Marott Contractors, Inc. is a small company specializing in Cabinet Refacing and New Cabinetry. I have owned and operated my cabinet business for over 25 years. I have personally trained all of my employees. We construct all of the components in our climate controlled shop. We are your turn key contractor for Cabinet Refacing & New Cabinetry.
Description of Work: Scott Marott did a fantastic job coordinating our kitchen upgrade. We had him replace a double oven(involved modifying the built in cabinet), he built and installed a new cabinet/drawer to put in place of a built-in trash compactor, replaced old countertops with granite, replaced the sink/faucet, and replaced the gas cooktop.. He also replaced the old range vent, and redid much of the old backsplash/tile. We purchased all of the replacement appliances and he installed them. We were without the sink and cooktop for only two days. The entire job spanned less than ten days. Scott is extremely communicative, personable, and easy to work with. We recommend him very highly.

Description of Work: Worked for almost a year trying to find the right color for resurfacing our cabinets. Finally got the color right and then Scott never returned our calls/texts to do the final drawing to redo the kitchen. Now I am stuck with $200 of special order cabinet knobs and pulls and no new cabinets. We have seen his work and it is spectacular but returning calls is not his strong suit.

Description of Work: We have lived in our home for over 30 years old and are the original owners. Although we had upgraded virtually every room in our home, we had not changed the cabinetry in the kitchen or the bathrooms and I knew I wouldn’t be happy until we had replaced all the cabinetry. Because we already have a travertine backsplash and granite countertops in the kitchen, we knew we did not want to change the countertops. We had researched cabinet refacing and felt that was the way to go for our home. We attended the Irving Convention Center Home Remodeling Show in January 2013. After meeting Scott with Marott Contractors, we knew he was the contractor for us. I will admit that it took me quite some time, actually, over a year, to finally decide on the cabinet style and finish, but the finished product was well worth the wait. We elected to go with brand new upper cabinets in our kitchen and refacing of the bottom cabinets. The cabinets in our utility room and two bathrooms were also refaced. Scott is a professional, extremely knowledgeable and patient. He made suggestions, but was never pushy. The cabinets were installed in the timeframe quoted and my home was left as clean as when they arrived. We are incredibly happy with the cabinets and definitely recommend Marott Contractors.

Description of Work: "Marott Construction refaced all kitchen cabinet doors with beautiful knotty alder wood. Kitchen island and cabinets under the cooktop were replaced with slide out drawers. Craftsmanship was impeccable and Scott was a true professional. I really appreciated the weekly check-ins via phone prior to the installation with progress updates. When the date finally arrived for installation his crew was well organized and completed the project ahead of schedule. Marott Contractors exceeded all of our expectations and delivered a beautiful | Kitchen that I am most proud."

Scott builds the cabinet doors, and drawers in our case, at his shop and when he comes to the house they are ready for installation. All work in our kitchen was completed on 5 days. Scott arrived on Monday morning around 8:30 am and was out of our house by Friday afternoon. Since the majority of the work is done at Scott's workshop, the disruption at our house was less than one full week. In addition, Scott was here each day and kept track of the work, while working himself, of course. We appreciated the fact that the person we discussed the project with, talked to about design choices and allowed into our home to work was the same person throughout the entire process. There were clear understandings about what we wanted and Scott kept in touch to make sure any small decisions that he made were to our liking. The kitchen looks like it is totally new. The soft close drawers are fabulous, the cabinet doors are of very high quality and we can barely remember what the kitchen looked like before the change. If you want to remodel your kitchen, Marott is a company worth considering.
Description of Work: We had our kitchen cabinets refaced, extending them so they now reach the ceiling, one additional cabinet built over the regrigerator, our countertops replaced with granite, our backsplash replaced, our cooktop replaced, and sinks and faucets replaced. We also had an appliance lift installed (appliance is on shelf that can be raised and lowered without unplugging). The appliance lift is the best invention ever! Scott also replaced all drawers. We had the area under the sink replaced with higher quality wood. We did not change the layout of the kitchen nor did we change the floor. We hired Scott after he provided a thorough estimate and after looking at prior work he had done and reading reviews of other Angie's List users. He was flexible with scheduling, completed the work on time and was at the job site at least 95% of the time.

