We have an annual thing. We pay once a year for them to come out and do all the mowing. They start in like late February, and go through Thanksgiving. We have been using them for years and years. They mow if we are not here, we just have to make sure the dogs are in the house.

They come out every 2 weeks. It is $66 a month. They do a good job. I think it’s a good cost.

When we provided Thompson Landscape the photos to prove that the damage was caused by their crew using timmers on our gutters and the underground drain hose, they sent someone to come out and put some plastic around the drains instead of repairing the hose. The refused to come back out and fix the damage they caused. Now the water runs straight down the gutters and into the ground on the side of our house instead of through the underground hose as it is supposed to.
Description of Work: We contracted with Thompson Landscape to come out and mow and edge our lawn. In the process, they damaged our gutters on the side of our house and the underground drain hose. They admit that their crew caused the damage but refuse to fix the damage.

Since I left an earlier review these jokers have since come out to my house and stolen the plants that they planted to try substitute for the ones they destroyed. We were never happy with the plants so I'm not all that bothered that the plants are gone I do find it disturbing that they came on my property without permission. Additionally they persist in trying to collect for the services that their own so-called manager Bethany offered to comp when she gave up on trying to find the correct plant that her crew destroyed ( I found at least 6 acceptable varieties at the local Lowes and Home Depot in 20 minutes of looking). I believe these guys are on their way out of business and could not care less. Save yourself the aggravation of dealing with them and find a company that doesn't suck from the top down.

After we discovered the crew had butchered our landscaping I contacted the office and they took several days to finally get me in touch with someone that would actually address the situation in addition to having someone come out to look at the problem. I asked for them to plant a few plants of the same kind to compensate for the growth that had destroyed. We had been growing a solid green, small leaf ivy from a single plant for over 3 years and planted it under a magnolia tree as ground cover. We knew it would take a couple of years to fill in but that was OK until Thompson cut back at least 2 years of growth. So I thought I was being fairly reasonable. Unfortunately Thompson sent someone out that is either colorblind or incompetent who planted a variegated variety of the ivy next to our solid one. If this was a potted plant then it might look OK but in the ground as ground cover it looks awful and is very noticeable. I let Thompson know I was unsatisfied with their attempt and was told they would need to find the correct plant and it might take several days. I waited a week and nothing occurred I called again and was told someone would be in touch, a few days later is when I began emailing with Alecia who identified herself as a manager. She promised to get me taken care of as soon as possible. I notified Alecia I was leaving town in a week or so and hoped that the issue would be resolved before I left. Just before I left I sent Alecia another email asking her to please take care of the problem before I returned in 9 days. When I arrived home on June 1st nothing had been done. I emailed Alecia again on the 3rd asking for an explanation and resolution. There was no response to this email just like my two previous emails. I called Alecia on June 8th and left a voicemail on their main number, no one responded again. I received an email from a Bethany this morning (6-11-15) telling me they just can't find the plant I want and they were giving up. I decided to see for myself if there was a worldwide shortage of small leaf solid green ivy ground cover. You will be happy to know there is a bountiful supply of many varieties that I would find acceptable to be used next my existing plant. At this point I have had enough of these people and their lying to me. They are obviously lazy or just plain incompetent in pretty much every aspect of their business. They intentionally lead me to believe that this plant was hard to find when in 30 minutes at Home depot and Lowes I found over a half dozen acceptable varieties that are close enough that no one would notice without a detailed inspection. I will fix my own problem now but I am not paying these Jokers for the ridiculous waste of my time they've created. I would have been fine with their giving me some free service up front instead of playing this stupid game for the past month. I suggest you se someone honest and competent for your landscaping needs.
Description of Work: I was getting bi-weekly lawn service for about 6 weeks. On the first service they butchered some of our landscaping - Some slow growing ground cover.

I have used these guys for about 4 years - they would always come on Mondays first thing in the a.m. Up until the last couple of months we were happy with their work. Sadly, the quality of work changed when a new crew started coming on Monday afternoons instead. The edging was sloppy at best, weed eating around landscape lights etc was very poor. I contacted the owner on TWO different occasions regarding this problem. I gave details and took photographs - he assured me BOTH times that he would let his crew know. On the THIRD visit, the issue of sloppy edging and weed eating was unchanged - so either the crew had not been made aware of my concerns or they don't care. I'm not an overly picky person but I expect a job to be done reasonably well. At least better than I can do! I cancelled my service and while the owner was apologetic, he didn't DO anything to correct the problem. I can only assume they don't need my business.

