They two guys that came out were very nice, but with every thing they had to do they had to call home office to see how much more they had to charge me. This deal was nothing but a bait and switch.

Very prompt and professional: I purchased services on Monday night through Angie's List, they called first thing Tuesday morning and came on Tuesday. Work was well done and everything is functioning well. But, very expensive! The overall cost was a couple hundred dollars more than I have paid my usual independent plumber for similar work, and even with the Angie's Deal I purchased I still paid more than I would have. Plus, they tried to sell some additional services (pouring chemicals down the shower drain) to further raise the price. I'll stick with my usual plumber for future work.

It didn't go well. I needed a back flow on the outside facet to be replaced. I called the plumber and they came out the following week, and they were not able to do the work because my tenant was not there.

My experience was not so good. I purchased the big deal thinking it would be a 100$ fix. When the guy came out, he said that it was going be probably over 3000$. I said to him that this is a little leak. He showed me a price list and said this is where the pricing starts even if I do not have to dig and the leak is from the main line. I got it fixed for 250$ through somebody else. So I did not get to use my coupon and further more I showed him a broken sprinkler. I unscrewed a hose from the hose bib and it broke off. I thought I broke the valve off. So he said in exchange for the coupon he would replace that valve. The other guy who fixed up for 250$ simply unscrewed at the end of the hose that had broken off. So I did not get any work done. He was happy to just get rid me off. It was a total failure and I would not call him again.

Jeremy did a great job explaining the issue with our leaky shower faucet. He ordered the right parts for us and was able to quickly replace the worn ones.

Provider was very friendly and professional. He did very good work and gave a five year warranty, longer than the manufacturer's 2 year.

They came out and I told them I had a leak under my toilet. They couldn't find the leak. They charged me $300 for a "leak search". It took a number of calls and attempts to contact them after the visit, but I eventually I got in touch with the manager of the plumbing division and he agreed he could give me the $300 back, but I haven't received the check yet and it has been at least 3 weeks.

This was prepaid Angies List special and so was particularly impressed that Benjamin Franklin contacted me based on the notes I put on request through Angies List. They were actually able to fit me in the same day on a schedule that worked for ME!

It turned out pretty good, but, instead of the $89 for $200 worth of work, everything comes out more than $200. I have used them twice. They do good work and they are prompt but their price even with the Big Deals is a little high.The first time, they came out to replace a part in the commode and somehow, something broke and then they had to replace the whole thing. Then the second time, they had to rebuild a part in the back of the commode and that, instead of being a $200 job, ended up being $320. I am not going to do any Deals with them. They are prompt and their work is satisfactory.

We do not agree with the price that they estimated our work to be. They were very professional over the phone.

The good: I debated for a minute between a B and a C rating for this company. They showed up on time. In fact they called and told me they had someone free in the area even earlier than the appointment which was very nice. Very friendly, professional, and intelligent gentleman showed up to do the work. Work completed in quick manner. Again, the gentleman was a great guy who gave me some helpful pointers while he did his work just as you would expect from a pro. He determined the clog was sludge buildup and "gave" me a bottle of bio-clean. The bad: I stated above that the "Approximate cost of service" was 180.00. This is slightly misleading. This cost is how much I was actually out of pocket. I purchased a $200 worth of services for $89.00 coupon from Angie's list. I let them know I had the coupon when I called to schedule appointment. When they showed up the cost I was quoted was $289. After using the coupon I owed them $89. Hmm? Ok so I paid approximately $180.00 for the snaking and the camera and the bio-clean (which was actually "a part of the service") In checking around I found that it cost between $150-210 for this service from most providers. Including the camera. So? In my opinion it appears the price of $289 is the inflated price given to those that purchase these coupons. I didn't get ripped off. I just paid a premium for the fast service (which I didn't need necessarily) and purchased as "part of the service" a bottle of extremely expensive bio-clean. In closing. I would get a bid from them for the job before agreeing or buying a coupon for service. Then check around a little. I didn't have a complicated job. I knew what I was going to have them do. They didn't climb on the roof (would have been extra) just used the cleanout on the side of the house. After looking at the other deals I really thought I was going to come out ahead on the game. Turns out I was wrong. Any plumber with the tools could have done this job. Charging what I feel is $100+ is too much to pay for name recognition. Beware of their coupons folks.

It was fine. They're really good and they did a good job. They got the repairs done and went out. It was a little more expensive than I thought but it was all done in good shape. They were here a couple of hours. I had them come out almost immediately after I bought them.

