The owner, Patrick, came out for an estimate and he was very helpful and thorough. He worked with my homeowner's association for their approval and even used landscape design software to show the association what the yard would look like after the work was completed which was very helpful. I am very happy with the work that was done and I would use the company again in the future.

Quote provided. Price was within reason compared to three other quotes. Price was still a bit high for my liking, but Patrick worked with me to get it down to something we were both comfortable with. Job was slightly delayed (by a day) due to complications at the job before mine. I didn't see Patrick on the day of the job or any day throughout the job, but he had three workers there the entire time. They were very friendly and kept me updated on the progress. I spoke daily to the workers and by phone to Patrick on several occasions. All of them were always very helpful and informative. The job ended up taking about a week due to reusing and cleaning the existing stone. We are extremely pleased with the wall. It looks better than the day we moved into the house. The footing they put in should keep this wall upright for some time to come as it was very well done. At the end, Patrick called to check on my satisfaction with the job. He did have his team come back to clean up some of the larger rocks that were left over in the soil they used to backfill along the wall (they reused the soil that they took out from behind the wall). At the same time, he agreed to have them come add in a bit more sod for us in a couple of spots where I was not happy with the coverage originally. For the price, we didn't get enough sod to cover the entire area; but Patrick looked and let me know we could cover the whole area for an additional $300.00. I haven't elected to do so now due to funding, but the sod that is installed looks pretty good. I'm just trying to get it to take root before we get too far into fall. Overall, great job and we will definitely use Empire again.

I called the owner, Patrick Wilson, on Friday and he came out on a Sunday morning to go over the proposed job which included removing the old Bermuda grass (which most in terrible shape and full of weeds), lay down top soil, and install new Bermuda Hybrid tiff grass on a large backyard and side yard. I had just completed a big outdoor kitchen and patio project by another contractor that had torn up my side yard and left the backyard in terrible shape. My patio contractor had his "landscaper sub" give me a bid which was slightly less than Empire Landscaping. Frankly, I had so many problems with the patio contractor and his subs, I wanted nothing further to do with either him or his subs at that point so I went with Empire Landscaping. Empire Landscaping came out two weeks later on Monday morning (exactly when they said they would) and had a crew work all day removing the old Bermuda grass, weeds, and rocks, pieces of concrete and other debris left over by the patio contractor. The next day the Empire crew spent the day spreading top soil and leveling everything out. Even though Patrick had estimated 8 cubic yards of top soil in his bid, he ended up bringing in another load of top soil and did not charge me for that. On the third day, his men worked until 9:00 pm to spread the extra top soil, the Bermuda grass laid down and watered, and everything cleaned up. The men even laid grass in an area where a gas line had been installed to my outdoor kitchen on the other side of the house which was not in the original contract. Again, Empire Landscaping did not charge me for this extra work. Patrick Wilson came out Thursday evening and inspected everything with me to make sure I was satisfied and went over watering, mowing and fertilizer instructions. I would definitely use Patrick Wilson and Empire Landscaping again and would highly recommend Empire Landscaping.

Patrick with Empire gave me the best quote of three companies I asked, not just less expensive, but a better design and approach than the others (one company quoted me over $6,000 for a design to replace my front yard grass with stonework and a small waterfall...way overkill). His team did a great job, including re-setting several older flagstones from a previous project, using “decomposed granite” as a filler around the stone, which stopped the erosion. I have been living here for 14 years, and for the first time, I have a nice bed of grass in the front where his team worked, the erosion in the back has stopped and the grass there is also nice and thick. Patrick and his team at Empire also has serviced my lawn weekly for about 2 years now, both with grass cutting and fertilization, and my lawn looks better than it ever has, even in the problem areas under the oak tree.