After meeting Scott at the Dallas Home Show in 2012, I kept his card for future needs. We contacted him in January 2013. He scheduled our initial meeting and was prompt and courteous. He presented his products and made some suggestions as well. I asked many questions, and after we finalized what we wanted, he presented a quote. We compared this with other contractors and decided on Scott to do the work. He was able to plan our install beginning Feb 25. He contacted us every week to update us on the details and to help us with other items we decided to install. On install day, he and his assistant Mark arrived promptly at 8:00. My cabinets are beautiful! More than I could every imagine. All of the extra attention to detail and his continued communications made for a very easy week. Not only did he do great work, he recycles what he can, and cleans up after the job was done. I am a question-asker....and had many for Scott. But, he was very patient and kind, and loved that I was so attentive to the project. We had a great week, and I've had many compliments on my new kitchen! I haven't found anything I wouldn't change, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Thanks, Scott!!!!!
Description of Work: I had cabinet refacing, plus additional custom cabinets made. Also, new countertops and backsplach. And all new appliances installed.

There were a couple of delays on Scott's part in getting to the installation date but when it came to the date to get it all done, everything went as planned on Scott's part. They assembled the island base and removed the existing vanity top in the Master bath. The fabricator's crew ran late and when they attempted to put the stone top on the island, they almost dropped it and in the process of moving the top they damaged some of the finish on a portion of the island. Scott and his helper were able to fix the damage. All in all I have been very happy with the end product. The cabinet work is beautiful and of superior quality. The kitchen island is one of a kind (so far). I would recommend Marott to anyone who plans on investing in superior craftsmanship. I am typing this review at my island. The island is well used and I think a piece of art in my kitchen. The only negative was the experience with the stone fabricator. The island top and the vanity top with under mounted sink turned out fine but I would not use them in any future projects. That is why I gave Marott a "B" rating instead of an "A".
Description of Work: Built and installed a custom island in the kitchen and replaced the countertop in the master bath. I contacted Scott Stack of Marott Contractors after getting two quotes from other sources. I was looking for a kitchen island in my L-shaped kitchen that would both provide storage and a gathering spot in the kitchen/den. I wanted it to be big and chunky. I already knew that I wanted the island to support a slab of rain forest stone (some call it marble or granite) from India. The backsplash of the existing cabinrts is made up of tiles of the same stone and were my inspiration for the top of the island. I had the kitchen redone by a big box store several years earlier using Kraftmaid maple cabinets in a cream breadboard front. Kraftmaid no longer produced this style and I wanted to match the style of the cabinets but not the color for the island. Additionally, if I could not find the stone for the top I was not interested In going forward with the project. I also wanted the same stone used to replace the vanity top in the master bath. Scott was very responsive and listened to my design ideas when we met. One of the previous bids I received from another source was cheaper but used a bead board veneer and the bid did not match my request for deep pan storage drawers. I felt that Scott listened to me and with some design modifications to fit the size of the Kitchen island base, came up with a design proposal that included a pull out trash/recycle bin, two large deep storage drawers on one side and two cabinets under the eat in side to maximize storage. He was also able to locate a source for the stone and I went out and viewed and approved the stone slab. I had a defective door from the earlier kitchen remodel for Scott to use in the cabinet design for the island. The design included four corner posts to match the existing color of the cabinets, the remaining wood work was to be black to match the majority of my appliances. The cabinets were to be solid maple with no veneers. Scott indicated that he would have wood cutters made to match the existing cabinet design. Scott subbed out the stone fabrication. While Scott was responsive and prompt I was not impressed with his fabricator for the stone. I had to follow up with Scott a couple of times to get in contact with the fabricator to come out and measure the vanity top.

