I noticed that squirrels were eating the trim of the house and I often times noticed loud noises while in my room at night. because they had eaten their way into my attic. I called 911 Wildlife because I had used them about a year ago and they resolved all the issues with squirrels at another property. So I called again and Robert came to the rescue and he was exceptionally knowledgeable, professional, and very helpful. I would certainly recommend 911 Wildlife to family and friends. I rated them bad on the price because it was 50.00 more than it was last year, but they get the job done.

Randy showed up on time, was extremely professional, and gave me a very reasonable bid for the amount of work that I needed. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations. Each of the 24 entry points had to be sealed with metal and then painted. I was concerned the repairs would be obvious and would distract from the value of my home--but they blend so well you can't tell any work was done. I highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: For the second time in a couple years, I had squirrels in my attic. When a previous owner replaced the wood shingles with asphalt, gaps were left between the wood trim on the gables and the roof. So I literally had 2 dozen different entry points for small animals into our attic. 911-Wildlife sealed twenty-two entry points, set doors on the remaining two entry points that only let the squirrels out and not back in. They monitored those doors until it was clear that all squirrels were out of the attic, and then sealed the final two entry points.

We had something in our attic. As my family are all animal lovers, the one stipulation we had was that none of whatever was up there was to be trapped, harmed or killed. My husband recommended we call the Texas Wildlife Rehab and Education Center for advice on what company to use, as my kids spend summer camp there. As it turned out, 911Wildlife is the only company in Texas run by wildlife rehabbers, and the techniques they use ensure the well being of the animals. We also learned they are also the only company that gets referrals from the various rehab centers around the city. The technician was prompt, professional, and got right to work inspecting our house. He was incredibly knowledgeable and explained the situation. He stated that we indeed had squirrels, and gave us a reasonable estimate. The kicker was that he was not a sales guy, and could do the work right on the spot. After about a day, the noise in the attic went away. Their office called a few days later to ensure everything was quiet, and the tech came out soon after while I was at work to check up on the house. It was a great experience, I will use them agin in the future should something arise, and have recommended them to my neighbors.
Description of Work: Animals in the attic, needed a humane, safe removal expert.

Randy thoroughly checked outside the house for entry places and in both attics for evidence of squirrels. He did not see any squirrels when he was here, but told us what we needed to do to run the squirrels out of the attic since we have heard them several times. He also told us how to plug the entry hole after the squirrels left the attic. He spent a lot of time checking everything, and did not charge us a service call since we found them through Angie's List.

These people are great. I called because raccoons had moved into my chimney and they came out a few hours later. The representative went on the roof and examined the chimney. He said my actions had already caused the raccoons to leave but my grate was missing. He then had me hand up a scrap sheet of plywood and a weight and he put them on the chimney to keep the animals from returning. His advice was to have someone come and install a custom chimney cap. When I asked how much I owed he said "nothing, we don't charge the service charge ($35) if you found us on Angie's List; and, since I didn't have to remove the animals there is no removal charge." These are the people to call.
Description of Work: Representative examined chimney and determined that raccoons had left. He then placed a temporary cover on chimney.

The individual (Robert) did an excellent job with the inspection and explaining what steps we should take to prevent animals (squirrels, mice, etc.) from entering our home, our attic, or our crawl space. He spent over an hour on the inspection and was very specific about potential egress points and what he found. We were very happy and couldn't have asked for better service.
Description of Work: Received an inspection for possible animals under the crawl space and / or in the attic. Inspection included the roof and the exterior of the house.

Thank you, Jeff, and 911 Wildlife! As a first-time home-owner, I didn't know what to do about an animal that had apparently become trapped or somehow entered the garage and starting tearing up the place. Researching the Web just caused more anxiety as the majority of the info I found seemed very gloomy. I gave 911 Wildlife - Jeff was exremely good to work with. I have no doubt that he took care of what was needed, left lasting and quality work, and that I would not hesitate for a moment to contact Jeff and 911 Wildlife should anything new come up. I will always recommend Jeff and 911 Wildlife to others.
Description of Work: Actively listened to the reason for my call. Evaluated the entire house and situation. Developed and provided specific and overrall recommendations addressing all areas of concerns identified. Implemented action items, e.g., repaired foundations vents (pier and beam) and attic access points while placing temporary one-way exit points to evict any animals in the structure. Followed up on effectiveness of initial interventions and completed repair work.

