I found the company on Angie's List and they had good reviews. I get the impression the whole company is run on just a few cell phones. Originally contacted the company regarding a set of gas logs. Part of their offer included a recommended chimney cap. Due to the cost of both the gas logs and the chimney cap being more than anticipated, I chose to do the chimney cap first. I found a coupon for their services on Angie's List. I chose this company for the chimney cap due to the method of securing the cap to the top of the chimney. It seems to be a more secure method than relying on adhesives on brick and mortar. The original installation date was to be 1/8 after the cap was manufactured. Due to a problem at some point in loading the finished product, the cap was destroyed and another had to be made. It was not until 2 weeks later that I received a message that they wanted to install on Sunday. It was last minute and I was not home. I didn't even know I had a new chimney cap until I got a follow up call and was asked how I liked it. Once I was able to check it out in the daylight, it was the design chosen and the installation method looked to be as described. I have yet to install the gas log set or weather a storm to enjoy the function of the chimney cap, but now I am ready to move forward.

Things went very good. I had been searching for someone to do the above work for weeks and most of the roof leak repair companies that I contacted didn't even bother responding my phone calls. The owner of Chimney & Wildlife Specialists, Tony, came and met me in person, gave me several options, and was very professional and friendly. We scheduled the service and they came exactly at the time they said they would and got it done exactly as they said they would. Their pricing was a bit high, I thought, but it was worth the service, especially because in this industry, it seems hard to find someone professional and serious about their work. I definitely recommend them.

Very nice, on time. Didn't charge me because there was nothing to do. Honest. Will definitely use in the future if needed.

I needed an inspection of my chimney before using it for the first time. Tony's inspection revealed some issues with the bricks near the top of the chimney. I scheduled another appointment for him to return and do the repair. The pricing was extremely fair... the repair actually came in below the estimate, and the cost of the original inspection was applied toward the repair. Overall, I would characterize Tony as professional, friendly, and very honest. Highly recommended.

The provider arrived on the scheduled day, calling ahead to confirm the time. They provided a good inspection of the roof and chimney from an animal control perspective. Additionally, they found a small issue and quickly repaired. Their representative was both courteous and knowledgeable.

Fixed my problem and was very professional

I thought long and hard about this review and what to write. I was pleased with the way the owner of the company resolved the problems I had with this job, but there were some bumps. The first part of the job went well, and they removed the raccoons quickly and effectively. They also made and installed a nice new chimney cap and Josh, the worker, cleaned my chimney very well. My problems came with the cricket they did for the roof near my chimney. This work was performed by another person, according to the company. When it was done, there was no flashing on the sides of the chimney, as was explained to me. I had to wait about a week for that to be done and when it was, it was completely wrong and very unsightly. The sealant looked as if it was simply squeezed out of a tube and no smoothing was done at all. It was awful. I took pictures and sent them to the worker with whom I first dealt, Josh, who promised me it would be resolved. The owner, Tony, did eventually look at the work and agreed it was badly done. He did make sure it was fixed and did not press me for payment, which I said I would not make until I was satisfied with the work. All in all, despite that one bump, I was pleased with the work. I would recommend the company to others, but if roof work or flashing of any kind is done, get photos of the finished product and make sure it's done well.

Unknown to us, a mother skunk was apparently raising her young in a pocket under our slab caused by erosion. The mother was wounded by a dog and died in the burrow, leaving four babies roaming our front lawn. When they did not move on after several days, we sought a removal service. We tried C&W Specialist because the service we used for a previous incident was unreasonably priced. A 2-man crew arrived promptly (not over 24 hours) after we called and set live traps for the babies. Trapping took a couple of trips because the traps didn't close on the very lightweight animals. Finally, two were in the trap, one died, and a fourth was still at large. Returning, C&W captured the loose baby and removed all live skunks to an animal rehabilitator. On a third trip, they removed the remains of the adult skunk from the burrow, and surrounding soil, then mixed cement to fill the cavity. They explained that odors left by the resident skunks would make this place a target for digging and home-making by other animals in the future if only filled with dirt. They sprayed chemical deodorizer, and offered to return to spray more if the odor lingers after a couple of days.

Went fine. The chimney sweep explained everything he did and made some suggestions for the future.

Tony Darrah responded and found a couple of small areas of concern. He applied additional sealers. Waited a couple of days and returned to check effectiveness of sealants. After spraying water all over cricket and chimney area, it appears that water leak has been corrected. I'm very satisfied with all the work that Tony & Josh has performed. I will continue to use them and to recommended to others.