I first talked to Scott at a home and garden show and was very impressed with his professionalism and the before and after pictures he showed me. He was very prompt to call afterwards to set up an appointment to discuss what I wanted done. At that appointment, he showed me samples of door styles and finishes that he could do. He also gave me ideas for things I might want to consider doing, but he never tried to steer me toward doing anything I didn't want. He gave me an itemized proposal for the work, which detailed exactly what was and was not included in his price. I had previously been given an estimate from a big box store for just the cabinet refacing, with nothing else included, and it was almost as much as everything in Scott's proposal. Scott kept me informed about what was happening during the time he was building my cabinet doors and when he would get me on the schedule for installation. He was also very patient with me when I changed my mind several times over certain decisions I had to make during the whole process. He urged me to call him whenever I had a question, which I did frequently When the installation began, Scott was on site at all times, working alongside his employee. They did the installation in two days and I was amazed at how beautiful the cabinets are. I appreciated that he was also there the day the countertop was installed, even though the installation was done by the granite company and he didn't have to be there. When my back splash tile was a week late getting here, he was willing to have it put in over the weekend, if necessary, so that I would have a completely finished kitchen as soon as possible. I don't think most contractors would be willing to do that. I can't think of a thing that I would change about the whole experience of working with Marott Contractors, unless it would be that I had found them sooner! I believe that Scott will do whatever it takes to ensure that every customer is completely satisfied with the work they do and I will be recommending them to anyone I know who is looking at updating their kitchen.
Description of Work: All existing kitchen cabinets were refaced and upper cabinets were extended to ceiling; new cabinet built over kitchen desk area; crown molding added to all upper cabinets; lighting added under upper cabinets and over sink; granite countertop, under mount composite sink, and travertine back splash installed.

This past August my husband and I went to the Fort Worth Home and Garden Show. We were looking specifically for a company to do our kitchen cabinet reface job. We called 3 of the vendors to come to our home to give us an estimate, Marott Contractors was one of them. Scott was the only contractor that was on time, dressed professionally, and gave us and estimate that was in our price range. He provided wood samples, door style samples and color choices. Before we signed the contract we requested that he provide us with a previous customer that we could not only call, but go to their home to see his finished work. The homeowners had nothing but praise for Scott and his work. He gave us a timeline as to when the cabinets would be complete and ready to install. He promised that he would call us with an update every Friday, and he did just that. In addition to choosing the stain color, we wanted the cabinets gel coated; Scott made 3 exact door samples using the wood we choose, the door style we choose and the stain color we choose with 3 different intensities of the gel color for us to choose from. The cabinets were done when promised. Scott arrived at our home for the install at the time he promised. He and his employee covered our kitchen and family room with pads to keep the dust down as much as possible. They we very neat and cleaned up each day they were here. As for the cabinets; they were well above our expectations. When I saw them completed for the first time, without sounding sappy, I was so emotional, I was moved to tears. Scott is an artist and a craftsman beyond any I have seen. Highly recommended
Description of Work: Kitchen cabinets were resurfaced, and 1 upper cabinet was custom built to match others.

Scott worked with my wife and I to design all the cabinets for our new home. He met with us in Dallas some 90 miles away to assist us in selecting all of our granite material. He coordinated the processing of the granite and constructed our cabinets without any seams in the cabinet counter tops. Scott also helped with the selection of sinks and cabinet hardware. The quaintly of his work was outstanding demonstrating a true mastery of cabinetry design, construction, and installation. The level of Scott's service was outstanding at each step of the process. If one needs a quality set of cabinets and an outstanding level of service, Marott Contractors is a great choice.
Description of Work: Scott designed, constructed, and installed all of the cabinets for our new home including the kitchen, entertainment center, three bathrooms, utility room, and pantry.

Scott was extremely professional, timely, and did exactly what he said he committed to doing. In the planning stages he offered ideas and suggestions in the planning process, and provided plenty of samples for us to make decisions from. He provided timely updates letting us know where he was in the process of preparing our cabinets, and never missed a date or time when he said he would be there. The total project lasted 5 days, and ran like clockwork. His team cleaned up every night, so the kitchen was as usable as possible. There was very little mess. When the project was completed, he made sure it was cleaned up to our satisfaction. The quality of the work and product was excellent, and we are very pleased with our purchase. We highly recommend Marott Contractors, and will definitely use them again for any future projects.
Description of Work: Scott refaced all existing cabinets, removed an existing cabinet, and added a new cabinet, opening up the kitchen. He replaced Formica counter tops with granite, and added a Travertine tile back splash. He also added a floor to ceiling cabinet in our laundry room that matched existing cabinets.

