They were able to come out within a week of my contacting them which was ideal. The job went well as they completed the work that was needed done removing my kitchen wallpaper in areas that were double papered and hard to reach plus a good portion of other areas. They agreed to work on the day and timeframe I needed, showed up on time, and worked non-stop until the work was finished. Very hard workers. Will definitely have them back to do other work later.

BEWARE of CTG Custom Tile. We were remodeling one room and only needed window ledges and baseboards painted so we elected to try Angie?s List due to discount deals advertised. We saw some good reviews on a company called CTG Custom Tile, so we paid the $149, which included five hours of painting. We felt this job would certainly not take over five hours, so a $149 price was acceptable. When we called the contractor Clint he said we needed to provide the paint as it was not included in the price so we got a gallon of a brand he recommended costing another $35. Come to find out that was the wrong paint. (according the the real professional that we hired. And the real professional was right. After Nu Image finished you certainly could tell the difference and it was a lot better job.) On the day of the job, two painters arrived announcing that they would be there only 2.5 hours. The two arrived on time, came in and introduced themselves, and then went back out to their van until 30 minutes into the job. Not only that but one of them spent some time talking on his cell phone. The other worked at obvious turtle speed using an artist brush instead of a real painters bush to do the work. At the end of the 2.5 hours they collectively completed less than half of the job, and the work performed was amateur pitiful with brush strokes going both ways and spots missed. I told them that what was done was not satisfactory, and they should have also completed the job in 2.5 hours. They then called Clint and informed me that if I wanted the job completed that it would cost me another $150. I said no way as they should have easily completed the job within 2.5 hours. When they realized I was upset they left informing me that Clint would come out to inspect my complaint. He arrived saying very little while I pointed out the flaws in the job and restated that it should have been completed within the alotted time. He left saying he?d call me back, and he did about an hour later only to tell me it would still be another $150 for them to come back and finish the job. He said they would redo what they did and finish up for a flat $150 more. I told him I did not want the same painters back as I did not trust the work to be done professionally. I asked if he would send a different crew. Apparently, that was his only crew and he failed to respond back to a text sent to him basically leaving me twisting in the wind with a pathetic half-done job. After 24 hours had passed and still no response from Clint we contacted a local contractor (Nu Image) to redo and complete what CTG Custom Title unprofessionally ditched on us. Nu Image contractor took note and admitted it was very POOR WORK, and then quoted us a flat rate of $125, and he said it was only a two hour at best, and he?d just do it ALONE! He?d also furnished his own paint within that price as well. He came out a few days later and did a fabulous job and to his word finished slightly under TWO HOURS! We ended up being out $310 to get a simple job done that should have been only $125 to begin with had we not gone through ANGIE?s List. Clear and simple, CTG tried to stick us with a job costing us $335 (including us paying for the paint) for a simple trim job. It was beyond obvious CTG was working in turtle mode to create more dollars out of the job thinking we would not have a consumer clue how long it should take. I suppose they were hoping we'd just cave in and say yes to the additional $150 to complete since we had already committed $185. I do not see how nor care if they may have some good reviews. I would not recommend them to anyone, and I hope this review alerts others to be more cautious to CTG's business practices and lack of quality work. This was my first bad experience using Angie?s List, and I do regret allowing myself to be sucked in by what appeared on the surface to be a reasonable price only to be left open to be taken advantage. Bottom-line, I paid out $185 for absolutely nothing gained, but a lesson was learned - not all supposed discounted deals are truly good deals and entrusting that both timely and quality work will be rendered is not always what you get either. This certainly applies to CTG. If you truly want good work done with honesty in pricing, consider Nu Image. They won?t be slow or deliver poor work as we unfortunately experience with CTG. We ended up paying out a total sum of $335 for a simple trim job that should have only cost us $125. You have been warned by a fellow consumer about CTG Custom Tile.
Description of Work: They (2 men) were to paint base boards and 9 window ledges in one room in 5 man hours. They only completed less than have the room, saying that they would need another 5 hours to complete the job. The work they did was very unprofessional. Brush strokes going every which way. Spots were not even painted. They completed 5 of the windows and only 1 and half of the base boards. One of the SO CALLED PROFESSIONALS was painting with a artist paint brush. That at the most only covered 3/4 of an inch, and still he was missing parts of the ledge.

The crew I sent did not have time to finish the painting because they spent most of their time caulking and sanding down the windows, we quoted him 100-150 for finishing the paint job that being 2-3 hours of time, he was UN willing to pay more than 100 for the remaining work. The room was crammed with furniture close to a foot from the wall. and another crew was working in the room while my workers where there which did slow them down as well. I am sorry he was dis-satisfied, but believe it does not at all represent the quality of our finished work considering we were not able to finish. With tight scheduling I told him I might not be able to send someone else If he did not want the crew that was there to finish.