Carlos was very punctual and knew what he was doing. He even came back to check on a holiday to make sure everything was OK. I would definitely recommend this business to anyone with an animal/wildlife issue in their home.

Unfortunately, the worker closed up the drain for my AC unit, not realizing what it was. I found out when my AC stopped working properly, and I had to call the company that maintains my system to come out. They found the stopped up drain and removed the foam that was used to close it. Other than that, the service from Chimney and Wildlife Specialists was very good.

Arrived on time, professional and listened to what I thought was a problem. Did an inspection of the chimney/chimney cap, etc. Found no evidence of any dead animal or any animal activity. Said he would return if I heard the noises again. I told him that I got the company name from Angie's List as I am a member but that was not taken into consideration with the price. That was why I ranked a B for Price.

Everything went great, will use them again.

Called C&W and Hiram set up an appointment for the next day. Hiram came out on a Sunday to resolve our concerns. Located the areas that needed attention and corrected both of them. Hiram was on time and went right to work. Hiram was very professional and did the work in a timely manner. Hiram went over all the possibilities on how to correct my concerns. He explained what materials he would be using and how they would be used. He also explained the charges for his services prior to starting the job order. Everything was explained and understood before he started working. I would recommend Hiram for any squirrel or raccoon removal. He was great.

After hearing noises in my attic, I called Chimney and Wildlife Specialist and had them come out to set a trap and see what was going on. They also did an inspection of my home and animal proofed the outside to make sure nothing could get in again. They called back promptly and came when they said they would be here. After the initial visit, everything was good for a while. A few months later I heard noises again in my attic and walls and called them to come back out as they said they give a 5 year warranty on the animal proofing they did previously. Somehow a squirrel got into our attic so they animal proofed again. Now, a few months later I am hearing noises again in my attic and have called twice for them to come out but no one has returned my call. I am very disappointed that the animal proofing is not working and that no one is calling me back to make an appointment to come out and fix the problem. I will have to call another service and pay again for what was supposed to be covered for 5 years with Chimney and Wildlife Specialist.

Our representative, Jack, was on time and very professional and courteous. We were very happy with the service.

On their first visit to my home, Chimney & Wildlife Specialists cleaned my chimney as I'd requested and provided an estimate for additional work that was needed, both to my chimney and to my attic. On the next visit, Hiram performed the additional chimney work, adding mortar, a cap and bird screen. I also engaged C&WS to seal some access points to the attic that wildlife had created or found and were utilizing. Hiram's work in this area was a great as the work he'd done on the chimney. He found all of the access points, repaired what needed repair, and completely sealed off my attic. My attic is a multi-level attic and he set traps in both, made return visits to check, remove & reset new traps as necessary. The only inhabitants of my home now are those who've been invited. Hiram was friendly, professional, punctual, honest. His quotes were fair and the work he performed did not exceed the estimates he'd previously provided. Lastly, I asked him if C&WS did roofing work, as I thought I needed a new roof. He told me he'd look at my roof while inspecting for wildlife access points. When he finished, he told me that my roof was in good shape and that I did not need a new roof, nor were any repairs necessary to my roof. Can't tell you how much I appreciated his honesty and the evaluation. I highly recommend Chimney & Wildlife Specialists, and especially recommend Hiram!!

I had a bad experience with this company. Without getting into too many details, it had to do with charging a service fee to show up and us having conflicts with our schedules. I was able to talk to two different directors or managers and they changed my thoughts of the company. They were both very courteous and took the issue to heart. They both went out of their way to make sure all problems were resolved and everybody walked away happy. Bottom line is if you know you need to get work done, there are plenty of good reviews here to attest to the capabilities. If you need to get a quote, there are plenty of other companies that will provide a free quote.

Setup appt for measuring chimney. All went well. Custom cap was fabricated and installed timely and professionally.

He did a good job. They did do the job. They had an "A" rating. I paid another helper to help the technician. I paid more. They overloaded the guys schedule and he ran late. This worker was upset about how things were run and I got caught in the middle. The work was fine. The price was good.

He was extremely nice, prompt, fast and left the room just as it was, if not cleaner. He was informative as well and suggested that we seal some large holes in the fireplace that could potentially allow smoke to enter the walls of the home. Great experience. Thank you!
