Plano Overhead Garage Door

Susan the sales person was very helpful. She invited us down to her showroom so we could look at some options on garage doors. We wanted a custom door, so she ordered it for us and told us they would receive it in two weeks and call us to schedule installation. They called us a couple of weeks later, scheduled a time of 8 am the following day to install. The installer showed up promptly at 8 am, and had it totally installed by noon. They cleaned up and hauled away the old door. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Showroom staff (owner) was very knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy. The doors, although not in stock, were ordered and delivered as promised (within two weeks). The workmanship of the installation was A++. After two months, I have had zero problems and no reasons to request maintenance or adjustments. Price was reasonable and fair for the excellent service and products.

Generally, the company did fairly well but not the level of service I expected given their high scores in the List. I mentioned Angie's List to their install rep on several occasions but he personally had not heard of them. I printed the $25 coupon from the List website and at first he said it was a rebate offer but a call to their office corrected the situation. The install went a bit longer than expected, it took approximately 2 hours after a 30 minute 'heads up' call to finish. The install rep had no qualms borrowing my fan but did not return the fan and cord to where he found them. Several hanging items were removed from the walls around the workspace and not returned to where they came from. Several pieces of loose hardware were found around the workspace after the service rep had left. Overall the experience was adequate but less than I expected.

8:50 AM garage door opener stop working, after searching Angie's list for a company that could come and check the system I called Plano Overhead and they were very professional in their service, they had somebody come to my house at 2 PM and after telling me about the problems and the estimate I gave the the green light to do the job. It was started that same day and completed by 5:30 PM. CJ did an impeccable work, clean, organized, and very courteous. Took his time to explain the new system and even gave me a discount. My problem was fixed, the result was 10 times better than the original product and I am a very happy costumer. Thank you Angie's list, it made my problem not such a problem and thanks to Plano Overhead my problem was resolved in a timely manner.

Prompt, efficient and courteous service provided would prompt me to recommend this business and call them again when such a repair needed.

I called Plano Overhead Garage on a Monday at around 1:30 pm, explained my situation, and said that they would have a technician out there between 3 pm and 3:30 pm. Thomas and Ernie came promptly at 3 pm. They took a look at our garage and explained what the different cost was to replaced the metal cable. I also asked if they can take a look at the new garage door opener that my husband had installed and see if they could make heads or tails of it. Ernie took a look and said that he would be able to fix it. Not only was I very happy to have our garage door fixed but pleasantly surprised when I received the invoice. They had just invoiced me for replacing the metal cables. I knew that lifted a very heavy weight off my husband's shoulders. They were done by 3:45 pm! Wow, I wish everything else was this easy. I was hoping it would just be the remote opener that needed replacing but because my system was over 20 years old, a new one needed to be installed which included new tracking. I also opted to have the wheels on the door replaced for an extra $60.

We had a service guy at our house the day after we called Plano Overhead. We have had them service our old door and our opener in the past and have always been pleased. Thomas appeared promptly at 8:30 am and was finished within 2 hours. He cleaned up the garage and driveway completely and hauled away the old wooden door.

Todd was on time and very professional. He assessed the problems quickly and did not try to oversell the service required. He was honest about needing the concrete edging on our garage floor trimmed back before a new door could be hung. The estimate seemed reasonable. He was here for a total of 45 minutes.

Besides coming within a couple of days of being called to replace the garage door opener, they came back two days later when the door would not open (which was not due to the work they had done). The technician re-adjusted the door and only charged me for the materials used to re-strip the bottom and not for the followup service call. He even programmed my car for the new opener. I was very happy with the service and would use them again.

This company provides the most professional and the most polite technicians I've ever worked with. They were prompt, arriving even earlier than the time they promised they'd be. They were very reasonable and reputable. I never call anyone else besides Plano Overhead Garage Door.

Very easy to work with. Called at 8:30am and the job was done by 11:00am. The technician adjusted the springs and lubricated as requested, and commented on other things to look for. Did not try to sell a bunch of unnecessary things typical for garage door companies. Price more reasonable than expected.

The technician was on time, friendly, helpful, clear in his explanations, & confirmed that I understood the costs & the various aspects of installation. I had bought a new garage door from them last fall & I requested the same technician, because he was prompt, efficient, helpful, & didn't try to pressure me into buying anything I didn't want or need.

An excellent experience, overall, from the person who took my call to the completion of the job. The person who took my call was very efficient and friendly. The repairman was there the very next day to give me an estimate. He was right on time (I lost almost no time from work), and he answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable. So I scheduled the repair for the following Saturday (yes, they work on Saturday and so I didn't have to take any time off work). A different repairman came, and he was just as knowledgeable, professional, and punctual. He was efficient, knew exactly what to do, and wasted no time at all. The job was completed in a couple of hours, and they cleaned up everything. They charged me exactly what they said on the estimate. They did a great job, and the door has been working perfectly. Have had no problems at all. I would highly recommend them. The work was completed on 02/18/06.

Repairman was prompt, courteous, quick, professional. Discussed with me several items that would need to be replaced in future, how long I could probably wait before replacing them, etc.

These guys were great. Very helpful on the phone and always early or on time. They were straight forward and honest. They gave me options to repair, replace or buy my own opener and they would install. They were quick and efficient and my door works great now. Highly recommend.

I had the work quoted back in July, and even though I didn't get around to having the work done until December, they performed the work for the quoted price. The installer was prompt, courteous, and cleaned up properly when he was done. We are happy with the work.

THEY CALLED ME BACK, THEY WERE ON TIME, HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING, AND IT WAS AN ALL-AROUND EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE.

CALLED @ 8AM TO ARRANGE AN APPOINTMENT FOR A BROKEN SPRING. TOLD ME 9:30 AM WOULD BE GOOD AND THEN I REALIZED COULDN'T LIFT DOOR FOR MY WIFE TO LEAVE FOR WORK. SO THEY SHOWED UP AT 8:35 TO OPEN THE DOOR FOR HER AND START REPAIRING THE SPRINGS. THE SERVICEMAN LEFT AT 9:40 HAVING REPLACED THE SPRINGS, CLEANING, ADJUSTING AND SERVICING THE DOOR WITHOUT A HINT OF DUST THAT HE WAS HERE. HE WAS VERY COURTEOUS, FRIENDLY, AND KNEW HIS DOORS! HAVING LOOKED THEM UP ON ANGIES LIST, I HAD A GOOD IDEA OF PRICES AND HE WAS RIGHT ON WITH OTHER REPORTS.

GOOD. THE DOOR WORKS FINE. THE REPAIRMEN CAME AT THE APPOINTED TIME, WORKED QUICKLY AND LEFT.

GOT ESTIMATE ON FRIDAY, WORK DONE ON MONDAY. SHOWED UP ON TIME AND DID VERY GOOD WORK. ELECTRICAL WIRE TO RUN OPENER, MOTOR WAS WORN AND WAS REPLACED BY AN EXTENSION CORD FROM MY GARAGE THAT I USE FOR OUTDOOR CLIPPERS. WIRE WAS NOT SECURED TO WALL OR CEILING. OTHERWISE VERY SATISFIED.
