Clark Irrigation Systems

Overall, I could not have been more pleased with the work done. They were very professional and wasted no time getting started, worked steadily and completed the job very quickly. In short, they arrived on-time, did the work they were asked to do, charged a fair price, and didn't leave a mess behind.

The first time Mr. Clark and his helper came out on the day and time frame agreed upon. Mr. Clark sat in his truck and his helper began checking the sprinklers. They told me a line had been cut (digital line had been put in). This stopped the back yard from working properly. They fixed the line and told me all my heads worked. Mr. Clark had me water my yard every day for a week. The next week I noticed part of my back yard was now growing like crazy and parts were continuing to die. The front yard was continuing to die and the flower bed was also continuing to die. There are 7 large, well established holly bushes leading to the front door. Four are completely dead and the other 3 are dying. I called Mr. Clark back and it was 7-10 days before he could come back. When he came back he say "well, your right your front yard isn't getting water." Mr. Clark told me a line had been broken. Since the front yard had never gotten water, this is a problem that existed when Mr. Clark was here last time. They had also not check all the sprinkler heads outside the fence. They did check some because I saw the helper outside the fence the first time they were here. I have since had a different sprinkler company here because my yard, although better, was still dying in places. They told me that I had improper heads in places that were not able to reach the whole section they were assigned too. That's the reason some places were still dying. I don't know if Mr. Clark's helper put in the wrong heads or if the wrong heads were already in place but Mr. Clark didn't talk to me and replace them. The second sprinkler company also told me the flower bed sprinklers were putting out water but they were too low to water the area needed. Mr. Clark didn't bother to identify the problem or fix the problem. Mr. Clark didn't charge a lot but neither did he fix my sprinklers to try to save my yard (I had made it clear that that was my priority). I will not use him or his helper again nor recommend his to anyone else.

I've never had my sprinkler system worked on in the 10 years I've had my house and I had a least one broken sprinkler head and others that weren't working properly. Mr. Clark and his helper were scheduled to arrive at 3;00 but he called me at noon and said they could come by earlier (2:00) if it was OK with me. They arrived on time and immediately went to work. They replaced some of the heads and adjusted others to ensure my yard was receiving proper coverage. This included digging up the ground around some of the heads. They completed the job in an our and were very efficient.

They provided excellent service for a good price.

Good experience overall. Steve arrived on time and identified the broken valve. He and his helper repaired the valve and replaced the old heads that were in need of replacing. Total time was 1.5 hrs, the charge for parts was reasonable. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to fully check out the water pattern because of the watering restrictions but plan to do so on my next watering day.

They came out and were very efficient. They fixed it perfectly and it is working better than ever.