I contacted them by email a week in advance, inquiring about yard service. I received an emailed quote back. I called to schedule an appointment. Was scheduled for 7/21/14 and information to pay in advance. No one ever showed. I left my gate unlocked the entire day and night, waiting on them. The next day, still no showed. My mom called them and left a message, and I tried to contact them by email, and never received a response. We had to pay another company to do the work instead. I emailed them again last night (7/22/14) with a complaint and received an email this morning stating that they are the sister company of another company I had used in the past (Budget Lawn Care) and could not do the work because I owed the other company money. This was the FIRST time I was notified of this. NO ONE called or emailed me about this when I sent my email for the quote (it had my name and address on it), after the service was scheduled, or even the day we called to complain.. This company lacks professionalism and good customer service skills. I should have listed to the warnings of the reviews from other websites.
Description of Work: They did not contact me to tell me they would not be able to service my lawn after I had already scheduled with them. This caused me to have to find another mower in a rush.

Most recent service was "landscape maintenance" where they trimmed our bushes and shrubs. They did a wonderful job in both the front and back yards. Thompson Landscape has provided services including mowing and lawn treatment for several years. We pay the mowing services at the beginning of the season for the complete year and they provide a 5% discount. Since we only get the bushes and shrubs trimmed a couple of times a year, this cost is not included in the upfront payment. I do and have recommended Thompson Landscape to my family and friends. We will continue to use services in future years.

I noted you charged my credit card for mowing services I claim were not provided. I offered to provide photographic evidence to support my position but the offer was ignored. I have notified my credit card provider I am protesting this charge and will also write the Dallas BBB. I have been diligent in timely payment of invoices when they were presented all this year for services rendered. When you sent the November invoice I immediately wrote to you questioning the validity of the charges. As you can see in this message thread I offered evidence of my claim the services were not provided. My offer was ignored and yet you proceeded with billing my credit card. Your statement the crew is instructed to blow leaves off the lawn and then mow, and then blow the leaves back strikes me as ludicrous as there was no evidence any such action took place. If this is how Thompson Landscape does business then I no longer want you as a service provider and will engage a new mowing company to support my needs. Description of Work: At the end of the mowing season, the provider was to mow during the last two weeks of November. I saw no evidence they were there and when I received an invoice for services I protested. They billed my credit card anyway ignoring my protestations.

We have used Thompson Landscaping service for many years. Usually our grass is mowed on Mondays every other week. We have 4 animals that we keep locked in the house on the days that our yard service is done. Our gates are kept locked except on days that the lawn service is scheduled. We also have a pet door that leads to contained yard that keeps the dogs from going near our pool and possibly falling into the pool.This past week there was rain that kept them from servicing us on the scheduled day. No one called from Thompson and advised us that the lawn service would be on Wednesday. After arriving home from work we found that some one had climbed over the fence (8 ft tall) and opened the gate. They also opened the enclosed area where are dogs are and mowed the yard there. Upon leaving they left the small yard gate open (allowing the dogs access to the pool area) and locked the main fence gate and climbed back over. We called Thompson this morning and apprised them of the situation. We talked to Kim who offered to not charge for the back yard and then after talking further said no charge for the whole service. My wife called and talked to Kim and asked to talk to the owner. Kim said no and asked if we were going to call the authorities about the illegal access to our backyard. My wife said she did not know and then Kim informed her that we were fired and would not send anyone else. That's alright. We don't need a lawn service that allows illegal access to homeowners property.

It states in our policies and procedures that rain delays may occur and if it rains on the scheduled mow day to leave gates accessible until the lawn gets mowed that week. As well, (Member name removed) was perfectly fine with our apologies and a free lawn mowing service. Removing the charge for the back yard was never offered but a complimentary service was offered and accepted. (Member name removed) called back later in the day and explained she was still upset about the dogs even though she admitted they were not physically harmed. She brought up contacting the authorities and we explained to her that she certainly has the right to do so but knowing this, we are no longer comfortable sending our crews to the property. The crew did not have bad intentions. They simply wanted to complete the service for the entire property and we have counseled them on the matter. We never said we were "firing" the (Member name removed). We merely explained that we will not be sending our employees back to the property since threats against them were made. We did our best to right a wrong but we will not knowingly set our crews up for a potentially negative outcome. (Member name removed) has always been very pleasant to work with and we regret we will no longer be servicing the property for him. Had his wife not contacted us in a threatening manner, we would still be servicing the property for him for as long as he so desired. No company wishes to lose a good customer but considering the current circumstances, we felt it was necessary to end the working relationship. We wish them all the best with regard to their future lawn care.

