The study was informative, and David did a decent job of explaining things, but all in the same breath it also felt like some of the information I received was easily obtainable online - through any number of Energy Efficiency related sites.

I purchased $49 (for a 20-Point Air-Conditioning Tune-Up and 1 lb coolant) Big Deal package from Angie's List for one AC unit. My AC was running just fine but I wanted to get it checked out for any issues before start of summer. I had two problems with my service: 1) My original schedule was for a 8AM-10AM slot on Thursday. I took time off from work and waited for the service to be performed on Thursday. At around 9:30AM I called Efficient Home Solutions to find out when the service technician was going to arrive, I was told that my slot was not 8AM-10AM rather Noon -2PM. I know my slot was originally set for 8-10AM as I had set it up on my calendar soon after confirming the service appointment. My half day time-off from work was a waste! 2) I did get an appointment for same week SAT AM slot. The service technician from Efficient Home Solutions arrived within my appointment slot. He was courteous and started inspecting my AC unit. Things went well initially, he even took out the AC Start-Up capacitor and showed me the reading, noting that capacitor was slightly below its rated value. All this was fine although odd that he would get me out of my house to show me the capacitor reading. Anyway I appreciated the information and told him I am fine with it. Next he tested for coolant pressure and told me it was a bit low, he did not know how low, but he felt for the size of my AC it is probably 2 lb to worst case 4.5 lb below the required amount. I was expecting him to tell me approximately how much it would cost me or at least tell me the price of R22/ lb before starting to fill up my AC with the coolant. About 15 minutes later the technician came and told me that he had to fill-up 6lb of coolant and since 1lb was included in the big deal I had to pay for 5 lb and that it was $75/lb or $375 for the 5lb of coolant. !! This came as a bit of shock to me, I was not expecting to pay more than $400 ($375+$49 for big deal) for a AC unit checkup when previously I did not have any problems. Maybe the coolant was low but it is totally unacceptable to not be told of the approximate cost or at least the cost on a /lb basis so I could have made a mental estimate and then given my final decision on if I wanted to proceed with the service. I let myself very clear to the technician and told him that I consider this totally unprofessional, after all if he were to take his truck for repair would he not ask for an estimate before authorizing any repair? The technician agreed and apologized and even said that he could take back the coolant from my AC and that way I would not have to pay for it. I told him he was missing my point. Anyway I paid him $375 but I will stay away from Efficient Home Solutions in the future.

Everything went smoothly. David made himself available when we needed him, gave us his mobile phone, made on site visit when work was being done and followed up once his crew had completed the work. He was on time, on budget and once his crew left we never knew they were here. His crew was polite and courteous.

The heat worked perfectly this winter. They gave me a nice folder to put all my documentation in. They also replaced my filter as well.

They looked at the whole house and windows. Made recommendations on what need to be done. Suggestions for the attic entry, windows etc.

David was gracious enough to reschedule our appt. due to a family emergency. We walked thru the house as he explained to me what was normal and what needed improvement. He used his thermal scanner to identify areas that could be fixed. Efficient and no hard same.

There's not a lot to say. It went well. Dennis came out promptly and checked out the system and changed the filter. It's a new system, so I didn't expect any problems anyway. But, I like to get the twice-per-year routine maintenance checks done to avoid small problems getting bigger. Dennis was professional, courteous, and prompt.

auditor was very knowledgeable and went through the home checking for any potential issues. He also suggested things to make home more energy efficient.

Just fine. I am new to my house and he showed and told me some things I should know about. He changed the filter for me. He offered a yearly maintenance agreement with his company. No pressure about it. I didn't sign up right then, but did call later and set it up.

I purchased the home energy audit for $59. Money well spent! David and Clayton showed up on time and were very thorough, asking if I had any particular areas of concern and then explaining how the audit would go. As they checked each area of the house, they offered solutions to things I could fix myself and suggestions for a few future improvements that I may need help with. I was secretly dreading the audit results and expecting thousands in "recommended" repairs... Not the case at all. No product pushing, no up sell. David and Clayton were very friendly and professional. They documented their findings in order of importance/value and only offered to quote adding some additional insulation to the attic space at my request. I was very impressed with the whole service and the efficiency education they provided. When I'm ready to update the insulation I will definitely use Efficient Home Solutions for the work. Great job. Micah came out in a timely manner and was very courteous. He was very knowledgeable and suggested a couple of items that would help with efficiency.

Work went very smoothly and professionally. The new system was explained clearly and all details were taken care of efficiently. We plan to use them again to replace the downstairs AC system next year.

David Rivera came to the home and provided professional and courteous advice. The job was well done. No negatives.

We returned from a weekend trip on Sunday to a broken air conditioner. I phoned Efficient and Rocky came out within the hour -- remember this is Sunday late afternoon. The compressor was shot. Rocky reviewed our options; the costs and benefits of different models. He located a condenser and returned with a co-worker to install it. It was now dark and soon thunderstorms rolled in. I went out to check on them on they were working away, sheltered by the cardboard that the compressor had come in.Rocky and Victor worked through the rain and our a/c was functioning again by midnight. They returned a week later to check the refrigerant levels (which needed to be topped off) and measure the air temperature at every duct.

EHS showed up on time. The work was done with absolute professionalism and no mess. In fact, we got to take part in a promotion by TRANE. We had originally ordered a 16 PSI, but TRANE had a special and we actually received an 18 PSI for the same price! We have had 6 months worth of electricity bills since installation and our bills are running 60-75% less than they were last year for the same period of time, just as David told us they would. Our master bedroom that had always been hot and uncomfortable since we purchased our home new in 2001 is now temperature perfect and we are getting the best nights sleep ever! We were prepared to do radiant barriers, and spend alot of money to try to get our bedroom cool and our house more comfortable. David showed us how 22" of insulation, roof spinners and an extra return air vent would accomplish what we wanted for alot less money and he was so right! It was so amazing the amount of honesty and the knowledge of product that all of David and his team have. We got to meet a number of his staff throughout the process. We are telling all of our friends in our neighborhood...our houses are all around the same age about EHS. We can't say enough good things!

The venting of the bathroom fans and dryer vent were not the quality that we expected based on the price The dryer vent was replaced twice do to inappropriate material. Mr. Rivera explained that running dryer vents and bathroom vents were quoted as a curtesy opposed to the line of business his company is in. I wish that would have been told to us upfront and prevented hard feelings and costly mistakes on both sides. I recommend to have all work spelled out based on materials, design, cost and time required to complete the job.

The service tech was punctual and called prior to coming. He was professional and clearly knowledgeable. He diagnosed the problem and provided a estimate quickly for the repair. I chose to get a competitive estimate from another company which was approx 25-30% less.

They gave a quote and explained what needed to be done and why. When they came out and did the work they did it in a day. They were very efficient and clean.

Our upstairs air conditions stopped working Friday night. We called Saturday morning to set an appointment. They were able to have a salesman here by 11am the same day. He did his inspection and informed us what was wrong and the options we had. He was very thorough and explained in detail each option. We chose to replace the system due to age and wear and tear. They had a crew to the house with in 2 hours and had the system replaced shortly after. It was a very smooth process. I would not / will not hesitate to call only this company in the future. I highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you

Very professional consultation and estimate thorough, inspection of attic, very timely and efficient did all work as promised and cleaned up after themselves well.

The technician was knowledgeable and applied a fix. Unfortunately the fix did not last, and we had to contact the company later that day. Another technician came out quickly and fixed the problem. A week later we had an unrelated ac problem where it was not cooling. The technician explained work and allowed us to make cost decisions throughout the process. He was very helpful and lot us cool again!
