Fast Trac Locksmith

Bad experience. Was in a tough spot and know i was taken advantaged of. Will not use them in the future and don't recommend them to anyone.

On the afternoon of Wed. 8/28/2013, I went into my garage and shut the door behind me then realized that I didn't have my keys. My husband went next door to borrow our neighbors phone but we weren't sure who to call. Our neighbor found the number for a local locksmith and called them. They told her it would be $19.95 service fee then a charge for the door depending on the lock and time it takes so we agreed. My neighbor left to go to the store and we waited for the locksmith. While she was gone they called her 3 times asking for directions. It took over an hour for someone to come and when he arrived he was in an unmarked car. He opened our interior garage door which has a handle lock in less than 5 minutes. He told us the number we called dispatches to contracted companies and his company is one of them that does the work. He then proceeded to charge us a $15 service fee and $125 plus 11% tax. Later in the day my husband who works in security was talking with a coworker who used to be a locksmith and said we were overcharged. He said we were charged a weekend or after hours price. I decided to call the company and ask what a standard price for a house lock would be and the manager told me it depends on the lock. I explained to him that the locksmith took less than 5 minutes to open my door and I feel $155 is high. He then said if they don't charge that much they won't make a profit. He didn't seem to care that I was upset so needless to say I will never use them again and I will be submitting a complaint to the BBB.
