Our water heater started leaking late on a Friday night. I called several places but only Benjamin Franklin was able to send someone out right away if we needed. The plumber on call was Jeff Baer, and he provided excellent customer service. Prior to us scheduling the service, Jeff walked us through how to turn off and drain our water heater to prevent it from bursting. We talked to him several times between 9:30-10:30 pm because our cold water supply valve was not shutting off water to the unit. He even tried to talk us through shutting off our main water supply. At that point, we asked him to come out, and he was able to pick up a water heater from their shop and install it that same night. He even came the next day after we got off work to install an additional part that he did not have on hand the night before. Although Benjamin Franklin is not the cheapest service you will find (especially when you have to pay afterhours rates), they provide quality work. I was concerned about the sinks in both bathrooms; I thought that both were "stopped up". The first sink was obviously completely plugged; he then evaluated the second sink, pronounced it in good working order (being only slow-running because of the type of stopper therein), and then went to his truck to get the necessary tools. He then proceeded to remove the bathroom sink trap, clean that, and then "Roter Rooter" the pipes leading toward the main sewer line. He retrieved the plug (of matted hair, as expected), inspected his work, put everything back together, again inspected his work to make sure that there was no leak, and then cleaned up after himself. I was slightly disappointed that he did not clean the sink, where there was much dried debris from my attempted cleaning using Drain-O, but as it was a very stubborn job, and I assume that he did not have a steel wool pad with him (e.g. a Brill-O pad), I can overlook this minor detail. He then presented me with the bill, which he had estimated before the job, and the price was exactly as estimated, He even did not charge me for the service call, which is, as I understand Is usually added to the bill. He also did not charge a sales tax (which is normal, as this is considered a service, and thus not taxable). Overall, he was very polite, competent, and efficient. I thought the charge was very reasonable. The whole experience took less than 25 minutes.

I was advised by Benjamin Franklin Plumbing rep that I would need to make an appointment for a plumber to evaluate the job and at that time I would be provided a written estimate. I made the appointment. The service call cost was $59.00. This cost did NOT go towards the cost of the repairs. The total estimate to replace the facet, was $170.00 + $59.00. It's worth mentioning that I still needed to hire a mason to repair the three bricks that were removed.

Tried to fix this myself Thursday night and it did not work. Contacted plumber that night to get on the list for next-day repair. Plumber was on-site at 10:00 am and did a very professional job. Answered all my questions and told me what I had done wrong in the self-repair. Very friendly and courteous service all around. Being a DIY type person, I hated to pay the price for the repair, but now I will not be worried about my repair flooding the house, either. Use the Angie's List coupon to save the $59 dollar trip fee.
