Love Your Lawn

They did what they said they would do and were professional and responsive. I used them because they agreed to work me in the next day.

They were upfront on their pricing, but found them to be more expensive than other estimates for our small interior lot. Very professional and prompt in their estimate though.

I'd been living in my house for 3.5 years with no yard service other than biweekly mowing through the summers. As I hate yardwork, the only thing I did myself was cut back the tree branches and trim the shrubs once in the whole time I'd lived there. I never even raked the leaves from my 3 huge trees - what landed on the grass was mowed up, and what landed in the flower beds just collected there. You can imagine the hideous state of my yard! I decided to splurge on Love Your Lawn's weekly lawn and landscape service, where they not only mow your grass, they also take care of your bushes, flowerbeds, trees, etc. This is something I obviously need. However, before they start the weekly maintenance, they need to do a "spring cleanup" to get things up to their standards. I was quoted an hourly rate and told that it would take anywhere from 2-12 hours to complete, depending on the state of the yard. They arrived on a Friday at 6:00 pm and worked until sundown, then worked all day Saturday until a late-afternoon thunderstorm forced them to quit, and then finished on Monday. Despite the overgrown state of my yard, I was not prepared for them to spend that much time at an hourly rate, so the job vastly exceeded my budget. However, the work was spectacular! They were very meticulous and did things I wasn't expecting, like climb on my roof to trim tree branches, remove a dead crape myrtle, and (I'm embarrassed to say) rid my yard of a couple of snakes that had nested in the dead leaves. They also stacked the mind-boggling amount of debris neatly on the curb for the city's brush collection service, but as it comes on Monday morning, there was still more debris left over by the time they were done. They offered to cart it away for me (for an extra fee); this was a relief, as the city would have fined me for leaving brush on my curb for a whole week. To summarize, I only had two issues: (1) the price was much higher than I was expecting - they really should come out to do an estimate on a job as big as this, rather than saying "anywhere from 2-12 hours"; and (2) their timeliness. I called on a Thursday morning and was told they may come out that afternoon, but it not, first thing Friday. They did not actually arrive until 6:00 pm on Friday. Other than those points, I could not be more pleased with this service! They were very professional and hard-working: they even continued to work in the rain Saturday afternoon! They only gave up when it became a strong thunderstorm. The finished product was absolutely beautiful. It was way beyond my expectations. I guess this is a case of "you get what you pay for" - it was extremely expensive, but I am thrilled at the outcome. I'm about to sound like a cheesy TV commercial here, but I can now truly say that I "Love My Lawn." (Sorry - that hurt just to type it.)

They did not bring enough mulch on day 1 but returned early the next day and completed the job.

They took extra effort and time to get it right and satisfy me - I can be a tough customer since I would have normally done the work myself. Holly did the estimate and suggested great solutions. She is the best! She came and checked on the crew and made sure the work was progressing on track. She did the estimate on Wednesday and they were installing on Thursday of the next week. Very good response. My new sod looks wonderful but I think the three weeks of rain have helped that tremendously.

They were responsive, punctual, helpful, and I would highly recommend them to others.

The majority of the work was good but they left some things undone. There were a few projects that were not completed and they were not very punctual. However, they were professional and cleaned up well after themselves after the job.

I don't think they did a very good job. They said that they addressed the issues, but they never did improve their lawn mowing. I felt they mowed my lawn too fast. I didn't have any trouble getting a hold of the guy, and they came when they said they would. Sometimes they would come a day early to do the work if they were in town. When I called the owner of the company he didn't hide from me, if he needed to call me back then he would.

The first of the year required that first mow which is the toughest job because of the weeds. The results looked great and continue so each week. We signed up for the monthly payment schedule.

My yard looks fantastic. I have lived in the house for 2 years and had not met any neighbors. Now my neighbors are knocking on my door to find out who did my landscaping! The team was fast, nice, and did an overall wonderful job.

Very easy to set up service via web. Received a phone call to confirm and get details on work to be done within a couple of hours of submitting request online. Work looks great and they hauled off all trimmings, as well as a good sized dead juniper that they cut down.

I called prior to the 2008 holidays and it took a couple of weeks for someone to contact me. However, once the contact was made I received quick and professional attention. The estimator was on time and walked through my yard with me and discussed with me what I wanted and needed. She made great recommendations as well. A date for getting the work done was scheduled and was completed as contracted. They are higher in cost than other lawn/garden care providers I contacted and/or have used in the past. However, the work is significantly better. I will be using them for all of my lawn care needs in the future.