Steve (owner) was very punctual and even arrived early and was working on my system when I got there. I shared with him my objectives and my concern that I was not getting the right amount of water on portions of my yard and that maybe my heads needed to be adjusted/moved. There is no doubt that Steve knows his trade, but there were a number of obvious issues I immediately noticed and more importantly issues that popped up later. Steve had one "helper" with him. This helper was the one who walked around the house to check the system and actually perform the work. Steve just sat/stood around the front of the house letting this other guy do the work. Steve was spending time talking to me about new sprinkler technology, but he obviously had no interest in actually helping his helper do the work correctly or make it go more quickly. (I found this a little odd but figured this helper must have been with him for a while and was very good, given all of the positive reviews on Angie's List.) But again it was very obvious that Steve did not want to walk my entire yard to help this guy do the evaluation and make sure nothing was missed. Further, it was very clear that this helper had very little motivation or interest in working hard that day. It was written all over his face and I could tell that Steve noticed this too. At one point, they thought they were finished with the adjustments to the heads/nozzles and I asked Steve to look at my side yard (again) because I was concerned about that area. He immediately knew that I needed different nozzles. (Why didn't the helper catch this??) Then Steve had to remind him a second time to do the work after I pointed out to him that it still was not addressed. Then they were doing one last 2-minute test of my system (which Steve did not participate in) and I watched the helper from inside my house as he slowly walked along the side of my house not really doing anything. It was almost as if he were gazing at the grass/water and day-dreaming about something else. This continued to bother me because I knew I was paying for this by the hour, so time was money. But I am not normally confrontational and did not make it an issue to Steve. (Maybe I should have said something.) While the entire job took longer than it probably would have with 2 people working normal speed, I was not concerned because I did not care what it cost to make sure my system worked perfectly. (And that is what I asked Steve for from the beginning. Price was not an issue. Just make sure all of my yard had full coverage with adequate volume.) So within two weeks I noticed a couple of areas getting a little more brown. When I went to test a side yard area, I realized that the head was overshooting the area and appeared to not get any water. I know for a fact that Steve never laid eyes on this part of my turf and obviously the uninterested helper did not think there was a reason to adjust anything here. The back yard around my pool was also dying and a landscape architect said it looked like a water issue (not fungus or anything else like that). I looked closer at that area and realized that water did not hit areas of this grass very well either. I thought maybe it was simply a nozzle issue so I went to a supply store to try to get a shorter spraying nozzle to hit these affected areas. It got better but was still not perfect. Finally after a few more weeks of those areas dying, I called Steve. I explained my issue and that I thought it would be only reasonable that he did not charge me the minimum 1 hour service fee ($90) if he could come by and fixed both areas in say 15-20 minutes (since he is the expert). He did not like my request and informed me how hot it is outside, that he was working 12 hour days and that he does not work for free. Then he said to call him back in 15 min as he was in route some where. When I called back, he was busy and wanted me to call him back again. I called back the next week and the conversation did not go well. I told him I did not expect him to work for free, but I did not think he adjusted my system completely the first time and that I should only be billed for the pro rata time that he worked. After another minute of discussions, I started telling him my issue with his helper and that they (actually the helper) missed some more areas of my yard, and this is when Steve hung up on me. Maybe our call was dropped, but I doubt it or he would have had the courtesy to call back. Bottom line, I do not care how busy a business is or how hot it is outside. The customer should be treated better than I was. My yard is dying in areas as a result of water not getting to them, and Steve was unwilling to work me into the schedule to fix the problem (which would likely only take him 15 minutes even if a new head or two needed to be added) without charging me the minimum $90. I was completely comfortable paying him for the labor and parts to fix my problems, but he was highly offended by what I thought was a reasonable and equitable solution for correcting some things that should have been caught the first time. So, I did not have a favorable experience and cannot recommend this company to anyone. I give them a "C" on quality because what they did do, was good, but they missed important aspects. Now I will need to engage a separate company to fix my problem areas. What a shame.

When I called Mr Clark for an appointment, I shared 1-zone would not stop watering. Mr Clark advised I could cut the water off just for the sprinkler system & more importantly where the cut off was & how to do it. I had cut the water off for the entire home, not knowing I could just cut the water off for just the sprinkler. BIG HELP!! Mr Clark was very knowledgeable and was not deterred by 1-zone not watering at all (bad sprinkler head, water just flowing in a strong stream on the sidewalk) and another zone wouldn't stop watering (bad valve stuck in the open position) Mr Clark programmed our sprinkler system to comply with Plano's new watering restrictions (2-days per week & only during certain hours). I am very happy and will call Mr Clark again when we have our next sprinkler problem. I feel the bill was very reasonable and we received professional work.

An excellent experience from start to finish. Came a little early, got to work, showed me the damaged section of pipe, made all repairs, showed me how to make adjustments for future reference...then he honored the AL coupon! I highly recommend Clark Irrigation and will use them again in the future.

Great job! Better than expected! Clark Irrigation Systems is great. I would recommend them highly. And I have a very short recommendation list. ;-) If I move in the future, I will call Clark Irrigation Systems to test the system. Steve scheduled me the same week that I called. The other companies wanted me to wait another week. Arrived on time on a Saturday. Steve and his assistant found my leak quickly. Initially, I pointed Steve and his assistant to the wrong part of the line. Fortunately, Steve saw quickly that the leak was somewhere else and identified the correct location of the leak. His assistant fixed my leaking sprinkler line as requested. He worked quickly and did a very good job. As a result, I will save $ on future water bills because water would stream down the sidewalk from the leak when watering.. In addition, Steve talked to me about the 30% of the front yard grass that was brown. First, Steve instructed me to increase the time for these areas because they were watered with rotors. Second, Steve diagnosed that the sprinkler system design required rotors in 3 spots that had small sprinkler heads (came with the house when purchased 4 years ago.) After installing 3 rotors, it was very obvious that Steve was right. When the water was turned on. I could see water hitting the brown grass. Plus, I could see from the layout of the watering spots that it made sense to install rotors. You see, the distance among all 7 rotors is much greater than the distance between pop-up sprinkler heads. (One of Steve's tips!) ;-) Finally, Steve's assistant fixed 8 other heads. Again, very fast and very good.

