Absolutely terrible. We used this mom & pop operation for many years and was dissapointed many times. The last 3 months we used them, 9 ot of 10 times for 3 weeks they never answered their business phone or cell phones. They almost never returned calls, mostly waiting 3 weeks. Then the son, Joey, asked if I called the right number. I told him I left several messages on his cell phone which had his voice recording on it. Even after I talked with the owner Barnett, Barnett assured me we'd get better service and they'd start answering their calls. Their tech changed our filter UV lights on a Monday and one didn't work and he said he'd come back for the repair on Saturday. I need faster service than waiting 6 more days. I left several messages on Savage's business phone and Joey's cell phone. No one called me back for weeks. When you talk with this mom & pop family, you hear compassionate understanding soft talk. It is not reflective of their bad service and lack of returning calls. I told Savage's owners numerous times over the years I am disabled with multiple illness's. I've had pnuemonia 6 times in 8 years and need the UV filtering light to sterilize the air I breathe. Several times over the years I've had similar experiences in which Savage's service has been poor in getting UV lights & filters replaced, and lack of clear good communication from them. When I'd finally get thru to the owner Barnett, several times he assured me he'd get the UV light filters on time and do better service. I've used a dozen repair services over the years and I have never seen such poor service as Savage.

The technician arrived within 30 minutes of my call. He was very friendly and helpful. While heading to the attic, I pointed out a problem with my attic access ladder. He explained to me what needed to be done to repair it. When he went up into the attic, the light bulb was burned out. Being 5'5and quot; tall, i was concerned about being able to replace it without lugging a ladder up to the attic. I asked him if he would replace it for me. He said he would be happy to. He found the heater problem immediately, showed it to me, and explained why the cracked part was preventing the heat from coming on. He replaced the part, checked my filter and was finished. I have used Savage air several times in the past. They are always friendly, professional, and seem very trustworthy. I have recommended them to friends who have thanked me for the referrral and gave me with positive feedback about their experience.

I have always been using them so I used them. He is willing to work with me and I think that they are very honest. Honest would be a good work for his people. They do a good job. They didn't try to sell me the most expensive unit on their list. I told him I didn't want to spend that kind of money on it and he worked with me and understood. He told me what would be good and I felt good with it. If you have some kind of problem and you are an established client they come out immediately. If something comes up and they are not going to make it they call and tell you about it. I was very pleased with them and I will used them some more.
Description of Work: I last used Savage Air Conditioning June of last year. I needed some Freon and they checked my air conditioning.

The technician arrived on time, opened up the unit and had me turn on the air conditioner. The outside fan unit did not start and he immediately concluded that I needed a new $1150 variable-speed fan. He placed the PO for the and quot;last fan in Dallasand quot; before leaving my driveway and told me he would contact me when they picked it up. Two days later, I called back, the same technician answered the phone. I asked about the fan and he said he already had the fan and when could he come over. By this time, tomorrow morning was the best I could do. He called after his first job was done and arrived as promised. He replaced the fan and the same thing happened as before (fan won't start). He told me that the circuit board must be bad and that sometimes the fan may take out the circuit board as well. He opened up the original fan and there was no evidence of charring whatsoever. I looked at the circuit board and it had no evidence of charring either. He drove off and said he would call be back with a circuit board quote. I decided to look into the outdoor unit myself. I put back the original fan and took out their new $1150 fan. I examined the defrost control board and discovered that a gecko had crawled behind the circuit board and looked freshly dead. Once I pulled his lifeless body out, the diagnostic LED started flashing with the code that everything was okay. I put the unit back together and it cooled out house properly that night.
Description of Work: A/C unit was not cooling the house. Slightly cool air was blowing from the vents.

Called Tuesday night because our AC system was acting up. Real friendly lady gave clear and accurate pricing for service plus the cost per pound of freon. Told us to call in the morning and she'd get someone right out. Called Wed A.M., were told all the techs had been sent home because of rain. We told him we didn't have AC. He said he'd call in a tech...Waited and waited...2 p.m. we talk again -he says with all the rain and humidity in the air, we should not add freon today because it can interact with the humidity to form an acid and destroy our system. (That's NOT REALLY TRUE). We say we have an 8:45 appointment Thursday - the guy says he'll have a tech at our house at 8 a.m. Thursday, 8:30 a.m., tech arrives. Tells us they get into the office at 8 a.m. for dispatch, never arrive at a call before 8:30 and no one asked him to arrive early. He checks the freon, it's fine. We have an electrical problem. But no time left for my wife to wait and diagnose it. We call someone else.
