It went very well. This was our second time to use R & R since they also put in our back yard last year, and we liked it so well that we decided to also install in the front.

I called R & R to get a quote to repair 2 retaining walls around my flower beds and a brick surround on my tree of my garden home. They did ask for my address in the initial call. I got a voicemail today. They said they unfortunately did not have the bandwidth to deal with my issue. Not "we can't get to it right now, but we can come look and see if we can do it later"...nada...just a flat out no, sorry we can't help you. Can I just say that you should never look at a small job as a small job. I have a LOT of landscaping and sod work I need done, but the walls are critical right now due to an HOA compliance to repair the cracks immediately. Your webpage says you work with everyone...even those on a tight budget. I'm thinking you need to say you only take big jobs...not small jobs. This small job could have turned out to more for you, but you obviously don't need my business. This homeowner is disappointed that you didn't even come look to see what I needed. Businesses grow with even small jobs. Don't forget where you started. The only reason I didn't rate this an "F" is because you actually did call to blow me off. Thanks for that!

Our experience with R & R Landscape was excellent! Our project involved several categories (drainage issues, flower beds, pathways, drip irrigation, lighting etc). We spoke with three landscape companies searching for ideas and problem solvers. Richard and his team had what we were looking for, a vision, professionalism and experience. The team was always prompt, hard working and very helpful when we had questions. My wife and I are extremely demanding and critical people. She is in the apparel industry (form-based) and I am an engineer (function-based). Everyone on Richard's team, from the landscape architect to the tree climbers are friendly, professional and client-centric. They went beyond the quote to make sure we were TOTALLY satisfied.

Overall, the job went well. I read a lot of these reviews on RR knocking them for their communication and why that may have been that reviewer's experience it was not mine. I reached out to Richard to get a quote and he was very upfront with his vacation plans and his company's scheduling in the week's to come. We made it work. I called 6 total Angie List providers one of those being RR. Richard replied promptly and clued me in on what was going on with his organization, when he could get me an estimate and when his team could get the job down if I went with him. 2 others never called me back. 1 fellow did but said he could not do it and another lady said she would send me a quote but never did. The last guy gave me a decent bid but the scope was beyond what he was willing to do. It did not matter because Richard's bid encompassed it all and was reasonable. Richard and his excellent foreman Cencio came out to do a pre-start meeting with my wife and I and everyone had clarity of purpose and mission to the size, scope and timing of the job. The work was done on time and on budget. Richard was wonderful to work with as he was fair, followed up and touched base appropriately. The team that worked the project was polite and professional. They had talent and applied their skills diligently. When the job was completed there was some "punch work" to be done and it was completed with no issues whatsoever. They cleaned up well daily and made sure we knew what had taken place and what was going to happen when they came the next day. Richard and his team were all about making sure it was done right and that we, his customer, was happy and satisfied. The best thing about both Richard and Cencio was their willingness to work with us as the project went along better ideas surfaced and the RR team was flexible to make those changes and still get it all done on time. One of the changes even lowered the price and Richard did not blink an eye to pass on those savings to me. Richard came out to follow up on the job when it was all done to ensure my satisfaction. I (we) would use RR again and if you have a timeframe that needs met just ask. Richard will tell you straight away if it can be done. It was a pleasure working with him and Cencio and I would do it again in the future if need be. We got a beautiful wall, a fantastic gardening space, a yard that will no longer be swampy, and some serious mulching all for a reasonable and then reduced price. I highly recommend Richard and his team at RR. They will take care of you reasonably and respectfully.

Excellent! It turned out better than we imagined. The yard looked larger and actually turned into a space where we might want to sit outside! The project was delayed by weather but once the project started it was done as scheduled on time. The workers were prompt, efficient, polite , and tidy. They did not ever leave a mess at the end of the day and the yard looked beautiful when they finished. I would recommend this company to anyone.

