I was locked out of my house when the battery in my keypad died. A-1 came to my rescue. He tried to do what he could to save the lock, but in the end had to drill the whole thing. It was clearly a tough lock to open but he stuck with it and got me inside, then he installed a deadbolt so I could lock my door again. The locksmith was courteous and worked hard to get the job done.

Went perfect. Got 3 quotes. A-1's "in store" quote was the best by far. I also got a quote for their mobile service, but found that to be much higher than their in-store price. The "in store" price was very fair and reasonable. $120 for two keys cut. The keys did have the electronic chip in them as required by Chevy. We just stopped in the store when we were in the area, and were in and out quickly, with exactly what we needed. Thank you A-1! Would recommend and use again.

Overall the experience was very good. We called up and they were able to have someone at our house in about an hour. The technician who arrived was very friendly and opened the door in about two minutes. We could easily pay by credit card via their phone and they emailed a receipt.

I would recommend them. They were awesome.

My wife and I were in another state and we needed somoene to get in our house for us. My brother was around and unfortunately he did not have a key. I had Jon Bottoms out and he was able to make a key from a cell phone picture while my brother waitied. It was great!

very good better than expected, cant remember the mans name but he spoke english and understood what i was saying. very professional and pretty reasonable, i had called 3 other locksmiths in the area and the first was 1/2 and the other was 1 hour late, third one called and canceled so i was skepctial calling a1 but glad i did.

I called at 4pm, and the person who took my call said the locksmith would arrive between 4:30 and 5:30, and that he would give me a call when he was on his way. When 5:30 came and I had not seen or heard from anyone, I called again. The dispatcher said someone could come by 6. The locksmith did finally call, at 6:53, to say he was on his way and about 30 minutes away. By then, had been sitting around an empty house for 3 hours, so I cancelled the appointment and went to dinner. Because the locksmith missed the window by 2 hours and there was no proactive communication about rescheduling, I chose to use another locksmith to perform the work.

Great. This could have been a bad day. But the job was done so well and now I have a locksmith I trust!

First appointment he called and said there were two emergencies that just came in. The next appointment he sat in his van texting and did not even come to the door!

we had a broken key in a lock, it was Saturday, however the locksmith came out within 2 hours and removed the broken key, all at a very affordable cost--especially on a weekend. We will definitely use them again.

I am disappointed with A1 locksmith, primarily because of their delay in responding -- they told me 30 minutes but they took 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive. When I called to get an update regarding the status of the service and an estimated time the technician would arrive, I was put on hold for longer than 2 minutes, hung up and called again, twice. I irritated the telephone dispatcher unfortunately, who then began to give me an attitude when I just wanted to know if I needed to call another locksmith to help this poor man. Although A1 finally opened the car, 45 minutes after the estimated time of arrival, I am left disappointed in A1's performance as a whole and their ability to be truthful about estimated arrival times and updating their customers regarding same. I will likely use another locksmith next time.

Overall, very satisfactory.

The technician Keith arrived at the agreed upon time. He diagnosed the problem with the front door lock and latch and fixed the problem as requested. Keith also assisted me in ordering a replacement piece for this latch and will install that today. I am very satisfied.

Contacted them to re-key my F-150 pick-up at my house. The person taking the call was professional, quoted price on the phone and was able to schedule same day service. The Locksmith that arrived was courteous, professional and accomplished the work quickly. Price paid was as quoted.

The dealership wanted me to tow the truck to their location and then charge me $270 dollars for 2 keys (keys with the chips) for a total of $330. The other locksmiths I called were not there to talk with on Sunday. It was great to have someone to talk with about the situation and understand what needed to be done. The technician that came out was very friendly and efficient. He programmed the keys with the truck and even created a key that we could use to open the door only just in case my son locks his keys in again. I would definitely recommend this company. It was a pleasure to work with the people on the phone as well as the technician. Thank you very much for your help.

A-1 Locksmiths rekeyed these locks on July 14, 2009 at a cost of $129.12. Some keys had been lost so we decided to have the locks rekeyed again and called A-1 again. When I called I was told it would cost $12.50 or $25.00 per lock to rekey depending how worn the locks were (all at the technicians descretion). The cost is really $17.50 or $30.00 since they charge $5.00 for each key (see costs below). Since 4 of the 5 locks had not been used more than 10 times in the 22 months since they were last rekeyed I anticipated the $12.50 amount for at least 4 of the locks. A-1 was professional both in scheduling the service and in performing the services. They showed up on time and completed the work in about 20 minures or less. My complaint is only in the price they charged. Below is the break down of the costs: 7/14/09 costs 5/2/11 cost Rekey 5 locks $62.50 $125.00 keys 7.96 (4) 25.00 (5) Service/trip charge 58.00 85.00 Labor charge 0.00 50.00 tax .66 12.50 Total $129.12 $297.50 A 130% increase in 22 months. I could have bough 5 new locks for less than it cost to have them rekeyed. I did speak to a manager about the cost and was told the increase was due to inflation (material to rekey had doubled; gas prices had increased - it is 13 miles from there place of business to my house and that justifies a $27.00 increase?). I was charged for keys - how was I going to open the locks without new keys? I can get the same keys made at a box store for about $1.50 each ($1.99 in 2009). I was told their keys are more accurate. I was charged a lobor fee which I would have thought would have been included in the service/trip charge as it was in 2009. They did provide me with name of another locksmith that might charge less. A-1, in my opinion, has priced themselves out of the residential market.

They came when the said they would, the locksmith was very friendly and professional. He did a great job and I was call them again. I thing that I am curious about is I called Plano Locksmiths but A1 Locksmiths showed up. I don't know if they are both one company or if Plano Locksmiths farms out some of their requests when they get too busy. Regardless I'll call them again in the future if need be.

I had an emergency situation and they came out. My brother was driving down a busy two lane road and he saw a turtle on the road. He stopped to save the turtle and when he got out he closed the door and his truck locked out. It was running and he was stuck in a two lane road. The passers by called me and I went there and looked. I looked at A-1 and they had a 50 year business and a good reputation. When I checked their information they were showing a particular place but they were not located over there. I called them and even after 45 minutes they had not arrived. I called them back and someone over there told us that the guy who was supposed to come out was working on another job and it would take us another 25minutes to an hour. At that time we pretty much figured out that they were done. I didn't appreciate that. After 15 minutes the guy called us and told us that the person who was supposed to come wouldn't be able to make it. Basically I was not happy with them at all. I am happy at least they called back and told us that they were not going to come. I would suggest that if you are planning to call a locksmith first check which city they are in so that way you know that time they would take to arrive. I have had similar experience three or four times. The price was fine. The quality, responsibility, punctuality and professionalism were poor.
