 + -1 moreI chose King Moving company based on positive reviews on Angie's List and I was not disappointed! I made one call to make an appointment, received an email confirmation, and a call about 24 hours in advance to reconfirm. I was told the movers(three men) would arrive at my storage unit between 7:30 and 8 a.m. They arrived at 7:25. The job was to load furniture and boxes from storage unit, proceed to old home and off load some furniture and load more furniture and boxes. They were also to take all storage from my attic. This was a two story house. They then drove to new home and unloaded each piece into the correct rooms as directed including an attic with a winding staircase. Some furniture in the new home had to be moved to different rooms. They worked at a steady "jog" never stopping for a break even though I suggested they do so. They were courteous and very careful not to break or cause any damage to floors moving the furniture. I had expected to pay much more because of the time it would take them but I was pleasantly surprised.

 + -1 moreThe moving crew arrived timely...actually they were 10 minutes late, but they called to let me know. I am very pleased with their service...so much so I've now used them twice and plan to use them again...and recommend them without any reservation.
Description of Work: King Moving Company (Omar) quoted a reasonable hourly-rate price upfront. I described what I wanted moved (furniture and 65" TV) from DeSoto to Cedar Hill, TX. I was given an estimated time to complete. The work was diligently done by clean, courteous workmen in a timely manner. Care was taken to avoid breakage and nothing was broken...not even a scratch. A few days after the move the company representative (Omar) called to make sure I was happy with the move. I'm impressed. I didn't think quality service like this existed anymore.

 + -1 moreI set up our first appointment with Omar who was very helpful with getting us the day and time that we needed service. However, our closing date was postponed so Omar canceled the team on that day and penciled us in for the time we thought we would probably be able to close. Once we knew for sure that we were closing on that day, Omar was able to schedule a team to meet us at our apartment to load up everything there. They moved the things from the apartment and also unloaded a Pod that we had packed full of stuff from our previous home. The moving team was great. They worked quickly but carefully. They used all appropriate measures needed to protect our new house from scratches or scuffs. When they finished they totaled up what I owed. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost. i really expected to be a lot more. Overall I would gladly recommend this team to anyone needing movers. They really did a wonderful job. .
Description of Work: The team moved all items from our apartment to the house. Once at the house they also unloaded a Pod container that we had packed from our previous home.

 + 0 moreMy move was excellent, efficient and quick - amazed at how quickly the men worked. The men arrived ahead of time to move my two bedroom apartment and 10 x 10 storage unit to my new house. They were very efficient, quick, and even sent an extra truck with two more men to quickly remove the articles in the storage unit. They were very careful with my piano (baby grand) - my biggest concern. I had two friends helping pack last minute items that I had not gotten to, and they couldn't keep up with the movers. The men completed the work at the time promised and set up by beds, baby grand, etc. before leaving. I highly recommend this moving company. The only thing I would have liked to have seen was more shrink wrap on my furniture; however, they did have a lot of quilts, and protected everything well. They were out of shrink wrap as they had just completed a very large move before coming to me. Someone did bring shrink wrap for my piano, so all was well.

 + -1 moreThe foreman called me when they were 30 minutes away from the Dallas house. I met the 3-man crew and showed them which pieces to move. They loaded the truck quickly and carefully. No damage to my furniture. We took the furniture to Garland, off-loaded the couch and end table, and picked the other furniture. The crew also helped me retrieve many boxes from the attic. We returned to Dallas and off-loaded all of the furniture. There werre no scrapes on any of my furniture. The crew showed up on schedule and moving the furniture between our houses took a little over 3 hours. This was right on the estimate that I received before the job. Last month, we used King Moving to move furniture from my partner's house in Arlington to our house in Dallas. King provided experienced, professional, efficient crews for both moves. We will use King in the future when we sell our Garland and Arlington houses, and move more stuff to Dallas!
Description of Work: I contracted with King Moving to move my dryer, couch, loveseat, chair, office desk, extension, tool chest, and gas grill from Garland to Dallas. The foreman gave me an estimate of charges, and we agreed on a time for Thursday afternoon. I also wanted King to move an oversize couch and end table from the house in Dallas to the house in Garland.

 + -1 moreThis was a small move of household goods from a storage facility to a one-bedroom condo. The move was extremely efficient, accomplished by two men who never stopped moving. Though the cost was by the hour, you would have thought that is was by the job because they moved quickly, got everything done, including bed set up and never stopped until they were done. We could not have been more pleased from the intial contact until completion of the job. I would recommend King's Moving without hesitation.
Description of Work: I live in Florida and hired King's moving in Plano, TX to pick up household goods from storage facilty in Bedford, TX to deliver to condo in Carrollton, Tx (approx 20 miles). My search of moving services on Angie's List revealed A ratings for this company and with a location in the area I needed the services in. I contacted initially by email and was immediately contacted by phone to get the particular information. Further the window of the move was extremely constrained by my work schedule. Omar worked to find a date and time outside the normal workday to accommodate the move. He explained carefully how the charges worked and follwed up with confirmation of move date, time and cost in an email. I also had several conversations wtih the company to get questions answered and confirmation calls from them. An hour or so before the move schedule, they called to confirm their travel schedule and when they expected to be at the storage unit.

