The work we had done looked great for about 90 days then things started to peel and turned into a 2 year nightmare. They claim they have a 3 year material and labor warranty on all work, and are even BBB and Angie A+ rated. They came out at once and repaired immediately. Over the next 3 months the same areas peeled again and many other areas throughout the house also began to fail. That’s when the nightmare began. They failed to respond to multiple requests to come and evaluate the problem. It took a threat to go to the BBB and social media to get a response. Then delay after delay. Excuse after excuse. The last time they were out he even caused more damage to the floor and I was told that it would be taken care of. All lies. Now it seems they have disappeared in regards to fulfilling their guarantee. I filed a formal complaint with the BBB on this A+ rated company. They were given 30 days to respond to them but failed to respond even to the BBB of which they WERE an accredited member. As of today (5/2021) they are no longer an “accredited member”, and their rating is being evaluated presently. Just shows you what type of company this is now. Some will say this is just an attack and that might well be, but I played the game, did my research and still got burned. I really would not want anyone else to go through this. Don’t take the chance with this company. I am sure there are many more skillful, honest and trustworthy concrete flooring companies in your area.

Left message. No follow up contact has been made since June. This is more of an expected occurrence from three vendors on your list. I believe the job as described did not fit the effort they would put into it and everyone chooses to ignore these smaller requests. At least, that is what the engineer who reviewed the problem has explained to me. I have contacted four on Angies List, and three not on your list. Only one has replied. I have had to resort to having our real estate department in another state send me recommended companies. I have filled in the areas to enable this message to get back to Angies List. Estimated Costs, time to start or complete and last contact are given in place of an exact date or amount.
Description of Work: No follow up from provider.

The patio was stripped and then color was re-added. Once completed it was sealed with an acrylic top coat twice. The patio looks better than it did when it was new. The crew was punctual, polite and very progressional. We would highly recommend Artisan Decocrete to anyone needing concrete work or repairs done. Brad and his team were outstanding in every regard.
Description of Work: We had our large stamped concrete patio refinished. The patio had suffered damage in a severe hail storm and was in an overall weathered and deteriorated state. The color was faded significantly and there was pitting and other surface damage.

We were very impressed with the entire process with Brad and his crew. They were very professional from the estimate to the final clean up. Through entire process our home was handled with great care.
Description of Work: We had a wood floor replaced with decorative concrete in a large portion (400 sq ft) of our newly renovated condo. Brad and his crew had to pull the existing floor up and then had to level the floor and apply the overlay. During this process they sectioned off the area worked on keeping the remaining portion of our home neat and clean. They also took away any demo debris and ensured via their vacuum system that our home remained dust free.

If you are considering using Artisian Decocrete Inc. or Plano Concrete Flooring, think again. What was supposed to be a two day job beginning on 2/18/13 took more than a month and 4 different applications for Brad Kinsman and his questionably qualified crew to turn our kitchen, laundry and bathroom floors into an ugly, over-epoxied moonscape that wasn't even fit for our dog house. Brad blames the floor rather than his incompetence. His final solution to this horrible nightmare was to put yet another failed application on our floor. My wife and I had enough and decided to tile instead. We told Brad he could keep our $1000 deposit if he removed the massive amount of epoxy and micro finish to make the floors tile ready. He complied yet his apparently disgruntled crew had little or no respect for our property. They took a day and a half to grind off the glop but failed to put up a dust barrier. So, there is a thick layer of white dust all over our newly installed granite, wood floors and freshly painted walls. When we asked Brad to return our home to the way he found it by cleaning up the mess, he told us he’d give us $100 for maid service if we signed a document that stated we wouldn't give him bad reviews. My wife and I agreed we wanted no part of his hush money or to deal with him any further. So, we are now giving Angie's List members fair warning to run, not just walk away from this shady character and his unfounded claims, total lack of professionalism and extremely poor customer service.

Response from Plano Concrete Flooring
I would like to take this opportunity to address Mr. (member name removed)'s complaints and half-truths. Due to unforeseen problems with the owner’s slab, this project certainly took much longer than anticipated; however, we never promised a “two day job”. It is simply impossible to demo the existing ceramic tile, grind the slab, apply the overlay system, acid stain, seal and wax in two days. Mr. (Member name removed) was having an extensive home remodel performed on his house and what he failed to mention when he states that it took “more than a month” is that due to this remodel, there were weeks where my crew wasn't even allowed to be in the home. Although this was a challenging project for all who were involved, the lines of communication regarding the process were always open between me and Mr. (Member name removed). His calls were always answered and if for some reason, I was unavailable, they were almost immediately returned. Despite the challenges that were encountered, I made it my goal to find a suitable solution that would work for him, as customer satisfaction is always my #1 priority. After I had exhausted all of my resources, I brought in an outside consultant to help address the problem. The issue at hand was a very porous slab with no vapor barrier; these factors allowed for a tremendous amount of air movement up through the slab. I have never seen this degree of out-gassing in my almost ten years of flooring experience (and neither had the consultant with over 20 years). It is truly unfortunate that this condition managed to get over looked. The sad truth is that it wasn't even apparent until after we completed the sealing of the stained micro finish overlay. At that point, we were forced to address the problem from the topside with a “thicker” sealing product that would stay in place and not allow the air through. Those applications ultimately failed (from an aesthetics standpoint) and we all agreed that we would grind the slab back to bare concrete. When the work was performed, a completely different crew utilized 7” grinders with top-of-the-line dust shrouds and 3” hoses attached to a SASE Bull Commercial Vacuum that is taller and wider than most men.(Look it up, it's quite impressive!) There is absolutely no chance that the grinding caused the level of dust that (member name removed) is referring to. In fact, he fails to mention that he had other contractors in the home performing a complete master bathroom renovation (carpentry, sheetrook and plumbing) at the same time and even after we were there. I stopped by the following day to check to make sure the work was done properly but he had already changed the garage code and removed the front door key from the hiding spot. I left him a voice message that day, Tuesday, but it took him until Friday to contact me regarding the “thick layer of dust”. At this point, I felt that (Member name removed) and his wife were taking advantage of the situation but, even still, offered to have their place cleaned professionally with the stipulation that they would sign a release stating that I was done, that they would not hold me responsible for any damages to their property and they would not speak ill of our company online. In retrospect, maybe that wasn't the best way to handle that, but I knew, at that point, I would likely be writing this letter and others, right or wrong, defending my good name. Unfortunately, some lessons are harder learned and as with anything, we have to adapt and move forward. Rest assured, we have now implemented processes in which we are able to detect these types of issues before any work is performed and provide a no-fail solution to our customers. Respectfully; Brad Kinsman
