This was the first time that I contracted with DFW Improved. I was new to this area and did not know anyone to ask for referrals. Probably the best outcome for me. I went on line and did some research and found that they had excellent customer satisfaction. They are the best provider I have ever worked with. The listen to my needs and desires and provided assistance in obtaining the appliances and materials I wanted at their wholesale costs. The quality of their work was exemplary, their prices were more than fair. The project manager was on site every day that work was going on to insure their quality standards were on target. They were responsive to any of my concerns and resolved them immediately. They arrived at the time they told me they would and finished the task that was set for that day. They were friendly but remained professional at all times. They were a pleasure to work with. I dreaded when the job was over because hey were such a positive experience. I have already contacted for another job. I will highly recommend them if you are looking for a quality, professional job. Very satisfied with their work.

Showed up and gave a ridiculous minimum price of 1250.00 to do 3 simple tasks.. Was never told in advance there was a minimum charge. Total waste of time and it took over a week for them to come out and provide a bid

This is my second time to use DFW Improved, and I'm extremely pleased with the work they do. Day one the electrician replaced the light fixtures. When he left, the lights were in, the kitchen furniture was back in its original places, and there was not a spec of dust or sheet rock debris anywhere to be seen. Day two the sheet rock was done. The skylight boxes were framed and sheet rocked and ceiling texture applied. The tented the entire area with plastic, and as with day one, when they left, you would never have known there were there. Day three was painting. The kitchen and living room ceilings were painted (continuous surface). The painter covered every single bit of floors, walls, furniture with plastic, and applied two coats of paint. Again, when he left, he cleaned up thoroughly, and the ceiling was perfect. Miguel, the project manager (ask for him - he is great!), came to close out the project, he inspected the entire ceiling with a flashlight. I'm so pleased with the work DFW Improved does. I can't wait to remodel my bathroom, and I'll use them again for that - and request Miguel as the project manager.
Description of Work: Closed up holes from skylights that I had removed, and replaced kitchen light fixtures.

Went through the entire process of estimates, engineers, designers... Once we questioned their numbers they became absent. Said they were going to get back to us with some new numbers and other cost cutting options. NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN. Was looking forward to working with them but now we see their true colors. Not even if they begged. Be very wary. Proceed with caution.

DFW improved was recommended by someone in our neighborhood as having done a bath remodel for them. Quote: We had them come to discuss our master bathroom plans and provide a quote. Gary Horton (sales rep) provided us with a detailed quote. As well as discussing some options. The quote itemized and detailed the work to be done the main categories included: - Demolition - plumbing - framing - Drywall and paint - Moldings and mill-work - counter-tops - shower tile - floor tile - shower glass - hardware We had already determined that we would use a separate cabinet maker that we had worked with previously so cabinet work was not included. The contract itemized several items that were to be supplied by us. Gary took plenty of time and answered all our questions regarding how DFW improved did various parts of the project, as well as the parameters we should look at for the items supplied by us. Contract / selections / planning Signed the contract After detailed checking of reviews, and other information on our top choices we selected DFW Improved and signed the contract on May 2nd. We met with the design consultant at DFW Improved's office in Frisco on May 4th. At that meeting we made all of our selections for tile, granite, paint, and plumbing fixtures. The addendum to the contract with these specifics was completed and approved by May 11th. On May 17th Gary Horton introduced us to or project manager Tony Fuller. At that time Gary walked everyone thru the agreement and plans so that we could discuss the project and flow with Tony. Tony indicated that he would be providing us with a detailed schedule (each day's planned activities) before the start of the project. The schedule was provided and updated as needed during the project. Demolition and construction Tony provided the detailed schedule on May24th with demolition to start the next day. The schedule was detailed and had activities every working day thru completion, targeted for June 17th. The schedule was mostly accurate to how the project worked. However, Tony did rearrange the order of a few of the tasks later in the project. However, the project was 99% complete on the targeted day, with final clean up done. Remaining tasks were limited paint touch up, and a few adjustments that occurred on the next working day. Trash / cleaning For demolition, DFW Improved placed a "bagster" bag dumpster on the driveway. After demolition was complete trash was collected. Additional trash was bagged daily and placed on the driveway and collected near the end of the project. The crews put down heavy paper in the halls of the house to the master bathroom, and hung plastic sheeting for the dusty tasks. At the end of each day the crews cleaned up. Also, for the dusty tasks (demo etc) and the custom fiberglass liner for the shower DFW improved brought an air filter to run to collect the dust and odors (mostly successful). On the scheduled finish date a cleaning crew came in and cleaned the bathroom, adjoining bedroom, and the halls to the front door. We were very impressed with how clean this left things. We had been anticipating spending most of the Saturday cleaning the house; however, that was not needed. Summary: Overall we are very pleased with DFW Improved. The quality of their work was excellent. We were kept up to date on progress and schedule on a daily basis. The project was finished on time and for the price agreed. We will use DFW Improved again when we have another project.

I never received an estimate. It's going on 4 weeks since I first met with Jason Storm to review the project. He sent a plumber out the following week, but that was it until I received an email asking me to spend $500 for plumbing inspection, before I even had a ballpark estimate from him. I replied to the email, informing Jason, that I wasn't going to spend $500 before I knew what the total cost, (even a ballpark), would be. I never heard from Jason again.

