Brent and JoAnn Rice, the Rice Group team at Compass Real Estate, are knowledgeable of the industry and professional in every way. I primarily selected them to represent my home for sale as they had lived in the neighborhood since 2000 when the first homes in the subdivision were built. With participation on the board of directors and experience with the schools which their children attended, and with their extensive knowledge of the subdivision, with its different builders and price points, they were better able to showcase, promote, and defend our home than other agents or brokers. But, beyond the advantage of subdivision specific knowledge, Brent and Joann went above and beyond to assure the best outcome in the challenging market during the summer of 2023. They held multiple open houses, always bringing treats and water, followed up on leads and kept me advised of market changes and challenges. As my neighbors as well as agents, they provided many other helpful services (which I won’t list as then every client might expect this “beyond the norm” assistance). Brent handled the contract and negotiations professionally as his many years in the Real Estate business reflect, and offered good advice related to repairs and options. Real estate is a full time job for the Rice team and their upmost concern is good communication and serving their clients to assure a successful outcome.

Fantastic. We couldn't be happier. Brent was able to position our house for a quick sale and deftly led us through negotiations with the buyer. Even more surprising was what he was able to do for us on the buy side. In the past we had bought houses (new construction) without an agent, as a lawyer and a business executive we figured we had it covered. Brent was able to identify opportunities to negotiate a better price and he alerted us to several opportunities and potential issues throughout the build and closing process. We had no idea what we were missing and would enthusiastically hire him again.

I highly recommend Brent Rice when searching for your next home! I was a first time home buyer and knew very little about the home buying process and market trends at the time. I decided to choose Brent because he seemed extremely knowledgeable of the real estate market. His knowledge came through during our initial walk throughs; he would point out items to look for beyond aesthetics, items related to safety, structural integrity, etc., that many young, first time home buyers may not be aware of. Also of importance, I decided to choose Brent because after our first meeting I got the sense that he would find the best house for me, rather than sugar coat every house in order to make a quick sale. He was definitely very patient with me. I was a picky and nervous client, and also a skeptical client. It took me a while to understand the market trends and accept the market trends, but he was very patient through it all. I searched for months and asked several questions along the way. He was available via text or phone call at all hours and was willing to show me house after house. He was right on target with what it would take to win my house, and did a great job setting up a robust offer and negotiating on my behalf. Now, I’m happily settled into my new home!

Brent Rice has been our agent for years and has always provided the best service. At times though we make regretful decisions as we did and went to another agent for our most recent house purchase. We learned our lesson the hard way and went right back to Brent in less than a week. Working with Brent was wonderful!! When I called, he always tried to set up a showing as soon as possible. When we walked into houses, he immediately started pointing out cracks and other items that we needed to take into account. When we put in contracts on several different houses, he was helpful and wise. When we got in a bidding war, he held our hand and advised us. (We got the house!) He set us up with an inspector and helped us ask for money to fix certain items. From day one, his service was outstanding!

Brent is an outstanding DFW realtor whom my wife and I cannot recommend enough. He is a step above all other realtors we’ve encountered who brag about their many years of experience but then take the cookie cutter approach to buying and negotiating on a home. On top of that, he knows the lay of the land because he’s grown up in DFW and he has the business acumen of sensing market trends to foster buyer confidence in what is otherwise a sellers’ market here in DFW. Brent comes from an underwriting Goldman Sachs background where he was frequently engaged with many C-suite stakeholders. In other words, Brent has very sharp soft-skills and knows how to approach a seller’s agent in order to motivate sellers to seal the deal. He’s a Pit Bull with the finesse and likability of a Labrador Retriever. Words are not precise enough to describe Brent. My wife and I hired Brent ~ Thanksgiving when we had to let our previous agent go after 1.5 years of house hunting. We didn’t switch to another realtor sooner because we really liked our previous realtor, but we had to make the painful business decision of letting them go to get a fresh pair of eyes on our situation before my relocation benefits expired. By ~ New Years, Brent helped us to secure a house we were pursuing with our previous agent but failed to do so as a result of our realtor getting frustrated with the sellers’ agent. There’s no other way I can put to words in describing Brent other than comparing him to a great cup of coffee. You need to experience many bad cups before you can recognize a truly great cup. For rookie home buyers who have never had to experience many bad realtors, all I can say is take a leap of faith and go with Brent. His performance will set your expectations high that in your lifetime, other realtors will pale in comparison to Brent.

My husband and I found Brent on Angie’s list back in 2014 when we decided to sell our first home as a married couple. Brent was absolutely wonderful with our home search and everything we could have asked for as first time homeowners in Texas. I initially contacted him to negotiate the house we were renting as the owner decided to sell the house. During the process there were some delays and we started looking for alternatives - another rental place, or a houses to purchase in the same school district as I don’t want to change the school district for my high schooler. We didn’t have lot of time as the owner of our rental place gave us the notice to vacate the place. He listened to our needs and our concerns and kept our expectations realistic.
