service is approximate, don't recall exactly. Bought the Angie's List deal for lawn aeration. I had some questions, needed to reschedule, and despite being super busy because of the deal, they were very responsive to emails and phone calls. I have underground soaker hoses in spots around the house and they remembered to steer clear, not one leak. I'm a bit picky on the aeration, I have yet to find a company that does it exactly as you are supposed to. Mostly not going down deep enough, not sure if people aren't weighing down the machines enough (to make it easier to load and unload) or if my lawn is just that compact. Either way, Village Green did the best job I've seen thus far and the best value for sure.

Ken called me the same day that I requested the work (using the online web page) and scheduled the work on the following Monday between 10 and 12 am. Daryl (the technician) called about 30 minutes before his arrival time. He was very pleasant to work with. He knew what to do and did it with professionalism. The break was actually under a large Red Oak root. Daryl notched the root so the new flexible line would be somewhat protected from trimmers etc. I am very happy with the work and will definitely use Village Green again.

I was searching through Angie’s List for lawn care and when I found Village Green, I went to their website to get more information. I saw on their website that they had a coupon for $89 for the same thing that I was looking for. I originally clicked on that coupon and when I talked to their person, he said that was for customers so I went back and I bought it through Angie’s List where it was $59; that caused them a lot of confusion. I ended up paying $89 and when I tried working with their billing department, they said I need to prove that I bought it on Angie’s List. Anyway, they came out the following week. I had left instructions that it had to be in the afternoon because I was not going to be there in the morning and I have big dogs and a locked gate. They came and worked on the front yard and obviously could not get into the back yard because it was mid morning when they were there. I called a number of times trying to get them back. They said they forgot to do it and that they were getting on to schedule again but they never came back.

I purchased the coupon to inspect my sprinkler system since I had bare spots in the yard where I believed that the sprinklers were either not working or not reaching those areas. The guy came out and inspected everything and it was worse than I had imagined with several sprinklers not working and one that had broken off at the pipe. I felt it cost a lot of money to perform all the work but since I didn't want my grass to die and we've been in such drought, I went ahead and had the work done. They performed all the work but 2 days later when the sprinkler system came on, the pipe connection broke again so the sprinkler system had to be shut off again. They came back out again to fix it and so far it has held. This year my water bill has been lower each month.

They showed on time and got everything done quickly. Good price and service.

My husband was very pleased with the service. The representative was knowledgeable and professional. However, we recently discovered that he turned off the drip lines around our foundation and our flower bed. We are very disappointed to discover this at this point during the summer.

Village Green contacted me soon after my purchase of the my deal to set up the appt for the lawn aeration. I have a lawn service and their prices were much higher . They arrived at my house at approx 7:30 am and got right to work. They finished in about 45 minutes, left me a receipt with what they had done along with info on other services they provide and were on their way. On inspection they got all of my yard and I was quite happy with the service.

Ken, the owner is very hands on, very prompt with service, and does not try to sell his services. I am very impressed with their overall service and responsiveness. Am excited about working with them for landscaping, maintenance of landscape and fertilization services and maintenance of landscape.

Village Green came out and aerated my lawn in April. They did a great job, the lawn looks better than it has in years. I will use them again in the Fall.

Village Green has been treating my lawn since Spring this year. The lawn has never looked better in color and coverage. Weeds have been controlled and eliminated. I have been more than pleased with the service and feel the money has been well spent.

Yard looks wonderful -- nice and green. Village Green prints out a personalized review of my yard each time they visit which has been monthly. Village Green also emails their customers with pertinent landscaping information. Very nice to work with.

They were fine. They just scheduled it in a short period of time and it was done. I was happy with everything that was done.

They did fine. We had purchased a big deal, and they came out a couple of weeks after that. I had to mark all my sprinkler heads myself, and it wasn't that big an issue, but it would have been nice to have known that ahead of time. They were just fine. I used them, because aeration is usually 80 Dollars, and the big deal was cheaper.

So far, everything seems good. They give you updates on your lawn and I like that they drop that off to you when they come and do the maintenance. They tell you what you could be doing, what is going on and other information. I do not have anything to compare their price to but it seems pretty fair. I just thought that they would take care of the weeds but maybe that is not included in their work and that might be my own mistake. I have been meaning to call them and ask about that.

My experience overall went very well. The staff was very professional and friendly.

One of my sprinkler heads broke off. Tried unsuccessfully to get anyone at Village Green to even schedule someone to come out. Called three times. Left a message one time. Spoke with two different people one on Friday the other Sat. Again they apologize for no response and indicate they will leave a message! Time to find a new company!

Work was performed quickly and efficiently. Very professional. Will definitely use him again.
