Somebody that I trusted recommended Paradise Air to me. When they came and did work they claimed there was something wrong and the only way I could prove it was to get a second opinion. I later found a report on Angie's List where Paradise Air did the same thing to someone else and they found out because they got a second opinion and there was actually nothing wrong. I paid for a whole bunch of stuff that I didn't need but I couldn't prove I didn't need it. The owner will not let you get a word in edge wise. A delivery held them up so it took a long time to do the job and once they got the part they rushed to get done and didn't do the wiring correctly. The work is sloppy because he had to come back the next day and fix the wiring.
Description of Work: Paradise Air installed two new air conditioning systems.

Response from Paradise Air Inc
I had two new employees on this job and both led me to believe they knew more about the business then reality. I apologize for any inconvenience as our labor force in the industry is "thin" with individuals that are qualified to perform repairs and pass a background check. Both employee's were terminated shortly after this job was completed. If theres anything else we can do Please let me know. Mike Krause

Our entire ac/heating system for one zone in the house needed replacing. Mike Krause, the owner of Paradise Air, Inc., came to my home to assess the job. He performed a Heat Load Calculation. This was absolutely necessary to determine what size unit we needed. Mike was extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. He helped us decide which unit to purchase based on our particular circumstances. Two days after my meeting with Mike he was at my home with his two man crew to do the install. Though Mike didn't stay the entire day he came periodically to check on the crew's progress. The workmen were polite, professional, and hardworking. They were careful taking equipment in and out of my home. The next day Mike came to inspect the work. He pointed out and explained how the system works to my husband. Mike also answered any questions my husband had. Before leaving Mike provided us with a folder containing paperwork securely held in it . Very professionally done, it had a title page with the installation date, Certificate of Product Rating, Owner's Manual for all the equipment that was installed, and Warranties. He even included a business size thank-you note for giving him our business. We highly recommend Mike Krause for his customer service and excellence in running Paradise Air, Inc.
Description of Work: Mike Krause performed a heat load calculation to access the cooling needs for a zone in our home. This revealed that a 2.5 ton ac unit was needed to replace the 3 ton unit that was no longer working. Mike's team of two came early and installed a new 2.5 ton Trane XR13 SEER condensing unit; new Trane 2.5 ton cooling coil and emergency drain with overflow switch; new Trane furnace; new concrete slab and electric whip; cleaned R-22 freon from freon lines so puron freon would work; added new supply plenum with balancing dampers; new return plenum with 4" Honeywell filter; new Honeywell thermostat and added 1-12" return duct; The crew put drop cloths down to protect my carpet while they worked in my house. Don't assume you should replace an ac unit with the exact ton capacity you had previously. Do a heat load calculation. Even if you have someone servicing your ac units every year don't assume they are the best choice for doing the install. That company may be excellent at maintenance, but not as proficient at installs. Especially if your ac breaks during the hottest time of year, get at least three estimates. I saved over $1,300.00 by not hiring the company who performed the yearly maintenance and hiring Paradise Air, Inc. instead. After you receive the written estimate from the company you think is best call a few other companies. Using the specific info. you have from the estimate--type of unit with specs--check to see if the bid is comparable to what others are charging. This will let you know if the bid is fair and reasonable.

They came out and he did $450 worth of work. Then he told me I was going to need a new motor. I called an electrician to come out and he said there weren't any problems. So I called the owner and told him about this. He said based on what we are allowed to do he thought I needed a new motor. He didn't even apologize. I wasn't very happy and probably won't use him again.
Description of Work: They came out to change the filter on my A/C

Response from Paradise Air Inc
Customers complaint was not cooling and unit frozen up. We found several problems with system. Unit was very dirty from lack of maintenance and low on refrigerant. We leak checked system and found freon leaks in the evaporator coil. The 450$ repair charge was; the service call, cleaning the outdoor unit and adding refrigerant to the system to get it to cool properly. Customer declined repairing refrigerant leak and only wanted refrigerant added. While we were recharging the refrigerant into the system the furnace breaker tripped. After further investigation and testing, the motor was "pulling" to many amps per the manufactures recommendations. Customer declined repairs to motor. I have no idea what the electrician found or if he increased the size of the breaker and allow the motor to run outside its recommended parameters. Either way the customer wanted me to give him back the 450$ because of the breaker issue. The repairs we performed had nothing to do with the motor or breaker issue. It was a freon issue and lack of maintenance. Mike Krause