 + -1 moreThey were very professional. I had one minor complaint. When I originally booked them, he said he would send 1 truck to each location of the storage units where my belongings were. It ended up being a different person in the office that day who only sent one truck. It took a little longer than I expected but I was happy with the work they did.
Description of Work: They moved my belongings from storage to my new home. $125/Hour, $55 trip charge for (4) movers.

The movers arrived on time, with a large enclosed trailer and 4 men to carry the items we had selected to be moved. They were very professional and disassembled the bed and carried out all the items to the truck. The move went smoothly and nothing was damaged. They arranged everything in the apartment as I had drawn out. The price was also reasonable. I would use them again for any move I need to make.

They really were nice & did a great job! The entire move was finished in just over 3 hours and with my discount from Angie's List, it was very affordable! I would recommend this company to anyone and if I should ever need to move again in the future I will certainly use King's again! (but I vow (for about the 3rd or 4th time) to NEVER MOVE AGAIN!)  + -1 moreThe movers arrived with one trailer. I had rented a second truck, as agreed upon earlier with Omar, to reduce my cost. The 26' truck I rented was parked outside my home ready for the movers to load. Omar told me it would take 3 to 5 hours to load both trucks with a 4 man crew. It took over 6 hours with a hard working 4 man crew. Both trucks were stuffed with my household with overflow going into my wife small SUV and my sister-in-laws car. Omar's estimations were way off as noted by the overflow. Once in San Antonio, the movers unloaded and many of the items were scratched or dented because of the over packing performed by an under estimated household . Mr King called later and apologized many times for the problems with the move. He reduced my price to compensate but the fact remains that the company: 1. Under-estimated the size of my household 2. Never offered to bring in another truck to accommodate to over flow 3. Under-estimated to load time 4. Damaged my items

They moved me from downtown Dallas to North Plano in 2 hours. As long as I live in the DFW area, I will use and refer King Moving Co. to everyone I know!

 + -1 moreI found King Moving on Angie's List and I'm so glad that I did. They were simply fantastic! I was a bit worried since I was paying them by the hour and only had a verbal and email estimate based on a discussion I had on the phone. However, this company was honest and did a wonderful job. Despite the fact that I was paying hourly, the men moved very quickly. This was a hard move because they had to move the goods from my apartment, through the parking garage and then onto the truck parked four floors down. The crew literally ran my boxes through the garage and were speedy (while still being careful!). They were friendly and, when I unpacked all of my boxes, I found that not one single item had been damaged. This was a first for me - and I've done many, many moves. Not only that, but Greg King called himself after the move to see how everything went. I recently moved long-distance out of Texas and I was disappointed that I couldn't use King Moving again. I would recommend them to anyone!

 + -1 moreThree guys showed up after calling to ask if they could come early. It went ok besides taking a little over three hours and scratching my dresser up. In addition to scraping the paint off the wall of new apartment. I called the manager and they immediately took responsibility for the damages. They set a date to pick my dresser up. They did exactly as they said they would and was on time. Returned my dresser after approx. one week with the repairs. The repair was acceptable. The management called to followup and is in the process for paying for the damage to the wall. It was more that what I would ever pay again to move a one bedroom apartment and the inconvenience of having to unpack and redo my clothes in my dresser again after moving was not a good feeling . But the fact that they took responsibility for the damages made me feel a lot better.
Description of Work: Moved furniture and boxes, plus washer and dryer of a one-bedroom apartment (approx 750 sq. Ft) to another one bedroom apartment.

The owner of the company even followed up with me via phone call about 2 weeks after the move. I would recommend these guys to anyone. They are very fair priced as well. Kudos to Omar and his team!

 + 0 moreFABULOUS! It seems moving companies are a dime a dozen. Everywhere you look you'll find movers. We found King on Angie's List and called. The price was reasonable, and they seemed to have the experience we needed. The truck and crew of four arrived promptly at 7:30 AM. We took a quick tour of our house to describe what was going, what was staying, what was fragile and what needed to be dismantled. The crew went to work, and it was one of the smoothest moves we ever had. The four guys were professional, careful, and very helpful overall. It took two trips from old house to new house, and as far as we can tell, not one glass was broken. I would definitely recommend King moving again, and I would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: Carried all our furniture from the house to the van, carried boxes, packed up piano and hauled to van. Unloaded everything at new house, put furniture in new locations, setup furniture, setup and placed piano.

I was advised of the cost ($55 trip charge plus $105 an hour in 15 minute increments after the first hour). I said I was going to purchase a coupon ("Big Deal"), but was advised they would give me 10% off the total bill. I agree and company arrived timely, performed the work in a careful, professional and expeditious manner. In short I was impressed and will use this company again.

 + 0 moreOMG!!!!! Why don't they have an "A+" rating??? I found a dining room set (table, 8 chairs, and a china hutch) on Craigslist that I wanted to go look at. I was pretty sure I was going to purchase this set. I called King Moving Company at 8:00 this morning. I went to see the set at 1:00. King delivered it at 5:00. Now that's what I call SERVICE!!!!! I had a two man crew and they had on company shirts, offered me the 10% Angie's List discount (without my asking), gave me two business cards and told me to expect a call from the owner to see how the service was. I was going to wait for the call from him before writing my review, but then I decided I would rather be able to tell him I already had. Boy is my husband going to be surprised (in a good way...really...I hope!) when he gets home from work and our dining room isn't empty any more and he didn't have to do a thing!!! Thanks King Movers....you rock!!!!!