Very impressed with their professionalism. With any remodel, glitches or oversights will inevitably occur. How they are handled makes the difference for me. Robert our sales representative was very clear about what they would be doing, and he provided a competitive bid. DFW Improved was not the least expensive, but gave the best impression of professionalism, so I hired them. Project Managers, Chad and Brett, get major kudos for managing the project and rectifying any issues (few) very quickly. The carpentry team and painting team did a nice job. A few places were missed, and the PM was on top of it. The cleaning team ( Steve and Sondra) did a superb job as well. The admin team ( Kona, Teryn and Candice) did a fine job throughout the remodel handling communications regarding payments, etc.. We have completed remodeling jobs before with other vendors, and I have learned a good PM who pays attention and is communicative and efficient is worth his weight in gold. We had that with DFW Improved. Last year, another vendor completed the same task in two other rooms for us, and it was an unpleasant experience on many levels. Our experience with DFW Improved was all positive: a job well done and well managed, and I would highly recommend them. I will be calling them for future projects.
Description of Work: Three areas: Living Room, Dining Room and Atrium. DFW Improved floated a smooth-wall finish on walls of dining room, atrium and living room. Some repairs on walls were completed, too, then primed and painted. Removed popcorn ceiling in the dining room and atrium, floated a smooth finish and painted. Replaced door trim and foot molding, Painted all trim, doors, walls, ceilings, & display shelves (approx. 14).

Extremely disappointed with the laundry list of excuses and broken promises. It was to be an all-day process to retain our door properly. After clearing our entire Saturday, providing a 50% deposit of $325 and both my husband and I signing a contract, a worker came Saturday morning for one hour. The door remained in tact, and the worker simply used a bit of sand paper and a coat of stain and was on his way. There were drips down and the door and obvious the work likely will not hold up through the summer. When my husband contacted Robert, the excuses started. Everything from the worker was just phase 1, it was too humid to do the full process and he intended to come back on Sunday to finish. None of it was communicated to us previously, and we had not intended to spend yet another day of our weekend sitting around for our door to be stained. So we cleared our Sunday and waited for him to show at the time he said. And then he didn't show. When my husband contacted him, another excuse. He claims that wasn't the time he gave my husband. So we are spending another day waiting for Robert to deliver on what he promised. This unprofessionalism and string of excuses is completely unacceptable. I would not recommend anyone do business with this pathetic excuse of a company.
Description of Work: Robert Griffith stated that we would address our sun-bleached front door that needed restaining. He claimed he would remove the door and the hardware, thoroughly sand it, apply multiple coats of stain and finish with a marine grade sealant. This has not happened.

We had a few estimates for our kitchen cabinets to be repainted. We chose to hire DFW to do the job. We were told when we met with them on March 14th that they could schedule the work to be done within a couple of weeks (we needed to have the project completed within 6 weeks). A couple of days after the initial meeting we received a quote. I responded that it was a bit high and asked for a reconsideration. I did not hear from anyone for a couple of days, so I emailed a follow up on March 23. Donny responded that they were not able to adjust the price. On the 25th I called Donny to let him know we would hire DFW. The contract was sent to us on the 28th. We signed and sent it in on the 29th. I emailed Donny the afternoon of the 30th, as well as called into scheduling, about getting on their schedule. Not until April 1 at 10;30 pm did I get a response that the earliest they would schedule us is MAY 16! That is 2 months from our original inquiry, 6 weeks after our contract was signed, We made other attempts to call and schedule, but after a week of attempts, decided to go with another painting company. So here I am, three weeks before our deadline, having to start at square one looking for a painter. In the big picture, an inconvenience, but at the moment, a frustration.

Response from DFW Improved
We sent the client a proposal two days after our appointment on March 16th. The client & our staff went back & forth via email & voicemail discuss the project & price. On March 23 we sent an email giving the client our best price we would offer. We discussed at the in home appointment that we are 2 - 3 weeks out from a SIGNED CONTRACT to get the work schedule to be complete. We did not hear from the client regarding for a couple of days & on March 30th we finalized the contract and contacted the client to discuss scheduling. The client did not discuss with our sales staff her deadline she wanted the work to be completed and the DFW Improved staff told the client her project was scheduled for May 16th. We did discuss with the client that we would do what we could to get her completed sooner, however the calendar was very busy this time of year. The client responded by email Friday, April 2nd and said that was disappointed and then disclosed her needed completion date of April 27th. We did continue to discuss that our staff would try to move things around if possible to get close to her sought after completion date. We were able to move her start date up by 4 days to May 12th, but that was the best we could do. We followed up with a phone call as well, and the client let us know her disappointment. We did continue to inform the client that she as on our schedule, just not within her required dates. Unfortunately our hands are tied as this is our (& everyone else in the industries) busy time & all client projects are equally as important. We cannot bump someone else's project who was schedule prior. Our staff had several conversations regarding our schedule and how quickly weeks are filling up the more time that passes. We are as equally disappointed the client is frustrated seeing as we did communicated clearly with her regarding the schedule & was very transparent on the timeline.

