I was pleased with them. They were very professional and very nice. The problem isn’t completely fixed, but I plan to call them again. They were VERY knowledgeable regarding my toilet issues. I have a very old house so the flapper is uncommon to come by. They are able to provide me with additional information. There were no additional costs with The Big Deal.

Prompt appearance, took off is shoes--nice touch. Was very informative in explaining the problems and what he could do to solve it. Made the repairs, and tested to make sure all was working fine.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service, but the plumber did not do any work for me. When he came out I asked him to replace a fixture and he told me they did not make them any more. When I told him I had one with me he said it was not very good to repair. He gave me some good advice, which is fine. Then I asked him about a drain in my tub and he said it was old and could not be snaked out anymore so advised me to use some acid. Then I asked him about my kitchen sink and he said he could not fix it and that it would have to be replaced, which is true. He gave me an estimate for the tub fixture and it was $463. The labor to replace the kitchen faucet was going to be $125. I found another plumber who came out. I asked him about the work that had to be done and he moved my pipes, put in the new fixture, snaked the drain in the tub and replaced my kitchen faucet. He did all of the work for about $370. Initially, when the first plumber came out, some of the information he gave me was not true, some was true, but the price was outrageous. So I ended up spending $89 for a Big Deal to find out that I won't go to a big company again. The biggest reason I would not use them again is because he gave me some misinformation. When he was here we had a good conversation, he took plenty of time and he gave me a written estimate, that was all good, but I got the impression that he did not want to do the work. He showed up on time for the appointment.

BFP came out and gave me an estimate to connect two new faucets. I estimated the work could be completed in less than an hour by a professional. The technician gave me an estimate for over $700 total which would have left me with a $500+ bill after applying the deal. He said it was not an easy undertaking and would take him a few hours to complete. Needless to say, I refused the service, as I thought I was being taken advantage of. I've since then had the work done by another contractor as part of a project. It took about forty minutes to complete and cost less than a third of the BFP quote.

During the tune up it was determined that the fill valve needed to be replaced and that cost an additional $120. The toilet flushes much better than it did before. I was satisfied by the work done and the cost.

I responded to an email sent out by Angie's List for an $89 deal for $200 worth of plumbing work. The appointment was set for today to hook up plumbing after granite countertop installation. When I told the plumber that I had bought new faucet and disposal, he then told me it would cost $868 to install them!! I was completely amazed when he told me the cost. I mentioned the $89 deal and he then said he'd subtract $200 off the total. I told him that was still a ridiculous charge and that I had had similar work done in the past for less than $100. He said I better call them then and I proceeded to ask him to leave. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone.

We had purchased the big deal to save a little bit of money and trouble of doing it on our own. He had showed up to my house and I had received a paniced call from my wife after he had said it would cost $782. He had been there for two hours. My mistake was that I should have let home depot do it for around $380 dollars. When I questioned the $782 he had mentioned that he could walk away and just pay for a serivce call. They advertise that they will pay $1 for every minute they are late, however, they don't give you a specific time, just a time slot. They should just give a time. They had offered multiple coupons but then told me that I could only use one.

Plumber was timely, friendly and extremely professional.

We did not have any additional charges for the service. They came out and installed a new anti-freeze faucet outside. When you turn it on, water leaks out of it, so I thought that they had installed it incorrectly and when they came back out to check it for me, they explained that that was just the kind of faucet that it was. It actually leaks out that water so that the water does not freeze, then they did the review of our hot water heater. So, they installed the faucet correctly but they did forget to do our hot water heater the first time that they came out. That was the first time that we have used them. They were very punctual, on time and when I called with the concern, they were out there on the same day. They did everything right. We have not had any issue with the faucet or the water heater since then. They were really great.

This was after the freeze here and we had lost power. There were two leaks identified after power was restored. He showed up on time. Identified the problems immediately. He took about an hour to fix all the problems.

He determined the toilet was setup as a low flush toilet and could be tweaked and that the flapper was leaking severely and needed replaced. He took care of both matters with the toilet. The shower drain needed to be cabled out to clean and he found a wad of hair that had been there for probably a decade. It was as big as his hand. We've only lived here a year so it was good to get this problem fixed. A previous plumber, under the home owner warranty had looked at the same drain but only used a coat hanger, yes a coat hanger to declog the same drain. The Benjamin Franklin guy was very professional and had the right tools. I highly recommend this company to anyone with drain or plumbing problems. He gave an evaluation before doing the work and told me what the cost would be. No surprises and GREAT service!