I have been a customer of Thompson Landscape for 10 years, and the first 9 years were good. I had new sod installed last summer, and have called, begged and pleaded with them numerous times to mow the grass high. I have had to hire Tru Green to try to save the yard, but the final straw was the mowing performed yesterday after a month long hiatus to allow the grass to recover. They mowed the grass down to a very low level, and when I called I was told I should just go somewhere else since they cannot guarantee that they will always mow my yard no lower than 3 inches. Basically, you get what you get. So I did fire them. They do not care about their customers.

They were punctual and showed up like ghosts to mow the yards. They didn't really do a good job trimming the grass around flowerbeds and landscaping objects. I did have an issue with their customer service that they were exceptionally rude. The last time I spoke with them I had to fire them as I was always treated rudely whenever I called. I do not recommend using them due to the lousy customer service.

Our records indicate she was upset because she requested to switch to biweekly lawn mowing which would create a change in her mow day. She wanted to remain on Friday but that was not a possibility as Fridays are reserved for weekly customers only.

.Plus it was cheaper thru ThompsonI'm very disappointed in this company. If I'd signed up for just lawn mowing, I probably wouldn't be writing this. But I also requested weed control and fertilization, for which they use TruGreen. The lawn mowing was great. I'm happy with that. I'm not happy with the services thru TruGreen or the professionalism of the people on the phones at Thompson. I asked for weed control and fertilization, and when they said TruGreen, I was wary because I had use them before with bad results. But I spoke with Kim, and she said she had a great experience with them and sold me on it. Plus it was cheaper thru Thompson than thru TruGreen. TruGreen came out to do their spraying on a rainy day, and didn't do anything. They tech said they would come back. They never did. I called Thompson to let them know. They rescheduled. TruGreen came out and did ONLY weed control BUT NO fertilization. It was written in their document that they placed on my door. I called Thompson to ask why no fertilization was done, and they said it was an all-in-one, even though the TruGreen document said only weed control. I said OK. So I locked my gates. Then TruGreen comes by to apply AGAIN when nobody is home and the gates were locked, even though everything was SUPPOSEDLY done already I called TruGreen commercial AND Thompson. Trugreen had no idea what was going on, at all. No records of why people go out, and what they apply. But they did tell me that weed control and fertilization are 2 different agents applied in the same visit, not the single chemical that only says weed control. When I spoke to Thompson to tell them I wasn't getting what I was paying for, i.e. fertilization, Kim talked over me, didn't understand simple statements, and was incredulous that TruGreen had not done the services properly. AND when she got frustrated with me, she simply threatened to terminate ALL my services, including lawn mowing. I asked to speak with someone else, and her threat was the response. I need lawn mowing, so I backed down. And I will have them mow my lawn until I find someone else. Currently looking. Basically TruGreen is horrible. And Thompson uses TruGreen. And customer service at Thompson is horrible. Or at least Kim at Thompson Landscape is. Again, KIM IS REALLY BAD AT CUSTOMER SERVICE, TALKS OVER PEOPLE, DOESN'T LISTEN, AND THREATENS CUSTOMERS.

We hired Thompson over the summer to mow our lawn and trim and maintain the landscape. The service started out fine. Initially they did a nice job at maintenance, they were timely and thorough on mowing the lawn. Over a period of a few months things began to detiorate. The yard would be left messy after scheduled maintenance. There was excess debris in the pool. To make matters worse, they occasionaly began skipping mowing our back/side yard. We let it go a couple of times until it became more frequent. We reported the oversite to them and they assured it would be corrected. they made no offer of a "service call" was made (or requested) We didn't want any special attention, just for them to reliably continue to mow the back/side. Within 30 days, we reported service failures and they were unwilling to remedy the situation. On at least six occasions they failed to mow about 1/5 of the property. I have lived at this address over 12 yrs and never ever had any service provider with this record of failure. We tried in good faith to come to resolution, but they refused instead reciting their policy that we must report within 24 hours. they also blamed the fact that they "dont always send the same crew" Who checks on their lawn service within 24 hours of the lawn being done? This is ridiculous. Finally exasperated, we fired them. We strongly discourage anyone from considering Thompson Landscape. They are not customer focused and their crews are poorly supervised. .