I messaged R&R through Angie's list inquiring about our need to improve our landscape, initially the response was very prompt. I scheduled with the very nice person for R&R to come out and meet, it had to be the next week due to a wedding that they were attending. I cannot remember the gentleman's name that came to our home but he seemed very knowledgeable and had some ideas about what improvements we could do to make our yard really look good. I was very pleased and was anxious to get his estimate on the cost of both the front and back yards. Now, is when everything falls apart for reasons I do not know. Weeks went by without any contact or estimate, he had taken both my phone # and e-mail so he had contact information. Approximately 3 weeks after he came to our home, my husband called to inquire about their estimate (we already had an estimate from another company which I had told him I was getting at the time we met). My husband was told someone would contact us, 1 week later we had not had any contact so we called again in total we called R&R 4 times, the last time we called my husband told them if we did not hear from them by the next day we would assume that there was not interest in doing our yard. We did not hear from R&R so we called and was told by the same nice person that, "well, based on your call yesterday if you did not hear from us then I guess we not interested". We asked if there was something that we did that would make R&R respond to us in this manner and the answer was No. Wow! so disappointed in the unprofessional manner in which this company does business, I would have never guessed this on our first meeting. If they would have just told me from the beginning that they were not interested I would not have wasted weeks waiting for an estimate that would never come and I could have contacted other landscapers. I did read a review that suggested the same problem but figured it was a miscommunication thing but I think is it much more common for this company to act in this very unprofessional way. I have no doubt that their response to my review will be just as unprofessional. But I can assure anyone reading this that this is exactly what happened in our dealings with R&R the actual dates might be a little off but not the actions, which is a shame because I was really excited about their ideas for my yard, but I guess you can say anything if you have no intention of following through. BEWARE

Contacted R&R through Angie's list messaging. Got an initial reply promptly with a request for clarification. Upon clarifying I haven't heard back. I suspect they don't do exactly what I was looking for but by not responding I've now wasted a week when I could have moved on. Amazing how many companies in the landscape industry don't manage communication well. Seriously - how hard is it to reply?

Richard Barnor is an excellent operator and did an exceptional job in working with my wife and I from design through the actual planting and follow-up. This was a fairly large project and the work was done in 2 weeks. Richard's crew does one job at a time for the most part which allows for day after day progress which is a real positive. We had over twenty (20) trees planted, dozens of plants, beds made, stone borders and drainage modified as scope of the project. Both front and back yards. Follow-up on minor issues was immediate with his crew with no questions asked. Overall, this was one of the best experiences that I've ever had with a contractor so I'd highly recommend.

Richard Barnor, his daughter, Naaf Barnor, and their whole R&R team installed the second half of our landscaping project in the most timely, courteous and professional manner one could hope to have. Richard discussed with us his ideas and the reasons for them. As always, he was happy to answer all questions we had. In our experience, Richard and his entire team are enthusiastic about there work and take pride in doing their job. As we experienced with the first half of our project, the work of clearing the area for additional bedding space, amending the soil, adding water-saving drip irrigation, lighting, planting and mulching were all done carefully and thoroughly while using quality materials throughout. The work area was left neat at the end of each workday. All of Richard's team members were friendly, courteous and worked diligently throughout the day. The stone used for edging was professionally chipped and shaped to give it a natural worn look. This stone edging was used for the entirety of our new bedding. In the sloped section of the NE portion our front yard where, in the past, we could do very little, the stonework was used to build up and level this area planting beautifully. Richard's idea of using this stone as described for finishing off the new bedding is just one example of his applied artistry to give all of his clients an excellent result. Richard and the crew were wonderful! Exceeded all expectations! Always on time, kept the job site clean at all times. It entailed a huge mess to do the job but the guys left each day with it looking as though no mess was ever made! They worked extremely hard and in the extreme heat without ever slowing down to ensure the job was finished on time (we even added some extras). It is a complete oasis, we couldn't be more pleased!!! ~ To express the awesomeness of R&R Landscape, in type, doesn't do them justice - we highly reccommend them ~

