The initial price estimate for the job seemed too high, but when I asked the tech if there were any coupons available he told me about the one on Angie's List for $200 off a service for only $89. I was not then a member, but joined because it was such a good deal! After my membership fee and paying for the coupon, I still saved $65. The cut off valve from the wall to the toilet had deteriorated badly and proved to be a challenge freeing up (which is why we opted to call a professional plumber!). Ben Franklin did a very neat job replacing it and rebuilding the tank with quality parts. The tech also switched out the seat with a new one I had purchased for no charge! I was very happy how he was able to resolve what would have been a messy situation for us with no seeming problem.

I am extremely frustrated with the cost of the service that was provided. In all, this was a very straightforward fix of a leaking 1/2 inch copper pipe, and the plumber was here for an hour and a half. I was charged $1,150, which is obscene. I can only assume the work was done correctly, since the hole was filled in before I had an opportunity to look at the work. On the plus side, the plumber was creative enough to conger up a recommendation for another $5k worth of work they would be thrilled to do for me. Unfortunately I'll be taking my business elsewhere in the future. I would not recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbing to anyone, and will personally never use them again.

It was fine. They were on time and did what was asked.

I purchased their $200 for $89 repair deal last September 2014 in hopes to repair an intermittent plumbing issue. I didn't want to schedule until I knew the issue was occurring as not to waste their and my time. In May the problem reoccurred and I thought NOW is the time for them to come out. I realized then that the deal had expired in February. They are still offering the same special $200 for $89 deal, it seems like permanent deal they offer, so I called hoping they would honor the deal since it's still being sold. I was told they would NOT honor the deal. That they don't honor expired deals. I know I made an error, understandable since the issue comes and goes, but I was hoping for some logical leniency. I brought up to them that my deal is the same offer they are still selling; a manager was consulted and they reiterated that they would NOT honor the deal. So now I have an $89 dollar credit for a service I'll never use since I believe they do not understand the concept of good customer service. Enjoy my $89 Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Garland.

Josh came in time, was professional and he did what he was supposed to do.

We had a drain pipe and a valve break and it was leaking out on to the wood floor in the kitchen. It was excellent. They got to the issue right away and got it going. They found that we had another pipe broken in the ground which we didn't even know about. They got it all fixed. They left everything clean. In this case, because it was going to Home Owners and Home Owners wants to see the debris sometimes, they put everything in a plastic bag for me to show how they had to cut the drywall and all that. We use them all the time. They're pretty good. They quote a price and that's it. It doesn't go up or down from there usually.

Outstanding. plumber was on time, very professional and friendly. Have not had a better plumbing experience. Highly recommend.

Does not service the Houston area

I wanted to use the $200 towards putting in a water filter underneath my sink. However, the total was going to end up being around $600!! I had been quoted $250 from another company. Since I had already paid the $89 for $200 worth of plumbing, I had the company put on a new shower head in 2 bathrooms. They charged me $115 per shower head and it took the guy about 2 minutes to put each one on!! Total rip off!!!

I feel the price was raised to offset the coupon. I was charged full flat rate even though toilet was already removed, area cleaned and I was asking that toilet not be reset.

The service went better than I could ever expect. I had attempted to light the pilot light several times and it wouldn't stay lit so I called and scheduled a service. I was lucky and they showed up within 20 minutes of my call because they had a stand by plumber ready to go and because the office was within 1 mile of my home. The service tech asked if I pressed the reset button before lighting the pilot light and I had told him that I did not know that there was a reset button. He showed me the location, I reset the button and was able to light the pilot light and the water heater started working. I couldn't be happier and would use them in the future. Don't forget to use the Angie's list coupon.

Work completed was satisfactory. We opted not to have the igniter switch installed due to the cost.

So I did not use them for the gas line cap. And did not use them to replace the faucet. I was disappointed with Angie's List description vs what little work the plumber was willing to do.

I was very pleased with everything that Benjamin Franklin worked on for me. The plumber was very professional, punctual and was very knowledgeable. He was also very helpful checking on some other plumbing that I will need in the future. Another thing that impressed me was that after the work was completed, I got a call from Benjamin Franklin's office to see if I was satisfied.

He was fast, polite and professional. Toilet works great!

It was a clogged toilet that backed up into the tub. They came out quickly and cleared it out. Even with the Angie's deal it cost about $350 with tax. So it was definitely on the steep side but that also goes with the territory of emergency service. Otherwise they came out earlier than the appointment and fixed it quick. Just painful for cost.

He was friendly, professional, & informative. He gave me a fair estimate on my different options. Since I don't have the funds right now I just opted for the most economical option of patching up the leak. It won't last long so I will call them again to fix it more permanently in the future.

Called provider, spoke with an imitation Valley Girl., who finally shifted to normal speech. This provider refused to honor the coupon after hours or on weekends. I have demanded a refund.

It supposes to help identify the leaking in house or under slab outside, but plumber insist to fix the out door leaking faucet, which doesn't really helpful at all. After charging $252 plus my Angies's list purchased $200 value to fix the leaking faucet, he is asking for rebuilding the outdoor shutoff valve for another $1400 before he could start to detect, which doesn't address my water leaking issue directly. That was the worst plumber I have been dealing with. Ironically, when I first call to schedule the service, they're immediately asking my credit card to cover their cost. Basically, it tells me $89 for $200 value I purchased on Angies' list is just bait for get you in.