Steve and his crew were prompt, knowledgeable, and professional. They quickly determined what the problems were with our sprinkler system and fixed them in less than 30 minutes. They did an excellent job.

We're very happy with the work performed and will definitely use them again.

Perfect. System is fixed. No worries. I had forgotten the Angie's List discount, but Clark remembered so he refunded it to me. He's a straight-up good guy, no nonsense, honest, does great work as far as i am concerned. Will use again if ever needed.

Steve arrived early and was ready to go to work. I had three sprinklers replaced. Two broken pipes fixed. One of the broken pipes was located under a flagstone patio. They located and fixed the leak. Thereafter carefully replacing the stonework. They did great work at a great price. If you are in the DFW metroplex i would not use anyone else for your irrigation needs.

They were early and diagnosed the problems I was having then fixed them. I thought I had leaks, but the valve was the problem. They knew what they were doing and were friendly and competent.

Mr. Clark and his assistant arrived on time. After discussing what needed to be done, they went right to work. They discovered that 9 sprinkler heads needed to be replaced and redirected 3 of the heads to avoid soaking the patio. The whole job took approximately one hour and I could not be happier with the service that I received. I would definitely recommend them and will use them in the future.

Steve called to let us know he was running about a half hour late, which did not inconvenience us. After locating the valve control, he discovered that it was not the valve but a loose screw on the relief valve. He tightened it and since we had never had the system serviced he proceeded to do that. He checked all the zones and heads and replaced about 12. We were pleased with the work that was done and felt the price was reasonable. We will have him service our system annually and we certainly recommend anyone in need of this type of service. Besides all that, we really enjoyed talking to him!

They have done a couple of things for me. I called them back twice because I like them. They are great. They are very responsive. They come out and do the work. Their price is very fair. When it comes to quality, they go above and beyond. They actually showed me other customers’ sprinklers. He was out the next day and was also here 10 minutes early. I would definitely use their services in the future too. In fact, they are in my file folder.

Clark Irrigation showed up a few minutes early and got the repair done promptly. I gave a "B" on price becasue all sprinkler repair companies are expensive - Clark no more than the others. I only give an "A" to compaines that charge less than the competition, Overall, it was a good experience.

We found the water running on Thursday afternoon before the Memorial Day weekend. We called one company we have used before, and Clark Irrigation, hoping to get someone out on Friday but no luck. Both companies could come the next Tuesday, and were rated highly on Angie's List, but Clark quoted us a cost for a replacement valve that was half of what the other company quoted, so we chose them. We had an appointment for 2 pm, and my husband was preparing to leave work to meet them at the house when he got a call from the workman, saying tha they had come by, turned on the sprinkler water, found the leaking valve and repalced it, and were leaving us the invoice! And yes, the valve cost us the lower price. Excellent service and great initiative!

We made an appointment for third week in May. Because of the stormy weather, they were not able to come. We had to call them to reschedule after waiting for about 3 hours. So we rescheduled for the next Saturday, they never called or showed up. We still have not heard from them. They set us back a week to repair a leak in a sprinkler pipe. We called another company who came out and fixed the problem.

Very happy with the performance.

I called and made an appointment for the next day. They arrived a little early which was fine with me. They work quickly to repair and check the whole system in1 1/4 hours. I was very please with the work and would use them again.

Steve was knowledgeable and came across as very competent. I was able to get an appointment quickly - about 2 days after I called and even on a Saturday which was perfect. He did a good job, seemed honest and forthright. I would use him again.
