Only hitch was 4 day delay mid project due to contractor illness. Otherwise problem free. Mr. Barber did an especially good job of clean-up when he was done.

We had an excellent experience with Mr. Barber. Both rooms look great. He is a very experienced painter and very easy to deal with.

Our house is 15 years old. The exterior had not been painted since we moved in. The front doors and some of the trim had begun to rot. Walter caulked extensively and salvaged the front doors by repairing the rotted area. Our kitchen cabinets needed painting badly, the paint had been peeling for some time and two cabinet doors were coming apart where water had dripped on them. Walter repaired the doors, primed the cabinets and hand painted them with high quality paint. He also painted the baseboards and doors to the outside.

He was on time and he did the job well. His pricing was very competitive. He was very respectful about being around my home however, he did not clean up well after he was done.

Overall, work was good. He did not keep his job site clean. He left cigarette butts scattered around. We had to request cleanup. He also did not put everything back; had to go back after him on a couple of things. He also dumped paint on the neighbors lawn; created a problem.

Excellent work. Proper preparation included caulking, sanding, power washing etc. Careful around shrubs, patio furniture etc. Cleaned up well when job complete. Very hard working. Completed job within 2 week agreed upon time frame. Had ideas about trim colors. Would highly recommend to any one.

We had a laundry list of items we wanted done prior to putting our house on the market for sale, and of the recommended Angie's List companies we obtained bids from, Walter promised to do the job the quickest. We ended up disappointed because Walter promised more than he delivered. He did a fine job with each of the items on our list, but he kept promising that each task would be completed sooner than he could actually complete the job. This meant that we had house cleaners, stager, realtor and Walter's crew tripping over each other the two days before our open house. Also, we discovered during the first rain storm after the gutter repair that a corner still leaked. Overall, I would say Walter's a fine painter/handyman, but he disappoints by overpromising. You have to really push him to get things done on time.

Walter was very responsive. He called me back immediately and scheduled the job very quickly. I definitely will use him again. In fact, I've asked him to give me an estimate on another project that I have, so I definitely recommend Walter for any of the work that you need him for.

Walter and his helper (an older gentlemen) painted all new doors and new trim in our 2000 sq. foot house. He showed up on time and worked very late-sometimes was here until 11 pm at night. It took him several days more than he had planned. He also was very sloppy. MANY of our personal possessions had overspray from the paint on them, including furniture. This was very upsetting. He also painted onto the wall along side the trim and we had to ask him to touch it up. I don't believe that he planned to do this himself. There was also many spots on the hardwood floors that had paint left from him. He also drank and smoked in our house while he was working. We found many empty beer cans and our bathroom smelled like smoke and he had put out a cigarette on our new shower floor, leaving an ash mark on brand new tile. He also dumped paint thinner on our front lawn, leaving a dead lawn spot months later. Overall he had a reasonable price and that is why we went with him. He took a long time, longer than quoted, and was very sloppy and disrespectful of our personal belongings and our house. I would not recommend him unless you have lots of time to spare, are on a tight budget and are willing to watch over him closely.

I could not be happier not only with Walter's professionalism but the job he did on both the fence and deck.

The overall experience went very well! Once he arrived he immediately looked over the work, which needed to be done and got to work on it, even staying late. (I have no pricing information at the moment).

Walter was an excellent choice. He's prompt, professional and pleasant to work with. Overall, I felt that he had my best interest as his primary motivator - not my checking account. He was quick and exact on his estimate, included superior quality materials in the quote and delivered only top of the line materials to the job site. His sub-contractors were well-chosen and were of like professional demeanor and performance. The final job was delivered on schedule and with a high quality. It is difficult to say whether Walter chose painting or painting chose Walter - either way, it is an excellent fit. I recommend him highly.