...had a raccoon living in our chimney, with no idea how to humanely remove the animal. Contacted 911 wildlife, explained problem (and time frame; had guest coming to stay for two weeks). The company was very professional and helpful - first offered some tips and methods that I could use to encourage the animal to leave (and thus, no charge). Due to time frame, opted to have them do the work. On time - very professional - excellent service - great follow-up after the service. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing this type service.

Robert came to the house to check out the situation. He was very competent and professional and gave me a lot of good advice. For example, he told me that it was a bad idea to store birdseed, corn gluten meal or other fertilizers in their original packaging because it attracts rats. These were all things I had been doing. Also, he told me about putting out bowls of ammonia to discourage a rodent (once he was in) because it interferes with their sense of smell. He was very patient in looking for the rat, even though it was 100+ degrees in the garage and storeroom. As a followup, Bonnie emailed me information on how to avoid rodents and other creatures. I plan to share it with my neighborhood association. I really appreciate 911 Wildlife's response and would have no hesitation in calling on them again. It's a professional company that can be counted on to come to your rescue.
Description of Work: My problem surfaced when I had new floors installed and the garage door and the storeroom (next to the garage) were left open for several hours. A few days later, I saw a rat in the storeroom. I checked Angie's List and called 911 Wildlife.

I followed the recommendation of someone in a forum I found on the internet, in a discussion about how to get rid of raccoons in the attic. I had already bought critter ridder powder and preditor urine that did not help. I could still hear them in my attic. I was very pleased with the phone interview, the young lady who answered was very professional and helpful. Robert called when he was on his way, and came out on schedule. He went to the corner of the house I had heard the sounds, and I was completely amazed when he duplicated the sounds of the raccoons. He said he learned by watching them closley. He checked my entire property, attic inside, underhouse and outside (paused to replace a nail in a loose board on the steps!) and proceeded to give a detailed report of the findings. He took me under the house to show me the tracks and assured me of the point of entry. (it's a large pier & beam area; with standing room). Afterward, he gave me a simple solution to tell if the animals were gone, or if they returned. I have not heard any animal sounds since that day.
Description of Work: The 911WildLife representative searched my attic, and underneath the house for raccoon and possum invasions. He also checked the roof eaves for point of entry. He took a great deal of time explaining the habits of the animals and the difference the the tracks found under the house. He advised me on how to tell if the animals had moved before investing in traps and other options. I was very impressed with his knowledge of the animals and how important it was to not harm the animals. I followed his instructions, and the animals seem to have left on their own, therefore, I did not have to pay the estimated cost provided. I would definitely recommend a company that is so dedicated to the work they do.

I couldn't be more happy with 911 Wildlife. Everybody at their company was extremely nice and I truly felt like they have the best interest of the animals at heart. Their quality of work was excellent as well. Please call them first!!! Don't make my same mistake.
Description of Work: We had a family of raccoons in our chimney that needed to be removed. We also had a couple of holes (one on our deck and one on a soffett) where squirrels were getting in and out. We called a different company first and they told us that they needed to set a trap for the raccoon on the top of our chimney when it left to go get food. They also informed me that since I am pregnant, I needed to treat the inside of the chimney for ectoparasites that they raccoons might be carrying. Hopefully the baby raccoons wouldn't die in our chimney, but if they did it would be an extra charge to remove. They were then going to put a chimney cap on our chimney for a grand total of $1100. If we wanted to have the rest of the holes covered it would be an additional $5600. I decided to just remove the raccoons out of our chimney for fear that they might make their way into our house, but the price and method wasn't sitting well with me. If the raccoon was trapped on our roof in a cage in 100+ Texas heat, it would surely die in a matter of hours. I called up 911 Wildlife and spoke to Denice about my situation. She couldn't be sweeter or more helpful. Also spoke to Bonnie (owner) about the situation. They said they would have a technician come out and put an amonia-type substance down our chimney. This messes with the raccoon's ability to smell danger and she would remove her babies and take them to a new destination. This sounded much.more humane. Their technician, Robert, came out that evening and removed the trap that was set by the other company and put the solution down our chimeny. Sure enough, that evening we could hear the mother getting her babies out one by one. The next day, Robert came back out and scoped our chimney to make sure everyone was out of there. He then put a new cap on our chimney to make sure this wouldn't happen again. All of this was done for the grand total of $250. We were so pleased with 911 Wildlife that we decided to have them patch up our other holes. They placed one-way doors on our holes to make sure all of the squirrels were out before putting on patches. A few days later they patched up the holes. They also replaced the screens on our dormers to make sure birds were nesting there. Also, our screens were very weak so animals had a chance to tear through. This additional work was done for $725.