They worked with us on the design. The implementation was a long process, but it was a big job. Gary St. John was willing to talk us through everything that was going on, and Dave Poeckes was extremely responsive to requests. We had a few problems with the contractor that worked directly with us, but he no longer works with DFW Improved. A few years after the renovation, there was a problem with what that contractor had done, and DFW Improved made sure the problem was fixed. These guys stand by their work! I would definitely use them again. They take pride in their work and make sure you are happy with the results.
Description of Work: Full kitchen and bath remodel. Took out a wall. Built an island. Built a vanity for the bathroom.
We had a water leak in our house, which destroyed our hardwood floors and caused other damage. We interviewed many contractors for the reconstruction work, and DFW was by far the most responsive, professional, and thorough. Others were trying to cut corners with insurance negotiations, just to win the bid, but DFW was the only company, which insisted that the job had to be done right, and they helped us deal with our insurance and negotiate for all the work required. They did an excellent job on the remodel, the support to get the bid approved, and the overall management of the whole experience. Juan and Jason were absolutely the best. Great to work with, professional, and highly competent. We had a minor complication with floors a few months later and they came back and fixed the issue with no questions asked. I highly recommend them, especially if you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of water or other damage in your home and need a trusted and competent advisor and negotiator.

The bad news is that I had to use DFW Improved twice within one year. I had two incidences of water damage within that time. The GOOD news is that I chose DFW Improved. They were both responsive and communicative. The project manager for each incidence kept me informed and made sure that quality work was done with attention to detail. All done for a fair price.

On 7/23/15, we requested an estimate for a master bathroom remodel via the company's website. On 7/25/15 after receiving no response, I called and made an appointment. Their representative made an appointment for William to come to our home on 8/6/15 at 11:00 a.m. A few days later, the same rep. called to make an appointment from the email inquiry that I originally sent. I told her we had already made an appointment by phone and she confirmed the date and time. William did not show for the appointment. Nor did we receive a call to reschedule and allow us to readjust our schedule. We were not really sure how this error occurred as the appointment day and time was confirmed. It is our thought that when we filled out the website contact sheet, it did ask our budget and comments about what we would like done. At that time our wish list probably was greater than our projected budget which we estimated would be 5,000-10,000. However, having never had the remodeling experience, we did not have any idea of the cost involved for what we wanted to have done. As of today, we have had two other companies give us estimates and now realize that our budget will be more in the 20,000 to 25,000 range. We must assume that DFW Improved didn't want to work with our original budget estimate. I'm sure one of the other companies we interview will be able to give us the master bath of our dreams. And yes...we can afford it.

Response from DFW Improved
We responded within reasonable time frame. The client contacted us the 7/31/15 - Friday after business hours. He didn't not leave a phone number or email for us to contact him directly. We were forced to use the Angie's List message center to respond. We are closed over the weekend & we responded on 8/1/15 - Monday morning. He proceeded to contact us 23 hours later telling us we were not prompt enough. We pride ourselves in returning all calls & email very promptly & the time frame that this took is very acceptable business practice.
Very good. This is second time I have used DFW and they are consistently good. The manager William is very friendly and easy to contact. While there were the usual minor problems, once I let William know about it I had an answer or it fixed the next day. I had almost no problems with the exterior repairs and painting. The interior painter was a bit messy and they had to come back twice to get things right. In my personal experience in the past with painters, this is not an uncommon problem, so I don't blame DFW for it. Its extremely hard to get a painter that is good, punctual, and thorough. And if they are that good they are usually booked for the next 6 months. Overall I was very happy. They did the job they promised, they did it quickly, and they corrected any problems I found within a day.

Did a wonderful job, very neat lines, cleaned up all of their mess. Very friendly and professional. There was a problem with the paint color (was brighter than supposed to be) and they made it right, no argument and no extra cost. I live out of state (was a rental property they were working on in preparation for a sale). They repainted everything and worked with me to sort out the best color to fix the problem by sending me text messages with various samples to chose from, as well as comparison photos showing before and after, as well as in progress. Would highly recommend. Very honest.

He came. He measured. He gave us an estimate.
Description of Work: They gave us an estimate to have tile installed in 2 rooms. Theirs was the highest estimate and we decided to use another vendor.
DFWImproved is the best contractor I have worked with. The sales guy (Garrett Lambert) was knowledgeable, listened to what we wanted to do, used the same software as the insurance company and did a great job working with the insurance appraiser. Chad McCormick was the PM for the job and he did an excellent job managing the sub's, ensuring they knew what to do and getting the subs to the job as planned. Was also very impressed with the custom cabinets as the they fit perfectly the first time and they were able to match the color of the other existing cabinets that did not need to be replaced. All of the sub's did great work, made every effort to partition the areas they were working in to ensure the mess was contained and cleaned up before they left. I was shocked they were able to get our large single piece granite counter top out without breaking it. Great company to work with. High recommend them. Will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: extensive water damage required extensive replacement of drywall, cabinets, and wood flooring. This required removing granite counter tops, the farm sink, and all of the appliances.
