Benjamin Franklin Plumbing

Called the week before and was able to get an appointment first thing in the morning (between 8-10) on a day I was going to be working from home. I was called about 7:45 from the office and told the plumber would be leaving the office at 8:00 to head out to my place. He was here about 8:30. Corey was very courteous and evaluated the job and provided me with an estimate. I told him to go ahead and get started. He was done in a bit over an hour. Everything appears to be done well and I like the fact there is a 2 year warranty. I know we all would like to always pay less for this type of thing but to me having someone show up on time and get the job done correctly is worth it. I've had some bad plumbing experiences in the past, like plumbers showing up at 8:30 PM to replace a water heater they were supposed to be here at noon to replace. So, to me, having a reliable company be here on time with someone who knows what they are doing was well worth paying a few extra bucks.

I chose to replace the entire line since this is the second leak from the meter in 5 years. The job could not be done that night, but a crew was out early the next day digging the trench. Good job, done in 4 hours. The plumber came back out and laid the new 1" line. The first connection was to the meter, this took some time because he had to feed the line under the sidewalk and reuse a fitting to the meter. Next he made the connections at the house which was a little more complicated, but had no trouble. The supervisor came out to help. It might have gone alot quicker if the plumber had a helper. They put pea gravel under the new valves to keep the box from filling up with mud. I pointed out that when they dug the trench they had cut one of the wires to my sprinkler valves. They said it would be fixed when they came out to fill it in. The next day the trench was filled in, but the wire was not reconnected. They were called out the next day, dug up the spot where I knew the wire had been cut, they did not have the right materials to fix the wires. I had some grease caps and extra wire to make the repair (I did it) and they filled in the hole. In all, we were with out water for 36 hours and very happy with our new water line.

He was so professional and courteous. No one wants to work on Father's Day, but Chris had a smile on his face and maintained his professionalism the entire time. Luckily I was able to find the number to Benjamin Franklin really quick and give them a call. They sent Cory out to my house a few hours later. It was determined that 3 seals on the hot water heater busted and the whole thing needed to be replaced. Luckily they had a fully stocked truck and had one on hand. Cory and another gentleman were at my house until 10pm fixing my hot water heater. Absolutely awesome...Thanks to Benjamin Franklin for responding so quickly to fix the problem.

I think this company has a pricing issue. In the case of my sink, they had to touch the garbage disposal, so it added $315.00, they had to touch the pvc piping $269.00, they had hook up charges at $169.00, & $89.00 charge for showing up. I had to pay $0.00 because I rejected the quote as being insanely high. I expected the charge for the whole thing to be $150 to 250 at the highest. FYI had the job done by another handyman, he charged $75.00 in parts & $75.00 in labor, the whole job took 1 hour. This is why I rated their pricing at an F, it was so overpriced.

He was polite, professional and on time. He was very clean and neat in appearance and clean up.
