Description of Work: Nice plumber, however while deal stated that frost proof faucet would be an extra charge, it didn't imply that any home built in the last 25 years wouldn't benefit from this deal AND that the extra charge would be 4x the big deal price. Did a visual inspection but did not complete job intended.

Description of Work: Wanted to fix my kitchen faucet. The Benjamin Franklin plumber, after looking at the faucet, figured out the sink needed to be bracketed and the handle was rusted out and he could not tighten it. He said I would have to buy a new one. He gave me a quote for $229.00 to do the sink and change the faucet. (That was great since I had a $200 coupon with Angie). He planned to come the next day and install it after I purchased a new one which I did. All was ready to go the next day. I was fine as to how things were going. In attempting to turn off the water under the sink the next day he discovered the (3) turn offs were not working so he planned to turn off the water to the whole house. Since he had broken his key the day before he needed to call a senior plumber with a key to come by. When the other plumber came with his key to open the water meter, he took a look at the whole thing and said the place where they buy brackets for the sink was closed today and that they would not do the work until the (3) turn offs were fixed. I asked how much was that? $198.00 per turn off. Making the job, instead of a little over $200 to close to $800. I asked if I could just have the faucets installed today without the cut-offs because I wasn't planning on spending that much. He said they would have to fix the cut-offs first. Something smelled fishy to me. The senior plumber left saying I would be scheduled on Monday. I said no I wanted to think about it. The younger plumber, I could see felt badly because he was trying to help me out. But they left with me telling them I would call them if I wanted the work done and I planned to get other bids. Which I did and got the whole job done by Tuesday for less than 1/2 of their bid. Looks and works great. I understand things can snowball, but I saw no reason why they couldn't have installed the faucets first and do the cut-offs later. There was no give and I felt they wanted to add to their job to make it worthwhile since it was an Angie's list coupon. Just my feeling about it.

Description of Work: We encountered a slab leak that they were unable to locate exactly resulting in two hole jack hammered holes in my foundation. My insurance company needed information from them and they were unwilling to deal with them and discuss Details of work. Before my insureance company would pay the repair they needed info but everytime either of us called we kept getting told they will not discuss it with insurance companies. My insurance adjuster said this is the only plumbing company that will never cooperate. Unfortunately I chose Benjamine Franklin based on what I thought was a good reputation. What I later found out later was they seriously over charged me and my insurance company said they are the worst plumbing company to deal with. They one reputation they do have is over charging for so so work. Once repair was completed they filled hole with concrete and did a horrible job smoothing it out. Now when the new floors are laid down I will have to spend more money to have this area leveled out. I would never use them again or recommend them

Description of Work: I had a very slow kitchen sink and they were able to clear that, they even put the camera in to see what was wrong, they inspected my faucets, they also adjusted my toilet seat.

Description of Work: I had an issue with my pilot/gas knob on my water heater. I had just had the water heater drained and was trying to make sure the gas was all the way off. I could smell gas. I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and they were very friendly. Masis was extremely professional, courteous and very helpful. You could easily tell that he took pride in himself and in this company. It was very evident with his wonderful customer service, that you so seldom see today. He turned the gas off for me and relayed some needed code updates that I would be needing. I had already scheduled my water heater to be replaced the next day by another company but had I not had them scheduled, I would have definitely used this company and requested Masis.