We have first met with Richard a year ago, but held off on doing the project until this year. Upon reaching out to Richard, we got on his schedule fairly quickly in order to execute the work. Richard, Naas, and the whole crew are very pleasant to work with. They will ensure that the work is done right and to your liking. Richard was involved throughout the whole process and went personally to pick the plants and the tree. Richard addressed all our concerns and delivered above and beyond. Moving forward there is no shopping around for a Landscaper, Richard is our go to, and will be working on our backyard next. If you are looking to work with decent, caring, and knowledgeable professionals, then you have reached your destination! We used R&R Landscape this spring to install pavers on our front and back concrete as well as to plant trees, replace landscaping and install a border. Our yard is so beautiful now that we once again hired R & R Landscape to add 3 trees to the side of our patio to give us afternoon shade. Richard worked with us to ensure we got the right size and type of tree and advised us on where to plant to maximize the shade they provided. He also planted 3 separate groups of Pittosporum along our back fence with a design that is very pleasing. Richard is extremely patient with our constant questions and his crew is simply the best!!! We will use him going forward for all of our landscaping needs.

Richard meet with us, viewed the property and discussed ideas for our "makeover." Richard worked up a wonderful design with competitive costs agreeable to all. Richard's team came in, took out the existing concrete walkway around the pool and most of the bedding materials in the backyard. All these materials were hauled offsite. The backyard beds were modified -- plants installed, and finished off with mulch. The much-needed pergola for shade, and trellises were built, installed and stained according to Richard's design. All were done impeccably! The transformation of our backyard is amazing! It?s absolutely beautiful!! Richard and his crew are very professional, responsive and willing to design a solution that fits a homeowner's lifestyle. Richard, his daughter Naaf, Victor and the whole R&R team throughout our project were very courteous, professional, hardworking and meticulous. At the end of each workday, everything was picked up and either placed off to the side or it was removed from the property; all areas were raked, swept, hosed off, whatever was required to leave the area neat and clean. Timelines and expectations were clearly communicated. Any concern or questions following the project completion was welcomed and addressed. We highly recommend Richard and the R&R Landscape crew for a beautiful transformation of anyone?s living space! We look forward to working with him again on other projects!

He told me the job would take about 3 hours and that is about the time it took to complete. He and his workers were organized and knew what they were doing.

They actually started the project earlier in the week but got delayed due to the worst rains in Texas history. The weather finally let up enough that Richard and a full crew worked a very long day on a Saturday and got the job completed. I was a bit concerned that with all of the mud things would never be right. Richard's crew proved me wrong! They cleaned up so well that they left my property better than when they started. They even washed the sidewalk! My greyhounds absolutely love it!

R&R was very responsive when we first contacted them to bid our job. After initial contact with Richard, we had some questions, and his daughter said Richard would need to come back out to make sure we were all on the same page. We scheduled a time for that, but Richard was stuck at another job and couldn't make the appointment. Richard indicated that all the questions and changes we wanted to make could be handled over the phone. A date was set for the job to begin, but no one showed up that day. After a second day passed with no one showing up to begin our work, I called the office to ask what was going on, thinking I may have gotten the date wrong. Richard was attending a funeral and his daughter said they would be out the next day to begin the work, and they were. We were very happy with the quality of the work and the speed at which the workers worked. Richard was on site at the beginning of the job and available by phone on the couple of occasions that we needed to correct what the workers were doing. Since then, we have had some questions and tried to contact Richard via email to get a few things addressed. He has not yet responded to the email. My husband will be calling in the next few days to see if we can get a couple things resolved. Overall, we are very happy with R&R Landscaping, and would use them again and likely refer our friends. The one thing I would change is the response time after a job has been finished and paid in full. I know the spring is the busiest time of year for most landscape companies, but it would make the overall experience stellar (and set R&R apart from most other companies) if the customer service after the sale matched what we experienced prior to the sale.

I cannot say enough good things about R&R Landscape. Naaf, Richard and their crew were simply amazing. Since purchasing our home we have had a great deal of contractors inside and out and these folks are or should be the example of what service, integrity, hard work, follow up and follow through should be. We want to invite them over for dinner in our new backyard. We are so pleased with them as contractors, and beyond pleased at the work they did. We gave them an idea of what we wanted to do and Richard was so great in making suggestions and recommendations based on our vision and it all turned out perfect. The best thing is that he was extremely fair in the pricing with regards to the additions. I would hire them back in a minute and will do so when our next project comes up. Do yourself a favor and hire these incredible people.
