Description of Work: Did a toilet check up for 3 of my bathrooms. Gave me an assessment of what I needed and gave me an estimate for repair and replacement for each. Gave me the information I needed to order my own parts and repair on my own. Their price was much higher, but having the knowledge transfer gave me what I needed to solve on my own at a fraction of their repair cost. Angies list coupon plus the knowledge xfer was worth the cost. Their recommended repair/replacement was much higher, hence the C on price.

Description of Work: I purchased a plumbing service from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for $79.00. They came out and unclogged a master bathroom tub. Two weeks later, I encountered a major problem involving a leak on my main line from the house to the water line. I called them. The cost was $3,800. I was quoted over $4,000 during the project; however, they said they would honor the first quote. The technician advised he had just returned to work after disability. He said he lost his health benefits from this company and quoted me much cheaper to repair. I stayed with the original quote and a week later, found out my sprinkler system did not work. I called this company again, and learned the former technician failed to turn on the sprinkler system. I believe for $3,775.00, everything should have been tested and it was not. To have to call a week later is inexcusable after spending $3,775.00 and finding out this job could have been done must cheaper by more reputable companies.

Description of Work: purchased $89 plumbing deal. the tech came and quoted $780 just to change a stainless kitchen sink and faucet!!! I had this type of jobs done many times before and never got an estimate this high. I hired another contractor had it done for $250 and it works great.

Description of Work: He came in. He wasn't necessarily friendly but that's fine. I took him to the back yard. He looked at the faucet. Said it had a drip. Unscrewed the T hose. Turned it on then off. For a total of two minutes. Then stood up and said, that'll be $225.00 to repair and pushed a clipboard at me to sign. I was offended and shocked. I stood staring at him. Waiting for a professional opinion or some advice. But there's was none. No discussion at all. No explanation why I wasn't getting the deal I purchased through Angie's list. I then replied in the awkward silence, "no, I won't be doing that". He then pulled his clipboard back and then asked if I needed anymore quotes. I said he could look at the handle in the master bath which only needed tightening. He was nice enough to do if for me. Then he left. I went back outside to relook at the faucet only to find he didn't even screw the Water hose back into the faucet. I was hoping for a professional who would get me to a solution. Sadly, I was disappointed.

Description of Work: Nice plumber, however while deal stated that frost proof faucet would be an extra charge, it didn't imply that any home built in the last 25 years wouldn't benefit from this deal AND that the extra charge would be 4x the big deal price. Did a visual inspection but did not complete job intended.