We were very pleased with the responsiveness (and the availability of plumbers on Sunday). We were also pleased with the manner in which Ken discussed the problem(s) and options with us. Because we were so pleased with the way Ken handled the initial repair, we requested him on subsequent visits. While Ben Franklin's prices aren't necessarily the lowest, they are definitely in line with other large plumbing services and I know they will stand behind their work.

They quoted me an astronomical price of $503 just to snake the house from the roof, which I have had done in the past and paid under $200. I recently called this plumber out to do work on my rent house because our regular plumber was booked. At first the seemed great. But then it got awful. I should first tell you that their prices are more than double what any other plumber charges. Not an exaggeration. They quoted me $503 just to snake the house from the roof. I have had this done before and didn't pay anywhere near that. I was so shocked I called the company before agreeing to pay. I also called 3 other plumbers to get quotes for comparison. The 3 other quotes ranged from $117 to $189 for the exact same service. I tried to reason with the guy at the main office and ask him why the prices were so high. Finally I agreed to pay ONLY because my renters were short on time and I didn't want to make them wait for another plumber. At that point the service manager told me, "I don't think it's in our best address to service this house since you seem to be upset about the price". I couldn't believe it. I told him, again that it was fine and I would just pay it. He refused and told me they wouldn't do it. So, I am just warning you. Double the price and unprofessional. When I called another plumber, they were not surprised to hear that Ben Franklin charged that much. They just laughed and said "Yeah, we have heard". Good luck and fair warning.

This was my first experience with Ben Franklin plumbing, and it likely won't be my last. I had heard about them on the radio and remembered that they had a focus on puncuality which is important to me. I requested this service same day and not only were they on time, they were early (called ahead to let me know). It was a simple job and they took care of what needed to get done quickly and efficiently. The worker was very friendly and professional.

Scheduling was great; they were able to come out for the service within a week of my call. The service turned out wonderful. One technician came for the service and he did the job quickly.

I bought the toilet tune- up to fix a running toilet. Service was great.

I purchased a Bid Deal for $79 that included replacing one outdoor faucet. Charley arrived on time and was very personable. He determined that the faucet needed replacing and that the faucet had been soldered to the pipes in the wall by the home builder. He had to cut through the drywall inside the house and cut the old faucet off the pipe. He soldered a new connection to the pipe so new faucets could easily be replaced in the future. He did a good job, however I think he should have caulked around the new faucet to keep outside pests from getting in the wall. I bought the appropriate caulk at the local hardware store and solved that problem. I also thought the price was a bit steep, especially considering that I now have to hire someone to repair the drywall in the house. Overall I am happy and would probably use their services again.

They tried to up-sell me two new toilets for over $1800....a ridiculous overcharge. I called the office later asking for a detailed quote explaining how they came to the quote and my call was never returned. I can find the exact toilet on amazon for $249. So that means he wanted to charge $1300 for the install for two?? Speaking with another plumber, he said the entire job should be around $50 + parts. This experience left a very bad impression and felt like they tried to take advantage of me.

It went very well. Art, the craftsman, did a good job. I thought that the $100 extra cost to drill three holes in the concrete and set the sleeve that the original installer had failed to do was a bit excessive compared to the time it took Art to do the work. I don't know if $100 is a fair price or not especially if there is a likelihood of "issues". Might be fair. Don't know.

Was very timely and courteous. Fixed my bathroom toilet and it works perfectly now.

We called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and a couple of other providers for estimates. Benjamin Franklin had done some work for us on the same outside plumbing line, and we thought that some of the work would be covered under warranty. However, they explained that the previous work was not covered, as we had opted at the time not to convert the old PVC/Quest pipes to copper -- and Benjamin Franklin was unable to provide a warranty on PVC/Quest pipes. While the quote was somewhat on the high side, Benjamin Franklin was willing to provide a firm timeline and cost estimate. They were willing to lower the price very slightly. Once the price and timing had been fixed, they were very professional. They came to the house, dug up the old plumbing lines and replaced the old pipes with new copper tubing. A warranty was provided on parts and labor. My only complaint is that I wish they had been more professional about restoring the lawn to a condition closer to the original. There is still an ugly ridge in the lawn where they had to dig up the old plumbing line. (I realize that this is a landscaping issue, rather than a plumbing one, and I don't know if other plumbing providers would respond any differently.)
