Description of Work: We used the services of Chimney & Wildlife Services. He came out and inspected our chimney and he cleaned what was needed. He identified areas that needed servicing. He repaired cracks that were in the fireplace itself. He also looked at the animal control to keep animals off from the chimney and he also looked into fire safety. Another issue he addressed was the efficiency of the chimney and he made it worked better. So , we addressed the fire issue and some of the efficiency issues. He recommended something to make it better. He addressed the animal and weather issue, we placed a new costumed cap that go all the way to the top of the chimney. The design he made was very similar to the roof we placed that year. It was quite a work, but it will take us seven years or more to call him again for the service.

 + 1 moreChimney & Wildlife Specialist came to our home on 11/17/2012 -- Tech was present only 5-10 minutes, at best, and ours was the last call of the day. I think he did very little, as I had him come back into the home after he said he was finished, because there was still soot in the fireplace. Don't think he did much else but clean the immediate area -- not worth $89, and I would not have that company return. While he was nice and polite, he was anxious to get home to his family; tech's name was "Jack." I think Chimney & Wildlife Specialist could have done more for the $89!

 + -1 moreThat was wonderful, that man was very gracious, did a wonderful job and we were delighted so there was no problem. I believe he came from out of town and he was on time, we were just impressed with him, it was very helpful.

 + -1 moreI had a fireplace that was not working. A very nice young man named Josh came to the house and took a look at our fireplace only to discover that is was not broken, and that we actually did not know how to turn it on. He showed us how to work it, and did not even charge us for the call.

 + 0 moreIt was okay. They got the job done in about 15 minutes and I found out that they only went about 5 ft. up into the chimney and I was a little dissatisfied about that. I do not think they did the job as thoroughly as they could have. The technicians were fine. The scheduling was easy.

 + -1 moreThe gentleman, Paul Herman, was absolutely the perfect gentlemen, so knowledgeable, gave options very clearly, very devoted to humane removal of animals. He came to my home three times to get the job completely finished. After he installed the wire contraption, he came back a week later to remove it, but since we knew the squirrels hadn't all left yet, he left it another week. It was really great that he didn't charge me for the second trip and still came back a week later to remove the wire door. He then ensured during his last visit that the hole was covered and no more squirrels should be able to get into my attic.
Description of Work: Put wire contraption over major hole from squirrels in the attic so next time they got out they couldn’t get back in.

 + 0 moreFound provider through Angies list. Appointment set up for April 8th. Initial time given 9am. My wife waited till 930 and when we called they apologized for system problems and double booking and offered to come later the same day at 12. No one showed up till 1245 and that got me upset. We decided to wait it out. Finally they showed up- explained reason for delay- nature of earlier jobs, unpredictability etc. I reminded them that we had work to do as well and they could have communicated better. He checked out the 2 fire places- professional, pointed out features, things to look out for and cleaned both fireplaces, vacuumed the area, gave us the discount for going through Angie's. Overall job was well done.

 + 1 moreChecked our attic for wildlife as we had heard noises in one wall of the house. Rats were found and traps set. Ben Close the technician checked for any possible openings were a rat could come in and then sealed all openings. There is a 3 year warranty on this work and we have not had any wildlife return. We were pleased with job done cleaning chimney and gas logs.
Description of Work: Trapped wild animals, proofed the perimeter of roof/eaves for any further visits of animals, and cleaned chimney and gas logs.

 + 3 moreIt went very well and I would recommend them for anyone needing to have the service and/or repair.
Description of Work: They actually came twice - the first time on 3/10 to do a chimney/fireplace check where they determined I needed repair work on my chimney and chimney cap after I had a squirrel come down the chimney into my fireplace. They came back on 3/13 to do the repair work. They replaced the wood on the back of the chimney (it is brick only on 3 sides), replaced the trim and added extra mesh to the chimney pipe so that animals could not get under the cap. They did an excellent job, cleaned up after themselves and were very professional. They showed me pictures of the before and after so I wouldn't have to climb on the roof to see what was done. I am very pleased with their work.

 + 1 moreIt was wonderful and they did a great job. They brought in a cloth to keep everything clean. I did not have to cleanup anything once they were done. He also showed me the places where rodents could get into my home and gave me an estimate to have those areas fixed. He came back the next day and fixed those areas for me. I thought he was very professional and he was on time. I have recommended them to several other people.

 + 2 moreIt went great! He was so professional yet personal. He even went up on the roof multiple times, even when it was getting dark to make sure our chimney was in good working order/to do repairs. Stayed past his quitting time and didn't seem put out at all. He was happy to do the work and make sure our house was safe. Getting the appointment set up was a little bit of a problem but everyone worked to get it fixed and was super friendly.
Description of Work: Inspected and cleaned out chimney and fireplace, painted the fireplace black, inspected and cleaned out our dryer.
