The initial advertised work they did was good. The people were great to work with. They were prompt and clean. They then replaced a toilet in the master BR which was well done but expensive. Asked for estimate on water heaters since ours were getting old. THEN shortly thereafter we had a leak in the W.H. that is in the attic over the living room. A mess. Fire dept turned off the water. Ben Franklin came and drained the W.H. very promptly. Got another estimate from them to replace 2 water heaters, both in the attic. $4800. Seemed a little steep so I called the plumber that we have used before and all the same work and the same brand would be replaced for $2600. Another estimate from another plumber was $3500. Sooooo my conclusion is that the work they do and their promptness is great but that they are outrageously overpriced. I will check with the plumber when he comes to replace the heaters as to what he would have charged to replace the toilet and I have no doubt that I paid much too much for that job. So I got the original deal from Angie's List that was very cheap but then it got very expensive. I wouldn't use them again.

The agent was very professional and prompt. He kept in constant touch with us concerning our faucet problem. He worked for over 3-4 hours. The project ended up being very complicated be because of the age and uniqueness of the faucet system. He called for additional help and they were fantastic. Charlie has done several plumbing projects around our house. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Nancy C.

did not have with him the shower head selection indicated in the phone call so accepted a different model took a little longer than expected -- almost 2 hrs to replace had bought a $50 voucher for $25, on arrival said it should not have been sold to me and didn't accept it. angies took care of the refund promptly service man was polite and thorough

After the work was completed I noticed that there was an issue with the kitchen faucet - where I was told that the aerator was "replaced". The faucet cannot be changed to spray mode now - if the water is running. I called to have them come back and fix it. They indicated that it could not result from their work. Apparently it's coincidental that the spray function worked prior to their working on the faucet. At that point, I also found out that the aerator was not replaced, but only cleaned. My receipt indicates that it was replaced. I don't know if the other aerators and the shower cartridge were really replaced or only cleaned. Based on this, I probably would not have the confidence to use them again.

They arrived at the end of their window. Work was done professionally and appears good quality. I did have to argue a little with the plumber about a feature with the faucet that he said it was not designed to do. After I showed him the box and wording on the faucet, he was able to get it to work as described. However, they charged me $800 for two hours labor which I feel is way overboard.

I have called the plumber who took the water sample to inquire about when I will receive my report. He does not return my calls now. I have called the local office in Houston, TX and informed them of my complaint. Local office has not returned my call. I have informed them that I want my money back for services not rendered. It does not take over three weeks for a water sample to be rendered. The normal turnaround time for a report is three business days. The 21st of March will be a month in waiting for the report.

Representative was very nice and explained all steps. Even with the Angie's List coupon, they cost way too much. I was in a bind and needed the work done. 3 hours of work, cost was too much per hour. They used the job spec out prices for all 3 items. Next time look for a plumber that has a $ per hour cost!

It was good. I noticed that one of the drains they installed in the bathtub is not closing properly. The plumber that came out was good and a nice young man. They got the job done in about 6 hours. The scheduling was very quick and they got in contact with me to get something set up the same week.

Ultimately, they didn't do anything for me. He came out and gave me a quote that was twice what it is at Lowes. All I needed was a flapper, so I actually repaired it myself. However, they were punctual, professional, and respectful.

It was uneventful with the repair unassociated with the coupon.

Plumber was on time and overpriced.

I am not pleased with this company; I called to see about an appointment because I thought there was a leak. He came out to quote pricing and I needed the shower head, faucet replaced in my tub. He stated that it was no valve there and that it would be $659 to install it with a valve. To replace the washer on my faucet in my master bath he quoted me $299 and 104 for the part. I know it doesn’t cost that much, I feel like the pricing was terribly inflated. I did not like the way they operated, I did not feel comfortable with the feeling that I got, from my perspective they were not totally honorable.