We were going back and forth on Angie messaging. We finally agreed on it. They were supposed to be here at 9 AM, 10/3.Clint sent Sean to do job, he was an hour late. I'm not saying he didn't do a good job, he worked steady. The problem was we agreed they would tell how many boards I would need and go get them. Sean miscounted and was 10 boards short. We got past that. Boards that were bad on top, he flipped over and used back side. It's a half done job. They would have to come back to seal deck. That's where we're at. Sean did call me Saturday to follow up, I will give him credit for that. Due to circumstances, I didn't call back until Monday. The problem I had for not calling back sooner is I have a very sick dog. I told him to not call me until late Tuesday. I had a big conference with specialists on my dog. They never called back. It has gone all week. I still need someone to come put paint down on deck.
Description of Work: They were supposed to repair my deck, wash it, and bleach it. They were going to seal as part of the deal.

This man was very pleasant and did an excellent job for me. I needed an extra hour for him to complete the items on my list but they all got done. I want him to come back and fix a front door walk way and in the future when I save enough money want him to tile my master bath and in the future more my main bath. Just an awesome experience. I am very pleased to have even met him.

I purchased the big deal coupon for this service and he was awful. I will not use him again. There were 3 guys including the owner. I really liked the 2 guys under the owner and they were fine. They were inexperienced and it was no fault of their own. The owner should have been here doing the work and he wasn’t. I thought I was hiring him. He showed up only for 2 days of the work, and then the job went over, and he just wasn’t very forthcoming and there was no contractor too. I don’t want to cause any problems or anything for him, but I think the work that they had done was just a little too involved for the 2 guys that were doing the work. The owner was irresponsive and wouldn’t return my phone calls. He wouldn’t give me any documentation or anything. He’s not a bad guy or anything, but he’s just inexperienced. He’s a nice and friendly guy.

We removed 2 inches of concrete a 1/4 inch metal sheet the tile, tar paper, replaced some of the subfloor, waterproofed with wedi, and set the new tile including base cove reset the 20 foot by 4 foot metal guard rail that we took down to the ground from the second floor and then put back up. The customer purchased non gauged slate that went from less than 1/8 of an inch to 7/8 of an inch in thickness and was 12 x 24 so it couldn't be split, My guys managed to set the floor level without having to do a full mud base in spite of the cheap slate the customer had purchased. The porch was level waterproof and looked really nice. We were rained out one day but we did an excellent job and i would not hesitate in having anyone look at the job we did when considering us to do work for them. We were not willing to simply set the slate and leave it completely uneven and offered to let her purchase better quality materials if she wanted to avoid the additional setting cost for the cheap slate. We finished up on the 6th full day of work. It would have been finished in 4 to 4 1/2 days if we had been provided with quality flooring material.

I have had some horrible experiences with handymen. So, I always have high anxiety when it comes to home repair. There was nothing complicated about my list of to-dos but I just never know. The handyman was about an hour late but he called to let me know. I was very satisfied with how quickly he performed each task. He was very confident and knowledgeable about his work. He installed a ceiling fan, install two light fixtures, installed a smoke detector and repaired sheetrock with time to spare. He gave me thorough details about my upcoming mini kitchen remodel. I will definitely use him again.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's list deal for 5 hours of work for $149.00.
Appointment was quickly made, he was on time, and everything was done really well. I will definitely use him again. Polite, courteous, professional. True pleasure!

When hanging the pictures up they did not use the hooks that we provided for them. Instead, they just used nails and scarred the wall up badly. We are now going to have to bring out a painter to redo the walls because it is not just some light touch up work.

The person I sent to the site used one of the boxes provided to mount the pictures, one of them did fall, but it was not because of the nail but because one of the brackets on the back of the piece holding a wire came off so it slid down the wall and discolored it since the other side was still attached. I offered to Re hang the pictures with whatever brackets he desired and touch up the paint on the wall. There were no gouges only discoloration. Also I told him if touching up the wall did not meet his satisfaction I would paint the wall. I went over to the site and spoke with him the next day he said he would let me know if he would like me to do touch ups. I have not heard back from him.

2 Guys arrived on time and we professional. Younger guys but had a good personality. Took instructions and got to work promptly. They seemed to have a little trouble figuring out which was doing which job but wasn't enough of an issue to cause alarm. Did a good job on most of the work except for the towel rod and settlement crack. I was my understanding previous home owner had possibly damaged the wall with old rod but CTG could have done a better job covering up the damage. The settlement crack was covered with cauking and painted over but doesn't look that well done. Finally they didn't spend the full 5 hours so some of the jobs could have been done with a little more care. Overall I would recommend them for basic painting and handyman work but not work on walls.

We offered to do a more thorough patch but told him that it would require coming back another day because we would have to wait long enough to sand down the patch something that takes more than 5 hours to accomplish due to dry time, then wait for texture to dry then paint to completely remove all evidence of the previous holes. They opted for the quick fix.

They were early, but didn't intrude on us until the time we agreed on (Early in the morning). During the job, they showed me how bad the damage was before proceeding further. They were tenacious in making sure that the job was fixed correctly and that I was satisfied.
Description of Work: Sean and Ricky are great guys! They picked up supplies needed for the job so I didn't have to, then came in and assessed all the tasks I had for them and they didn't refuse anything. I had a mess where water behind my washer had destroyed the wall, baseboard, and the insulation. They fixed it up to my specifications and took on some other jobs while they were here.