PRODUCTS: Scott uses all hardwood for his cabinets. You choose the wood and the stain and work with him on the designs. He can configure the cabinet any way you want and his unique design ideas that the normal person would never think of. He builds drawers using dovetail joints, soft-close rails for drawers, and soft-close hinges for doors. He submitted a detailed design drawing with dimensions and full description of the wood, stain, cabinet, drawers, opening for the wine cooler, electrical placement, tear out schedule and installation description. His proposal was far more detailed than I could have imagined. PRICE: Scott submitted his initial quote to us at $2600. I showed it to the owner of the company we were using for flooring and granite and he said he would build us the same design for $2000. He contracts that type of work to a cabinet maker in Lewisville and assured us we would be happy with it. Even with the price difference I knew that I wanted Scott to do the work. I contacted him, discussed the two offers and expressed my interest in working with him. I told him I knew his work would be better quality with better materials and asked him to help just a little bit on the price. He offered it at $2450 and we jumped on it. Not a huge discount but I appreciated his willingness to work with us and I'm not disappointed that we spent the extra money. DELIVERY: Working with two contractors would typically make you crazy. Scott made it easy. He contacted the other company to discuss their installation timeline and when he could fit his install between the ceramic tile install and the granite install. He figured out he had a one day window from the day they would finish grouting the tile, until they could install the granite. Scott catered his build time around completing his project inside of this window. He nailed it. He tore out our old island the day he came back to the house to sign the contracts, before the tile was to be installed. Several days in advance he told us he would be ready to install first thing Thursday morning after the tile group finished Wednesday and before the granite group was to come Friday morning. He called first thing Thursday and said he was on his way and showed up about 10 minutes earlier than he estimated. Scott and his assistant brought the finished product into the kitchen and it definitely required two people. As promised, its solid wood and you can tell by how heavy it is. INSTALLATION: Scott used solid wood footing brackets that he bolted into the concrete slab then nailed the island to the brackets after making 100% sure that the counter was perfectly level. It?s not moving anywhere. He rewired the electrical and reviewed each detail of the product while my wife and I marveled at the beauty and craftsmanship of the finished work. FINISHED PRODUCT: There?s a pass-through cabinet with solid wood adjustable height shelf that can be accessed by both sides of the island. I?m the chef of the house and it was important to me to have accessible utensil storage. Scott?s idea was one that he has used at his own house. A pullout cabinet sized drawer with three built in steel ?buckets?. It looks like a full cabinet on the outside, but it pulls out to reveal all of my spatulas, spoons, and ladles, neatly organized within the drawer and easily accessible when I?m standing in front of the stove. We chose hickory wood with black stain to have a beautiful contrast against our existing oak cabinets. With the Wine Cooler installed along with the new flooring and exotic granite, the beauty and craftsmanship exceeds our expectations. FOLLOW UP: A few days after everything was installed, Scott called to ask questions about the work he had done. He wanted feedback on the work, design, install, everything. This is a master craftsmen that takes nothing for granted and with every job wants to know how he can improve. I told him the work was amazing, but in hind sight if there was one thing that we both could have thought of was to recess the power outlet to allow the wine cooler to slide in easier. The power plug cause the cooler to slide in a little snug, but it fit because he built the opening exactly to the manufacturer?s installation specifications which he took the care to look up before he created the design. In the future, that minor detail will be added to all his future work I?m sure. THE REVIEWS: I?ll start with the owner company that did the tile and granite. When he saw the finished work he said, ?This is beautiful. What my contractor would have built for you would have been nowhere near this beautiful.? That right there was all I needed to hear to know that I made the right decision to pay the extra money for Scott?s work. Friends and family are blown away with the work Scott did on the cabinet. The new floor and granite is great but the new island truly stands alone. FUTURE WORK: We have already received an estimate for Scott to build a locker/storage system in our laundry room later this Spring. I?m also considering the possibility of having him customize our master closet. I couldn?t be happier with Marott Contractors and if you?re a homeowner looking for work done to truly beautify your home, you owe it to yourself to contact Scott to do the work for you. You will NOT be disappointed.
Description of Work: Scott Stock from Marott Contractors designed and custom built a new kitchen island to accommodate an under counter Electrolux Wine Refrigerator for my wife and I. He visited our home to view our kitchen and discuss in detail what my wife and I were trying to accomplish with our kitchen remodel. We contacted Scott from a referral even though we had already made the decision to work with another company on our kitchen tile and granite countertops. During Scott's first visit to our home, I could tell immediately that he is a true professional and is very serious and meticulous when it comes to his craft. He asked us countless questions regarding our goals and visions for our kitchen makeover. He measured everything and presented us with wood samples and his visual portfolio of his work. From the before and after photos of his work and his description of how he constructs everything I knew that if it was possible, we were going to have Scott build our kitchen island.