For whatever reason, the lawn crew assigned to me decided not to mow my back yard once service commenced on April 26, 2012. I called the office when it happened and was assured that the crew would be sent back to mow the back yard. They never did. Note that my gate was unlocked on the regular service day and left open on the day the office promised they would send back the crew. I paid the full price for front and back yard mowing for the April 26th service despite the fact that the back yard was never serviced. When the lawn crew failed to mow the back yard May 3rd, I called again and was assured that the crew would return to mow the back yard the next day. They didn't, despite the fact that the gate was open. At this point my back yard was becoming an overgrown mess, so with no real confidence that Thompson Landscape would resolve the problem with the crew I terminated their service and hired another company. Today I received an invoice for the May 3rd service for the full amount, even though I had been told that for the inconvenience to me, the price would be dropped to the price for just the front yard. When I called to complain, the woman who answered the call didn't seem to have any record of my calls or what had transpired. I had to force the issue to get her to adjust the price of the invoice.at
Description of Work: Thompson Landscape has provided my lawn maintenance for several years. In the past, I had problems with the lawn crew trying to climb over my gate on days I forgot to unlock it. I made it clear that if I failed to unlock the gate, it was my fault and I would pay full price.

Member, I am sorry that you have had such an issue with the back yard getting mowed, however on May 3rd when you called to state that the back wasn't mowed, we did in fact offer a send back for your backyard and you declined that send back, that's why a crew didn't show back up. We also DID reduce the price for the final mowing down to our minimum price for front and sides only which was down to $23.00, yes, it seems almost a waste when it's only by a few dollars but $23.00 is our absolute lowest cost for a yard, which is typically for front only. Again, I apologize for the hassle that you have been through. Your gate was locked more times than not and the crew quit checking the gate after a while, they shouldn't have done this, I apologize for that. We hope that you get what you are looking for with your new lawn company and we value positive feedback, I understand we don't always get that but we do strive to work things out should there be a problem.

They are very reliable and they always come exactly when they tell me they will. They always do exactly what they say that they will and they always make sure to ask me at the beginning of the year whether I would like to change any of my services. I like that they offer an online billing system. Every month they send an invoice with the dates that they will be at my home which I think is nice. They are very responsive and customer service oriented. I have been using them for ten years and have always felt very comfortable having them around my home and on my property. A few years back I called them to ask if they could move me from an early morning time slot to a later one, because they woke up my neighbors baby and they were very accommodating to me.

They started out very professional. They sent out someone to give us a quote and they just slipped a quote under the door. The gentleman showed up with a 5 foot ladder! Not tall enough to do the work. The gentleman spoke Spanish and not very good English and didn't ring the doorbell. Instead of hand pruning and carefully trimming, they just used a power trimmer and went over the surface like a chainsaw. The finished result was not smoothly cut and was terrible. There was a lot of debris left over too.
Description of Work: They trimmed our bushes and shrubbery.

Lawn mowing was $29 a week for every other week. Takes them around 15 minutes to do both front & back. They sent another company out to do the fertilizer treatment. First treatment not effective so I called Thompson's and no answer so left voice mail canceling that. They sent me a paper confirming the services I had requested which I mailed back & told them I was very unhappy with the fertilizer service and so please cancel that. No dead weeds, no greening up of yard and they also said they treated visible fire ant mounds and nothing happened. Thompson's never responded. Later, requested they do my flower beds. Awful! THEN, I notice yellow stuff on my lawn and I had had my lawn fertilized again. My flower beds, I asked them to come back out & correct They quoted me $65, didn't even touch the backyard, left dead leaves from winter in front beds, etc. No response. I sent them email to cancel my whole service. I then sent them a certified letter return receipt. Never responded at all.
Description of Work: Gave me an estimate for lawn mowed and another for weeding and trimming flower beds, another for fertilizing and weed killer. They contract out for the last one. I was on every other week for lawn mowed and edging. Asked for the 5 fertilizer/weed killer treatments and was told they contract that out. Got estimates for all. Pampass grass is extra. A LOT extra! To trim it.

This company is very large and they bill once a month and every time they come by the house they leave a note stating that. They are very professional. They charge sales tax on their services and the estimates are more than expected. This company can provide all of your lawn and yard service needs. The man that provides flower bed maintenance does excellent work.
Description of Work: They mowed, edged, trimmed, and cleaned up the front and backyard. They also did flower bed maintenance.

They were reliable and dependable. There were no problems. They were responsive to any concerns we had and always willing to do any special jobs we requested.
Description of Work: They mowed and edged the yard once a week all summer. Then as the growing season stopped they came every two weeks until the end of November. They also did several special jobs like cleaning the flower beds and weeding per our request.
