It was fine. They were expensive but they do very good work. They were on time. They did what they said they were going to do. They used good materials. They were polite, clean, well behaved and did it quickly. It was worth it.

It "repair" went well. I do, however, have mixed feelings about some aspects of the company. I knew something was caught in my garbage disposal, but after several attempts, I still could not dislodge/remove the item. So, I bought the Angie's Big Deal coupon ($89 for $200 worth of work) early on Thursday morning and called the company as soon as I completed the purchase. (I was hoping to schedule by phone to get a quicker visit.) The person on the phone (Laurie) said they could have someone out between 1p and 3p that day. So, I scheduled it. There are several really good things about this company: The person on the phone (Laurie) was really nice and professional, very courteous and got me scheduled for the same day (between 1p and 3p). She even called me later in the morning to say that Carlos would be arriving at about 1:45p. And, it was really great that they could send someone out on the same day I'd called. I wouldn't have expected that during the holiday season and without an emergency visit charge. The repairman who came out (Carlos) arrived promptly at 1:40pm. He was also really nice and professional, and very courteous. All-in-all, a really good experience. There are only a couple of reasons I would think twice before calling them again. One is their pricing structure/method, and the other is upselling. When Carlos had removed the plastic "stick" from the disposal, he tested it and said everything seemed fine. I agreed. But, then he went on to say that the only other thing he could do was replace the disposal (for about $600). I was a bit surprised and I even asked why I would want to do that, since it wasn't broken. (My disposal was installed in 2010 and is a good quality one. I've had no problems with it.) He didn't seem to have a solid reason for suggesting a very expensive replacement. So, I asked him (just out of curiosity and for future reference) how much it would have cost if I hadn't had the Angie's Deal. (You never know when you'll have a real emergency and no Angie's Big Deal to rely on!) He said that it would have been $129 plus the service call fee of $59. I asked if the $59 would be applied to the cost of repairs in that case and he said it would not. I (luckily) have not had any plumbing emergencies in the last few years, so I may well be out-of-touch regarding the standard prices. But, that sounded high to me. I knew my "repair" would cost at least $89 (the cost of the Big Deal). That was a given and okay. But, had I not had the Big Deal, and been told that the removal of the plastic stick (a 5-minute job) was going to cost me $188, I would have definitely considered that to be excessive. So, the job went fine. I'm happy with the service. I just can't say that I would certainly use the provider again, knowing more about the pricing structure and the high risk of someone trying to upsell me something that clearly was not even remotely needed. Thus, my mixed feelings.

He was prompt and did a good job. I would use him again.

James was the plumber. I had a clogged toilet and a leaking toilet. James was able to unclog the toilet, fix the flapper and show me that my other toilets were in need of a new flapper too. He was very polite, professional, courteous, helpful and informative of my plumbing problems. I was very pleased with James and I would definitely use Benjamin Franklin Plumbing again. Thank you James! You were WONDERFUL!

It was wonderful! He did what I needed him to get done. I had two things I needed to get done and after one was finished, he said the deal was used up. He was going to charge and extra $104 for the second service, so I declined. But overall it was alright and the gentleman was friendly and did great work.

I had them come out for a second time for a leak in my kitchen sink. They got the job done right this time and everything went fine.

We had purchased the $89 coupon which covered $200 worth of work. Then, after an hour and 15 minutes, we were charged an ADDITIONAL $397.00! We would NEVER use this company again but for the fact that the toilet he "fixed" is not working again! So he, or someone, is coming again tomorrow morning. We'd better not be charged anything.

They guy said he didn't know how to fix this particular brand and had to call tech support and talk to them. I was okay with that until the price quote was $500. I feel like they just come up with the quote and they have this sheet of paper with five levels of pricing. There was nothing in there that said my particular problem so they decided to charge me the most expensive price. I spoke with the supervisor and it was condescending. He asked me irrelevant questions. It was a complete waste of my time.

Very competent, very professional. Had to tunnel under my house and replace several feet of pipe that had multiple breaks. Also helped with clogged shower drain.

Called for an emergency plumbing problem. Did not have anyone available for 72 hours.

The price was much higher than I expected, so I found another company that could do the work for a smaller fee.

Our hot water heater had sprung a leak. We thought it might be an easy fix so we ordered the $100 for $200 special. Turned out the whole tank needed to be replaced. They came by on a Thursday to inspect it. Gave us their estimated price. We shopped around and found that even though they weren't the cheapest, they did have the best reputation. So we went for quality over quantity. Turned out to be a great deal. Our new water heater works wonderful and the guy who showed up to install it came on a Sunday morning! I was shocked. I really thought we were going to have to wait until after the weekend. Only took about 2 hours to replace and we had hot water again. The whole price for the labor and parts was $1400, but since we had the coupon they brought it down to $1200.

The guy who came out was very nice and they were good.

I was very pleased and impressed with Ryan and the professional way he went about the repair. I had been using another plumber but decided to give Benjamin Franklin a try because of the special deal coupon on Angie's list. Next time I need a plumber, I will certainly call them.

I bought one of the special offer coupons for $29 = supposed to be $100 value or so. However, after they looked at the problem, they told me that my coupon would be applied to their standard repair plus service call prices, which meant I still paid almost $200 for this service that they did in 10 minutes! I will never use them again.

Promptly arrived and performed the service with great quality. The only issue is that they were overpriced in comparison with others but their quality, timeliness and professionalism were top notch.

The work was very good. The price was higher than I would have liked but the work was good. Even with the coupon that I purchased through Angie's List, plus they still gave me a bill on top of that. It was a total of $269 of work. That price seemed high just to change two faucets. It seemed like the coupon really didn't do any good, like I paid full price anyway. I'm going to be skeptical of the coupons in the future that if after they're here and they do the work and you end up paying that much more money anyway.

Replace an outdoor faucet. I got a promotion from Angie's list for $89.00. It is worth $200.00. The original cost of this job is $229.00. So I saved more than $100.00. At this price, it is a good deal. Otherwise it will be kind of expensive. | | |

The service was really good but you pay dearly for it.