I would not recommend going with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. We hired them to replace our mainline because they'd done some other minor plumbing work for us in the past that we were pleased with and they gave us a reasonable quote for the job. The work Benjamin Franklin did was fine, good even, but what was really disappointing was the lack of communication and helpfulness on the part of the support staff at Benjamin Franklin. The plumbers had subcontracted the digging work out and there was very poor communication between Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and the subcontractor who dug the ditch so the mainline could be replaced. The subcontractors arrived an hour before the plumber from Benjamin Franklin showed up and he didn't even have the contact information for the plumber so he started the work without the plumber there to confirm where the mainline actually was. Also, when the subcontractor came back to fill in the ditch, he left all of the old rusted pipes on our lawn. When I called Benjamin Franklin about whether anyone was going to pick up our pipes, they said the subcontractor was supposed to. Although, the plumber did come out the next day to get them. This was a three day job, they arrived on time the first day, but on the second day the plumber told me he had a "small job" the next morning and would be over around ten or eleven. I waited around all morning until one in the afternoon and called to ask when the plumber would arrive and if I could at least have a rough estimate of his arrival time as I had things I needed to do that day. The secretary couldn't even give me an estimate or window of time when the plumber would arrive. I think this was because their slogan is that they'll pay you a certain amount if your plumber doesn't arrive on time and they didn't want to give me a time estimate to avoid having to credit our account. Also, once the main line was replaced Benjamin Franklin's part was done and then an inspector from the city had to approve the new line and put in an order for the city to come out to connect our line back to the city's. We have now waited over five days for our line to be reconnected, meanwhile there is a pool of sewage in the ditch where our line needs to be reconnected. I understand that this is the city's job to come reconnect the line, but the inspector did not leave us his contact information because the Benjamin Franklin plumber took the paperwork from the inspector with the contact information on it. When I called Benjamin Franklin to get the city's contact information or the number that the inspector had left their plumber, they told me that there was nothing they could do and they didn't have any contact information, even though the inspector and given that information to their plumber and their plumber was the one who contact the inspector in the first place to coordinate the inspection and re-connection of the line.

The team was very professional and did a great job. What was missing though was I was told there were permits needed due to having to run gas lines, etc and this was in the cost. I was told that I would get a call in a few weeks to arrange a time for the city to come inspect. That never happened.

Plumber arrived well within the service window. He cleared a line in the back of our home, which is the only part of the house that did not have cast iron sewer pipes replaced with PVC a few years ago. Advised me of that and provided a verbal estimate of what it would cost if we decided to replace with PVC in the future. He described the process in detail but was not doing a high pressure sales job. He was knowledgeable and enjoyable to talk with. The stoppage was eliminated.

I'm perfectly satisfied with every aspect of their service except for the exorbitant pricing. I had a leak so I had to act quickly and didn't get to shop around as much as I would have liked, but I've spoken with several people that had work done for a fraction of the cost. The rep that worked at my house was professional, and the work was top notch. But the pricing is obscene.

It was fine. They did what I needed them to do. The price was good.

Very good service. Plumber had to make a second trip since we had to order additional parts from the manufacturer. The faucets had a life-time warranty and we could get the parts free. We had ordered the parts another plumbing company said to order but there still some parts missing; thus, the second order.

When I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbers last night my first call was to the wrong location. They were very nice and gave me the correct location number. When I called the correct number the person that answered was awesome. She asked the right questions and provided great information. I called after 10 pm on a Saturday night and she said they could send someone out that night but there would be an additional fee, or they could come Sunday morning at no additional cost. I asked that they come on Sunday. I told her that I had purchased my service through Angie's list and she said the coupon I purchased would totally cover the clean out and their technician would explain what he was going to do and any recommendations that he might have. As she explained, I got a call around 7:45 telling me the name of my technician and that he was on the way. When he arrived he went straight to work and my issue was resolved very quickly. The technician suggested a possible future course of action but there was no pressure to spend one penny more than the price I spent on Angie's List. I would recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbers anytime to anyone.

There was not a ground cleanout so the plumber opted to clean out through a vent and just guess which one to use - never climbed in crawls pace, just guessed a lot. Then he quoted me $4k to bust up concrete and install a ground clean out... Called the city, they sent guys out yesterday that located the lines, then another crew to dig a hole. When those 2 guys hit solid rock, they sent another crew with a backhoe to dig it up and installed a ground clean out - FOR FREE! W**, Ben Franklin plumbing?! The one thing I will give them is they cut the price for being unsuccessful.

I guess everything went well and I'm satisfied with the cost.

Severity of issue was over exaggerated with price quote. 4 hour job turned in actually to only 90 minutes.

They were excellent. He did a good job, clean and tidy.

I wasted my money and I'm furious!! My water pressure was so low that the toilet didn't flush waste. Chris, at Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, said that the PSI at the street was 60 PSI and that it was turned all the way up at the box in my garage. He also said that the only thing I could do with my toilet, was replace it. For good measure, he added that I need to leave the water faucet drip when it freezes because my water heater is on the outside of the house. Finally, a builder warranty plumber came today. He said the PSI he read was 49 or 50. He turned the PSI up at the valve in the garage to 75 PSI (it wasn't at the highest, after all). Boy what a difference! He also showed me how to get my toilet to flush better in addition to the increased water pressure and said that the $1,135 quoted by Chris for a new toilet was outrageous!! Additionally, my hot water heater is tankless and it has it's own heater. The only way it could freeze is if the power went off for a couple of days in a snow storm. Boy was he dumb for a plumber. I think I deserve my money back. He was worthless!

It was okay. We discussed the problem but I didn’t go any further with work yet.