I just want to rave about Scott and his associate. We originally received a quote from one of the well known "big box" stores. Then received the quote from Marott, which was right in line with the original quote, but for REAL wood! I did check on reference before beginning the actual work and each person I spoke with had only praises for Scott. After meeting and deciding to upgrade to deep drawers in place of cabinets the cost was minimally higher. We also opted to get the "soft close" doors & drawers, absolutely heavenly! They arrived ON TIME, cleaned up after themselves, finished the job ON TIME and were pleasant and courteous at all times. Without a doubt, they know what they are doing and made what might be stressful time,a joyful pleasant experience. I recommend them with absolutely no reservations. Our kitchen looks better than it did originally.
Description of Work: The kitchen cupboards were refaced completely. New cabinet doors and drawers were made to replace excisting ones. We had eight cabinet doors replaced with deep drawers in the cabinets which are absolutly fantastic. The face of the cuboards themselves were refaced to match the wood and color we chose. The kitchen island was also completly redone and looks great.

We got three bids, Scott's was the middle price. We just did not feel very comfortable with the company that had the low bid, he was very pushy and wanted us to sign on the spot. The other bid was a lot higher. Scott was very upfront with the costs showing us line by line each item, he gave us time to talk about all the options before we made our choice, no pressure. Scott made a custom color for us on the door sample that we liked and brought to our home so we could see it, he left the sample with us so we could take it to pick out our granite. The contract had great detail and was easy to understand. Scott called us on every Friday afternoon and gave us an update on the progress and ask if we had any questions. Scott showed up on the date that we agreed upon to start the installation and was on site every day. Scott & Steve were very clean during the project and respected our home. The whole project from start to finish only took the 3 1/2 days to complete. When they were done they cleaned the kitchen and waxed the cabinets. Our kids came by after and could not believe that they were the same cabinets.
Description of Work: We had our kitchen cabinets refaced, from white to red oak with chestnut finish. Replace all drawers with new ones and added two cookie sheet pullouts, trash pull out and two tray pull outs. We also added two large drawers to replace two doors. We also had a utensil holder installed, very cool. We also had an exotic granite installed in place of our blue formica counter top. New granite sink and faucet. We had our flooring and back splash replace last year. refacing allowed use to update the kitchen and not lose the improvements we did the year before. The change is unbelievable.

What a WONDERFUL experience with Scott. He is very professional in both his presentation and execution. His bid is detailed and broken down, so you can add or delete to fit your needs. He does exactly what he says he is going to do. After the contract was signed he called me every Friday and gave me an update on the progress of the construction of my kitchen, even sent me pictures of the kitchen being built!, which was awesome being kept up to date while he was building my kitchen. Scott was on site during the entire installation. His work is of the highest quality and his pricing was amazling good, we had two other bids. His attention to detail is beyond what a home owner would expect. For example, when he built our drawers, he ensured that the grain of the wood "flowed" from one drawer to the next! Who thinks of that! He is what every contractor should aspire to be. We definitely recommend Scott and his company.
Description of Work: We did the entire kitchen make over. We refaced the existing cabinets and added some new ones, from ash to Tiger Maple. You can't tell the difference between the refaced cabinets and the new ones! We also replace our old drawers with new solid maple drawers and drawer guides. We replaced the Formica counter top with granite and an under mount granite sink with new faucet. Replace the tile back splash with a tumbled marble back splash. Added new updated hardware. Installed under cabinet lighting and a couple of interior cabinet lights. Scott & his crew were amazing, from the sales call to the clean up at the end. What a change!