I was very pleased. After making the appoint, the office e-mailed me advanced materials about squirrels and other wildlife problems. They were very accomodating of my schedule and were actually able to arrive early. Robert, the service person, was informative, thorough and humane. After determining that there were no babies, he installed an "exit only" door where the squireels had been coming into the attic to allow them to leave. Then he will return to replace the door in a few weeks with a permanent closure.

I called 911 Wildlife on April 28 about raccoons in my attic. They were not able to give me a free estimate until May 3 because one of their service reps was sick. Jeff came as scheduled and, after walking around the house, explained how they would handle the problem. He also pointed out squirrel damage to my roof (they had eaten a hole through the shingles) and holes around the gas line and in the crawl space screen that rats could use to get into the crawl space. He also suggested ways that I could try to get rid of the raccoons. Ultimately I decided to try and get rid of the raccoons myself. Using Jeff's suggestions, I was able to get the raccoons to leave and then boarded up the entry hole. I found Jeff and 911 Wildlife to be very thorough and helpful. If the raccoons had not left, I certainly would have used 911 Wildlife to get rid of them.

We would definitely call 911Wildlife again without hesitation. We did not have the worry of an animal trap left in the attic or a possible dead animal in the attic due to poisoning by a pest exterminator. We have not heard the sound of an animal in the attic since Gary Lawrence made his first visit! Thank you Gary and 911Wildlife!
Description of Work: Gary Lawrence with 911Wildlife came at least 3 times to be sure the problem was taken care of properly. He installed a one-way exit so that the animal in the attic could leave, but not return. After a week or so, he returned to remove the one-way exit door and to seal the opening where the animal had entered. He was very knowledgeable, efficient and courteous.

I called them at the end of the business day Thursday and left a voicemail. My call was immediately returned and someone was at the house the next morning. I explained the problems I was having. Zak did a thorough inspection in, below, and above my house and determined rats (the horror!) were the problem, not squirrels. He patched up several different areas on the outside of my house that he saw as possible entryways, then taught me how to set traps and where to place them. He was nice, thorough, and I appreciate his time and help, especially considering their organization is to remove wildlife, not to catch rats in my walls. I also now have peace of mind that my house is secure from other wildlife. They were great and I would highly recommend them.

They were good. They went up into our attic to look for the place through which the squirrels were getting in. They then set up traps for the squirrels. They also set up some kind of gates so that the squirrels couldn?t come back once they went out. They plugged up the rest of the holes and just left one open so that the squirrels could get out. My overall experience with them was good. I thought that the price that they charged was a bit high, as they used a certain seal to plug in the holes.

I had a squirrel(s?) that had chewed through the wood on the soffits above my garage. I called 911 wildlife and set up an appt. The gentlemen showed up the next day. He inspected the whole house and showed me other areas of entry to smaller rodents. I accepted the quote and he set the trap. I was assured that after 2 days the squirrel would have to leave to get water. I like the fact that the company uses the one way exit trap on the hole. I wouldn't have to wait for an animal(s) to be trapped and released. The animals left and I was able to repair the hole. Nice company. Their price was a lot less than using traps in the attic which exterminators have to revisit and check.
Description of Work: Jeff placed a one way trap to allow the squirrel(s) to escape and screened the area to prevent reentry. The house was inspected for additional entry points.

It went great. I was frustrated after having 6 entry holes repaired by a contractor 10 days earlier. Not contractors fault, his work done well. In Retrospect should have called 911 Wildlife first!! Their technician Robert did a Free inspection of the attic inside and outside. He found evidence that pointed to a Possum plus a dead squirrel. Robert recommended we leave the attic stairs in garage down, put a can of oily tuna near the top of stairs. Dust the stairs with flour and across garage exit. Left garage down up a foot. First night most of tuna eaten, no possum tracks. Second day, I soaked tennis b**** in ammonia, threw them in area where Robert had found signs of nesting. This time put tuna on second stair down from top. Next morning found evidence ot possum tracks on flour exiting garage. It looked like Possum went to get tuna, lost it's footing landed in garage then walked out. Robert and 911 Wildlife very professional, prompt and knowledgeable. No Charge for their Free Inspection and Ideas. Highly recommend them. We are now sleeping at night without being awaken by Noisy Possum or Critters.
Description of Work: Called 911 Wildlife, technician Robert came out and did a Free inspection. He found evidence of a Possum and also a dead squirrel. He gave us ideas on how to get Possum humanely out. They worked. We had our Squirrel damage repaired by an excellent other contractor to prevent entry to our attic. Had 6 entry points sealed. After attic entry points sealed we started hearing more critter noise in attic especially at 2-3 am. I suspected squirrels had been trapped there after repairs and were trying to get out. Tried getting rid of them my self, bought live animal trap. I was unsuccessful.

