Love Your Lawn

We have used Love Your Lawn several times for yard maintenance, pruning, planting and removing dead foliage. In the past they have been prompt and performed the work at a fair price. Our last experience with them, however, was very different. It took weeks to get the promised work done. After several phone calls, a crew finally came out on the wrong day and didn't perform all the work included in the estimate. It seems that they have gotten too busy and spread themselves to thin to complete their current commitments.

Shelly (the estimator) and Monty Allen, the owner, visited the property and completed an estimate. Subsequently, Love Your Lawn sent out a 3-man crew to complete the work. They were punctual and courteous. The work was properly done. Mr Allen advised that I should periodically treat for weeds and said he would be happy to recommend a product. I also inquired about lawn service, which he said he could provide for $35 per mowing. I chose not to take the lawn service. (I generally enjoy doing it myself.)

Shelly did an excellent job on the design and the crews were neat and cleaned up after the job well. All the issues we had with the installation were fixed. They replaced a couple of plant that did not survive the Jul heat.

We called for an estimate early in June 2011. Shelly came out on a Saturday and reviewed our lawn situation. We have one area which is very shady and had become bare over time as the St. Augustine grass did not endure after several attempts at resodding on our own. The rest of our yard, back and front, was St. Augustine and had several spotty areas. Shelly recommended installing Zoysia in the shady area due to its hardier characteristics. She suggested we apply a layer of peat moss wherever we have St. Augustine and resod the areas which were completely bare. We received a detailed professional estimate within a couple of days. We notified Shelly when we had completed the peat application, and the crew installed the sod. There was a moderate delay when more Zoysia had to be ordered. The part of the yard where Zoysia was installed looks great. It is worth the extra expense! The St. Augustine is a work in progress, which is what we expected. We are very happy with the outcome and the conduct of everyone we dealt with in this endeavor. We were always informed of any delays due to weather or other factors.

After finalizing the plan, Love Your Lawn showed up on the scheduled day and completed the initial work in 1 1/2 days. After reviewing the results, there were some areas where it didn't really turn out the way we anticipated. Shelly took it upon herself to add some more plants in those areas at no additional charge. The results was all we could have hoped for. Love Your Lawn, and especially Shelly, were great to work with and we would definitely recommend them to anyone.

They were great. Everything about the service was great. They were reasonably priced. They did a good job on the yard.

We had major issues with them. This was the second time we had used them and the second time we were dissatisfied with their service. We used them 3 years ago and again this year and after four or five weeks we got rid of them. They were not able to come out on a consistent basis. They missed one week and every week they would show up on a different day. We had a very hard time with them and when my wife called them they were unwilling to listen and just generally not helpful. At one point they were making fun at what she said. We are pretty dissatisfied with them. They do fine work, they mow the law fine but if you can live with them not showing up the same day each week. The actual work quality is fine it's just their punctuality or timeliness is just not good. I noticed that a lot of people on Angie's List seemed to have had a good experience but unfortunately mine was not too good.

They were great. They were very professional and did a good job. I wasn't actually here when they did the work, which was a good thing. They took instructions and did the work without any supervision or anybody. They were dependable and provide good quality.

The representative from Love Your Lawn was on time and seemed professional. We had used Love Your Lawn in the past and had planned to continue to use them. We were surprised that we never received a proposal. We would have been a very easy sale and had recommended them highly (A) in the past on Angie's List. Hoping for the company's sake that this was a fluke, but it's probably not a good sign that a repeat customer got no response to a simple request for services. Wasted our time - we will not use them again.

After a 2 week delay in getting my quote, things went fairly well. They originally delivered the wrong type of sod and fortunately, I caught this before it was installed. A quick discussion with the installation supervisor at my home and a quick call to the office got the problem rectified. Correct sod was delivered later that day and installation was completed in 2 days. The crew was extremely professional, made suggestions on improving my irrigation results and cleaned up the area completely after the installation. I would not hesitate to use this company again!

Love Your Lawn did a very good job. They showed up early in the morning with several people. They did a very good job and we were really pleased with them. I feel their price was right in line with the industry.

It's been two weeks since they walked my property to give an estimate. I realize this is a busy time so I waited one week to call and ask when I'd get the estimate. I left a voice mail and after another week, I have not heard anything from them.

For the most part they do a good job, but seem a bit unresponsive when it comes to customer service. I have asked a number of times for them to blow the leaves away from the front of my house, but it doesn't ever get done. Also, they toss my garden hose into my garden and break the plants off. I Also, they do not pick up trash or small branches that may be lying on the lawn when they mow. You would think that would be part of mowing a yard, but it doesn't seem to be. It's difficult to get them to listen to any suggestions.

He was very helpful in giving me an understanding of what I could do and gave me a lot of options.

Overall experience was great...including standing behind their warranty! On initial contact the designer really wanted to come meet us rather than just do a drive by estimate. He met us after work and brought books to get an idea of what we liked. His initial estimate was a little more than we wanted to spend so we made some adjustments to a final plan. He examined our existing sprinkler placement to ensure no additional work was required (none was). The initial planting was in mid-December. They offered a 90 day warranty on plants (not on annuals) and 1-year on trees. I withheld filing this report until I was confident that they would stand behind their warranty...and they did! I'm not a plant person so late February I started emailing the designer to ask him to come by and evaluate our plants since I thought some did not look like they were healthy. After several emails and no reply I call the company and learned the designer I dealt with was no longer with the company. They reassured me this wasn't a problem and sent another designer out within a week to determine which plants needed to be replaced. They then followed up and replaced the plants without any hassle. Overall experience was great and they had a no-hassle approach on the warranty replacement on the plants that died.

Everything went great. They arrived as scheduled, did good work, and followed up to make sure that I was happy.

Love Your Lawn had a wonderful service man who since the time he gave us the bid has left on his own to start his own company. We decided to use his new company instead of Love Your Lawn.

Our first attempt to receive an estimate from Love Your Lawn was a bust since we never heard back from the representative. Monty seemed eager that we give them another chance since this employee had apparently left the company right around the time we met with her. He sent out Shelly this second time, and I was mostly pleased with the experience. She seemed knowledgeable and enthusiastic, providing many suggestions and ideas. I received the estimate within the stated time frame and communication was fairly prompt. The cost was a little on the higher end though, so we ultimately decided to go with someone else.

They did a great job! The house looks great and we were very happy. The work was done the next day as we need it cleaned up for a party and they worked with me on getting it done quickly. Great job!

We have been using them for about 15 years. They have always been very good. We have never had any problems with them. We have never had to call them back because the quality of their work wasn't good. They used to mow for us every week and when we needed extra things done like trimming the trees, we would call them and they would contract that out on a separate basis.

Shortly after their arrival it began to rain, which hampered their work. I am surprised they just didn't quit and come back another day. Only half of the neighbor's yard was done and front areas of my yard were left untouched. What they charged was fair.

Love Your Lawn did a great job. I was pleased with them.