It was a full day job, with extra men showing up to help wrap up the job. The faucet was replaced. The garbage disposal replaced. All new pipes under the sink were installed. A sewage leak was found, bricks broken out of wall and the bare hole insulated since freezing weather was due. I will call the brick layer to repair the hole. I have not called the brick layer. All in all, I think the work was excellent. I think their price is higher than others. Their work is good, clean, and they are meticulous with their work. We thought, just two leaks and then replaced the pipes and the workings of the drain and sink. If they were not on Angie's list I would not have repaired everything. Since they were, I knew they were responsible and did not ask for a second bid. The young plumber seemed to know what he was doing and explained ethics of their company. The cost was costly. Overall very pleased.

I liked their competency. They were very punctual.

They came for an initial evaluation to determine the scope of work to be performed. They said they needed additional equipment and diggers to do the work. I agreed and scheduled the next appointment with the field personnel. No one came for the appointment and when I called they had no record of the appointment. I rescheduled with customer service and they made it this time. They spent the entire time of the big deal walking around trying to locate the main water supply, 2 hours! He didn't bring the diggers like he said he would although he did bring his equipment to snake the clean out. In the end he wasn't able to accomplish anything and did not offer any other way to have the water supply located and the filtration system installed. All that time and money for nothing. I would not recommend or use them in the future. Prompt doesn't really matter if they can't do the job.

They arrived on time, checked the old disposer, and showed me how the corrosion had built up and was rusting through. I okayed installing a new one and they did so. They cleaned up and left no mess and were done very quickly. They were polite, friendly and very professional.

They were able to put in a new toilet at that time and carted the old one away. I am pleased with the new toilet. The second toilet on the purchased check up was done and it passed with flying colors.....after the tune-up.... I just thought the toilet was a little high at $949 but I did want a higher stool .

My experience was good. I paid more than the Big Deal amount for additional work. They were courteous, nice, and came out when they said they were coming out.

Priority Scheduling. All repairs have a Full 2 year parts and labor warranty. Adjustment to valve tube made under warranty on Jan. 15, 2014.

Firstly, I had trouble with scheduling. The phone connection was wonky and I had to call 3 times before I actually got someone. Then she said their computer system was down and she would call me back later. She did and we scheduled (though I had to repeat my Angie's List deal and what it consisted of several times - you'd think they'd have that programmed into their system by now). Benjamin Franklin Plumbing is "The Punctual Plumber" and their motto is "If there's any delay, it's you we pay!" It's on their trucks, it's the first thing they say when they answer the phone, it's everywhere. So I thought, yay, for once this service provider won't be late. Wrong. He was over half an hour late. Which I realize isn't the end of the world, but still, I was expecting better. Anyway, when the technician arrived, again I had to read through the Angie's List deal because he didn't seem to know what it entailed. Then he did some work on the toilet and came back to me saying he needed some parts and here was the cost. This is when I brought up the fact that he was late (he hadn't mentioned it at all when he arrived) and he looked kind of sheepish and said "oh yeah, 31 minutes." He calculated it out and since they pay $5 per minute late, the company owed me $155 for being late. This was more than the cost of the parts he needed to purchase, so I said ok and he left to go purchase parts. This annoyed me a little, because when I made the appointment on the phone, the girl explained that each of the technicians' trucks is like a "rolling warehouse" with hundreds of parts so they will *almost* always have what is needed to make the repair. Well, I needed a new flapper and fill valve and he didn't have them. Kind of basic parts when fixing a toilet, I think. So, he came back a bit later and made the final repairs, gave me my receipt and assured me that my $51 dollar refund check (after cost of parts) would be on it's way within the next week or two. That didn't happen and I had to call the company twice before I finally got my check. When I talked to them on the phone, it was like they couldn't find my record and I had to tell them the amount that was supposed to go on the check. It finally arrived well over a month after the service call. So... I was basically paid to have my toilet repaired. That never happens and I feel like I really shouldn't be complaining, but the whole ordeal was such a hassle that I will probably never use them again.

It worked out alright however it was a lot more than we had intended on paying. We had to purchase a new toilet and had them install it. It was way more than we expected to pay. When they got here, they said that the toilet was the wrong size for the hole that we had. We had a toilet that was there and we bought another one and we wanted it to be replaced but it could not be done since the hole cannot fit the toilet that we bought for. What they did was they found the correct size that we needed and the same brand of toilet that we wanted so they took our old toilet and they bought the one size that we needed and install it for $1600.