The technician detailed additional preventative measures to stop animals from getting in in the future, and showed us ways to do it ourselves or hire a handyman to save money. Technician took extra time to detail signs of other types of pests common in our neighborhood. In addition, he discussed safety considerations for pest control options around pets and children.
Description of Work: A squirrel was trapped in the vent over the microwave. Technician arrived in less than 30 minutes and safely removed and released the squirrel without harm in minutes. Technician waved the removal fee since we decided to have the whole house inspected and the entry point closed off the next day. Technician installed a one way door so squirrels can get out of the attic, which will be closed off completely after a few days once the technician is confident that any additional squirrels have left.

He spent at least 40 minutes talking with me and discussing these animals and if they could affect our dogs? health. He showed me what I could do to get the animals out from under the deck and keep them out or they could do the work for a fee. I offered to pay him for his services but he wouldn?t take any money. He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what to do and what to look for. They sent me an email the next day with more information that confirmed what I had been told and it included links to even more information. I was amazed with the service and how much they care about the animals.

I was sitting in my chair minding my own business when a small opossum toddled out from one of my closets, took one look at me and ran right back in! YIKES! I immediately contacted 911 Wildlife and they sent someone right over. The opossum had apparently been hanging out in the closet for a couple of days, (probably came in the cat door) and noshing on the dry cat food. 911 Wildlife removed him very gently, gave me a bit of an education on these critters (like they have loads of teeth but really can't bite, are not prone to rabies and are beneficial urban dwellers) and even the chance to pet him. The critter was released outside where he belongs and he scampered off. 911 Wildlife, at part of the service, then checked my entire home to make sure there weren't any other ways he could have gotten in and made suggestions on some improvements I could make. Excellent Company and the technician was as nice as he could be. AND I learned something! This company is totally no kill and will help remove most of anything that gets in your home. They really appreciate that as city dwellers we do indeed live with wildlife and help us all live together better!

Robert called me on his way over and showed up promptly. He was very knowledgeable, and had the coolest gadgets! He successfully extricated the eastern sparrows from my wall, and cleaned up the mess. We thought we had gotten all the birds out, and went on his way. About 20 minutes later, I heard another bird in the wall, and called him back. He returned to my home shortly, and located another bird -- all the while apologizing profusely that he had missed one. (Who knew the little birds could be so tricky?) As an added bonus, he performed a perimeter check on my home and pointed out potential problem areas and solutions to address them. I cannot believe that the cost was only $75 for all he did within 3 hours. Plus he was a really great guy -- quite entertaining!
Description of Work: I called 911Wildlife just a few minutes before they closed on the Friday for July 4th holiday weekend. Someone called me back right away, and arranged for someone to be at my home at 9 a.m. the next day (July 4th!) I had birds IN my walls -- behind the sheetrock -- not in the chimney. I have a 1929 Tudor.

I recently purchased a foreclosure that had been vacant for over a year. So, when I moved in and heard sounds in my subfloor, I thought squirrels had gotten in there. After doing allot of research on the Web, I called several area pest control companies. The other companies were either much more money, didn't have a logical plan on how to extract the pests (since they weren't in the attic), and/or didn't include sealing up the entry points (what good is that!?). I'm so glad I chose 911 Wildlife. First, Robert told me they weren't squirrels, they were rats (yuk!!). He was very knowledgeable and explained his plan to get them to leave voluntarily -- he soaked tennis b**** in ammonia and threw them into the areas where I heard them at night. Tennis b**** because they're easier to throw where you need them, ammonia because it kills the sense of smell which is vital to animals to detect predators and find food. Most did leave (and took the babies with them), but a few still stayed behind. Robert told me that 911 Wildlife was a "no kill" organization so he couldn't set out any poison himself, but he told me what to do and saved me hundreds of dollars. Then, when there were no more sounds coming from the subfloor, he came back and sealed all the openings. I am so grateful for the wonderful service, patient and thorough explanations, and overall great experience.
Description of Work: 911 Wildlife got rid of the "critters" living in my subfloor (the space between my first and second floor).