Another contractor referred us to CTG Custom Tile. I was so impressed by my first conversation with Clint, He took the time to explain the challenges of laying "look like wood" tile and answered my questions in detail. He provided recommendations to transition from our existing tile to the new tile..his design look so great that we are considering doing the same design in every room. We are perfectionists and overjoyed with the quality of work. Clint, Sean and Ricky have been a delight to work with and we plan to do future business with them.
Description of Work: We hired Clint to lay our kitchen floor tile. We selected porcelain tile that looks like hand scraped hard wood.
As I said above,CTG did everything from start to finish and had terrific attention to detail!
Description of Work: CTG completely remolded my kitchen, including removing corian counters, a bland backsplash, enlarging my island to make it a true breakfast bar and cooktop, installed a cooktop with a new down draft telescopic vent (very high tech), custom backsplash, composite granite sink (so gorgeous) and a new faucet. Everything was color coordinated and done to perfection! The backsplash had a wavy mosaic with a very nice trim. You really cannot get more professional work from anyone!

The results are remarkable! When I explained to Clint what my style was and that I wanted a nice blend between a classic stone and a contemporary look, he brought back an excellent travertine option. The product was actually brand new and had yet to be used in a residential capacity. I am thrilled with the look! I didn't want to do "what everyone else was doing." I still haven't seen it anywhere else and I get constant compliments on the finished product. Not only did CTG Custom Tile keep me ahead of the curve, Clint was very professional and easy to work with. He is thorough and extremely resourceful. I was impressed with his creativity and the level of pride he takes in his work. I am looking forward to working with this company again in the future.
Description of Work: CTG Custom Tile did a custom backsplash in my kitchen. They used a new product made of travertine that is very thick. This caused the electrical outlets to look sunken in. Luckily, Clint Goolsby is creative and resourceful! He came up with a solution to use pencil rail pieces to build the outlets out. It turned out incredible!

I had contracted with CTG Custom Tile to do a kitchen backsplash earlier this past year. Clint did such an amazing job that I hired him to do a dramatic stone finish on my fireplace. Clint is so easy to work with and his creativity is astounding! With his help, my home is transforming into quite a retreat! I get so many compliments on the fireplace. He was very quick in completing the project and he had to do quite a bit of detailed work. CTG Custom Tile has turned into my "go to" company for home remodeling. Next on the list, is a slate patio in my backyard!
Description of Work: CTG Custom Tile redid my fireplace using a beautiful stacked stone product. They altered my mantle to accommodate the dramatic look I wanted. The stone goes from floor to ceiling! Clint had to work meticulously with the stone surrounding the mantle. My mantle has detailed molding and the stone had to be cut very precisely in order to fit just right.
CTG was prompt, responsive and creative in solutions and options. They went above and beyond the call of duty to meet my very tight deadline. I was in the process of trying to sell my home and needed to minimize the time that my house was off the market. They worked long hours and late nights to complete the job. I was thrilled with the end product. They even installed a tile threshold to transition into the media room. I received excellent feedback on the media room from showings on my house. Everyone said they would love to have a house with "that" media room and the storage room. Those two features were major selling points for my house.
Description of Work: CTG converted an attic space to a media room with a cathedral ceiling and insulated attic space. CTG leveled the flooring in the attic that had 3 different levels, built walls, insulated the walls and ensured we still had access to the attic through a door and insulated the attic space to maximize the available storage.

Clint was on time, worked hard and we got exactly what he promised us. A great product with great service.
Description of Work: Clint did an amazing job on our kitchen backsplash. His tile choice nicely complimented our new granite countertops and he recommended a rectangular tile in a "brick style" pattern instead of the traditional square pattern - which gave us a beautiful kitchen! This company did bathroom remodeling. I found many defects after they completed work, contacted company. Initially they responded, then never picked up a phone or replied via e-mail, although they granted 2-years warranty. I had to hire third party plumbers to fix problems, which cost >$400. Pocket door was hung at an angle, had nails inside and became scratched, my husband had to fix it by himself. Ceiling fan was making strange noise, once dismantled, we found that they even did not bother to remove a wrap from the engine. Drywall around lights has holes.

The Customers Did their own demo for the bathroom Remodel, We did not do demo therefore we did not cause the ruble that was in the drain line from the bathroom and were not responsible for the cost of its removal. Also we suggested a plumbing service that would have only been 145 for the clean out and said we would cover the clearing of the drain if it was caused by the work that we performed. The person they chose instead for the plumbing charged them twice for the same service of cleaning out the drain, they should have done it the second time for free since they failed to properly clear it the first time. We cover issues which we are responsible for, They did not contact us concerning the scratch on the pocket door until after they had resolved it, we would have been more than happy to sand out the scratch on the pocket door ourselves, occasionally trim nails will shoot through and eventually cause a scratch on the door, there were none scratching the door when we left, however openeng and closing pocket doors they can adjust a little and make contact where they didnt previously do so. We are sorry that they are upset about their plumbing issues, if we had done the demo for their remodel we would have been more than happy to cover the plumbing issue if it had occured. However in over 10 years of buisness we have yet to clog a line, since we put a plug in them if were doing demo.