Very responsive. Quick written estimate by very competent and knowledgeable staff. Good work and service at a reasonable cost. Fixed monthly fee and extras by request at a fee. rates for extras are reasonable.

They are responsive and reliable. They did leave the debris behind.

Quality was subpar and not all work performed on initial visit. Required multiple visits / requests to have work completed satisfactorily.

It was good overall. They were very thorough in what they were doing. The work got done quickly and they cleaned up afterwards. I would definitely use them again.

Within 20 minutes of submitting my request for an estimate via their website, I received a telephone call to set up an appointment. They were extremely accommodating at finding a time within my busy schedule to have someone come and discuss my landscaping needs. Holly arrived exactly on time for the appointment and listened attentively to both what I saw as the things I knew I wanted, as well as my questions about things that I either didn't know or was open to. Consistently, Holly's suggestions stayed well within the minimum of what I said I wanted. For example, I did not initially mention that we wanted stone edging around our beds, even though the rusty metal edging that was in place was a definite eye-sore; Holly made her suggestions initially without even mentioning the edging. When I said that we wanted edging, she asked whether I wanted block edging or stone edging (that is, she didn't assume or even press me for the more expensive stone). When I said that we wanted stone edging, she began working with a single course, until I specifically told her we wanted two courses. Throughout, there was never ANY pressure to purchase anything. The estimate arrived by email attachment four days after the appointment. It was itemized so that I could easily "pick and choose" which items I might want or not. We decided to go with the estimate in full. Once we called to give our OK to the estimated work, the work began on the very next day! The landscapers (4 total) were careful and conscientious and extremely hardworking. The few times I came out to look at their progress, the foreman carefully answered any question that I might have had. In spite of the fact of a couple of complications with the removal of some of the stumps (which I was informed of and granted approval for extra work), the whole process went off without a hitch. I don't believe that I have ever had any contracted work done that was easier and smoother than this.

The gentleman who gave us the estimate left the company from when he gave us the estimate to when we got the work done. They did a very good job but it was a pain dealing with someone new. Because of the mix up they missed there first two appointments.

I submitted a report on their landscaping service and mentioned that I had a tree that needed to be trimmed and a couple of plants that needed to be replaced but I had not notified them. When I called and asked for this to be done on my next service day they said no problem. I was surprised to see their trucks in front of my house the next morning. They corrected all issues without even bothering me and had a supervisor there making sure they were done properly. I hired them to do my lawn care as well as bushes and bed care at a rate of $174 a month. They sent me an offer in the mail for a discount if I paid in full for a year of service. I was so happy with their service and customer service that I paid for the next year. Their crew is friendly and always wave and say hello if I come outside. If I ask them to fix something or do something another way they jump to it with out any questions.

My estimate was performed by the owner, Monty. I was happy with the estimate and his suggestions however I had a few questions. I emailed him for answers so I could give the go ahead on the project and there was some delay. I called and this was corrected right away. I also found this was due to an employee leaving and Monty having to pick up his slack. A new landscaper was sent out and she changed almost everything Monty had suggested. I liked her suggestion but assumed she was going to be working with the same budget Monty had and that was not the case. Her estimate came in much higher. After some work and scaling things back work began. I have to say that because of having to scale things back I felt that I was not getting the best landscaping for my lot but I am happy with the outcome. I have had two neighbors knock on my door asking who did my landscaping. I have a couple of very small issues which I have not yet had a chance to contact the company about. Two plants died right away and one bush is planted sideways so much so that it is laying down. I know that they will correct these issues as soon as I contact them so I am not worried about this at all.

Apparently their delay in following up related to the departure of an employee. Once Monty became aware of my issues, they were promptly and satisfactorily resolved and their responsiveness grade rose to an A. The butterfly garden and backyard look great. With the follow-up work now complete, I would give Love Your Lawn an overall grade of A.

They were somewhat slow to return the first call, but responsive after that. They came out to do the estimate with no problems. In retrospect, I am not sure if it was reasonable or not. I should have called other companies for estimates. The crew showed up exactly when they were supposed to. This was a "fixed fee" deal, so I did not have to pay by the hour. This is a good thing, because every time I checked on the crew, they were not working extremely hard. They took frequent breaks and small shovels of dirt. I called the company (who WAS paying by the hour) and explained what I had seen. They had expected the work to be complete in one day, so they were dismayed, but happy to get the feedback on the crew. The next day, they worked quickly and the work turned out as promised. I was happy with the result.