Great Job!! Walter and his partner Eddie came out to replace the drywall in our closet ceiling (about 2 ft by 1 ft). They re-textured and repainted the area using the original paint (that came with the house 15 years old). Unfortunately the original paint no longer matched. (This was not Walter's fault nor was it his problem. In fact many companies would have left me high and dry with a miss-matched ceiling). However, when he saw how disappointed we were in the paint not matching, Walter offered to come out another day and repainted the entire ceiling (about 16'x16') at little additional charge to us. He did a fantastic job!! You would never be able to tell there was a problem with the ceiling to begin with. This is our second time using Walter, he is fair and reasonably priced and does a fantastic job. Always does what is right by the customer. We will definitely use him again. If I could give him an A+ I would (but that isn't available on Angie's List).

Mr. Barber returned my call and came by for an estimate of job ASAP (same day I called). He matched existing paint perfectly and started on time. As mentioned earlier, job ran later than planned on last day and attention to details and clean up suffered some at the end.

The job took longer than expected, damage was more than extensive than we thought. And we gave the crew the wrong wall paint, and one of the painters was colorblind (no kidding!) But we all kept our sense of humor and had a good laugh or two. Walter kept his word to 'get it right" and everything turned out just fine.

Did not show up. He never even called. I called him this morning and he let me know he couldn't do the job. They were to come do a estimate. They never showed up or called back. I then called them this morning and they informed me that they could not do the job. Should have either called back to let me know that before hand or when I initially called.

It was even more work than I had imagined. alter was sick the first two days but I was pleased with his assistants, Eddie did an excellent job repairing the cracked walls. Walter returned and the work was completed after three long days. I was very pleased, it looked better than I thought possible.

Initially we weren't 100% happy with the results. There was a bubble in the ceiling where the dry wall was replaced and the paint job was uneven in areas. I mentioned those problems to him and he came back to fix the problem a couple days later. Everything looks great now. You might not be even able to guess we had a leak to begin with.

I was pleased with the experience. Walter and his two assistants were pleasant and very easy to work with. I could have gotten it done a little cheaper but I think I made the right decision.

Walter came out the day we called to give us an estimate. I could tell that he really knew what he was talking about and that we had a shared vision of the door restoration. He showed up as promised for the next several days to do the door restoration and painting. Walter is a guy who takes pride in his work. He did more to the door than we expected, because he really wanted it to look good. He did not take any short cuts or just speed through it. He took his time and did a great job. While he was in our home, we got two new chandeliers and asked him if he would hang them for us. He did it for us and then asked us to just pay him what we thought was fair. We made the mistake of paying him in advance for painting the kitchen ceiling, because we became less of a priority and 2-3 weeks passed before he finished the job...although I think this is pretty common given that these guys always have multiple jobs going on concurrently. Overall it was very positive and would hire again.

Walter was very responsive and fit into my schedule so I could be at the house when he was there. The texturing was done with a spray gun and is not identical but very close to that on the wall already. You can see a bit of unevenness if you look closely but stand back 4 ft and you would not know the wall was repaired. Walter clearly has a lot of experience and paints very carefully. He is conscientious and I was pleased with the job -- I would call him back again.

Walter is a very skilled painter who takes pride in his work. His patience and attention to detail show in the excellent job he did on my house. After he finished, he thoroughly cleaned up, including washing my front porch and sweeping my back patio. Walter answered my call immediately and came to my house as promised to give me an estimate. He provided both a preliminary verbal estimate and a final written estimate that included a clear statement of work and the terms of our agreement. He worked regularly, including on Saturdays and Sundays, and performed most of the work himself. He only brought along an assistant toward the end of the job when he needed help with work like removing the storm windows. He also gave me suggestions about trimming the house that improved its ultimate appearance. Walter was easy to work with and responded to any questions or concerns I had about the job.

We have two rooms were the ceilings need to be fixed. I just need the areas done were there is damage and he continues to want to do the whole ceiling. He has come and gone 3 times now and still no work has been done. The whole experience has been frustrating with all the talking so I'm getting someone else to come and do the work.

He's very good and I was very happy with work.
