+ -1 moreI purchased the big deal coupon for this service. They did a very good job and they were very helpful too. I would recommend them. They didn’t do any repairs at the time. However my condenser did freeze up and they had to come back, and they didn’t charge me for that call. They did a very good job. Eventually I’m going to have to have the whole unit, which is going to cost a lot of money, but at that point of time they didn’t need to replace anything.

+ -1 moreI called to setup the appointment. They were able to work around my availability. The day came for the service and they called to cancel because of the rain. I did understand their reason for canceling. They worked with me on the next window of opportunity. The service check took about 10 min. The technician said that everything was good, but I was low on Freon. He said price per pounds was $55. I thought it was a little expensive but I really do not know the going rate for Freon so I let him do the job. That took about 10 minutes.

+ -1 moreThe technicians called ahead that they were on the way and they arrived on time. This was a great start! Once at the site, the techs then checked the units outside and the blowers inside. I accompanied one of the gentleman as he told me how my units were performing and which readings were good/bad/indifferent. The tech went on to recommend some maintenance, which I will consider in the future. The techs also told me a few things I can do inside to help distribute my cool air more evenly. The techs were nice guys, I was happy with their service and would likely call them back if I was in need of further service.
Description of Work: The company did an A/C seasonal check on my two units on both the inside and out.

+ -1 moreOverall, the service once the tech arrived was great! I originally ordered this service as a "Angie's List Deal" so that I would get a discounted rate on the a/c tune up itself. When it was all said and done the service itself would have been cheaper had I not purchase the "Angie's List Deal." I'm confused how that all work out but ultimately not as happy that I could have gone straight through the dispatcher from the company instead. I did call ahead prior to purchasing the deal to check availability but nothing was mentioned of booking through the dispatcher.

+ -1 moreThey arrived ahead of schedule, and I described what I was hearing, and at what point in the furnace's cycle. They checked everything, and said the furnace was functioning properly. They searched for the source of the vibration we were hearing, but were unable to discern it. They were very polite, and made every effort to find it. I will call them again, should I ever need help with the furnace.
Description of Work: I had begun hearing an unfamiliar sound coming from my furnace, and I called to have someone look at it.

+ -1 moreOnce I discovered I had major issues with my A/C, I decided to get quotes from three HVAC companies to get the best deal. 1st Class Heat and Air offered me the best deal (and services). They sent out a professional salesman to walk me through the installation process. They were able to install a 16 seer A/C system the next day. I was very happy with the quality of the product, the installation process, and the follow up. But most importantly, going from a 10 SEER to a 16 SEER, I was very happy with saving 31% on my electric bill during the summer months. If I had it to do over, I would use 1st Class Heat and Air again.

Received a call at 11:05 if they could come early. unfortunately, I was not home and told them I would be home in 30-40 minutes. I was reassured they would still be there on time and they arrived pretty much right at noon. The tech, Perry, was extremely courteous and the issue was resolved in about 1.5 hours, this included a check on both of my systems. He made sure I was completely happy. He tried to be as non-pushy as possible, but made sure I understood that my system is old and should really be replaced. I know this and I will certainly get a quote from them when I am ready to do that

I choose 1st Class Air, because of their superior ratings. I was so pleased I called them around 1:00pm, and they were able to get a technician out that same day. They were very punctual and were able to fix my air in less than 30 minutes! I strongly recommend 1st Class Air to anyone who is looking for a Company for their airconditioning needs.Two thumbs up for 1st Class Air!Fran!
Description of Work: 1st Class Air determined that the capacitor had gone out on our airconditioning unit. They had the part on the truck, and was able to replace the old one with a new one, in less than 30 minutes!! My total bill was only 187.00. I couldn't beleive it!

He gave me tips on who to save energy and money with our grueling summers. Though I have not had major repair done on my unit, I would definitely call Art and give him the 1st option to fix our problem.
Description of Work: A/C check-up (39.95 1st unit/ 39.90 each additional unit). Check freon, coils, lubricate motors, etc.

+ -1 moreIn a word - AMAZING. Let me preface this review by saying that this is Texas - and summer. It was 105 degrees on Sunday afternoon. Our AC went out at 2 AM Sunday morning. I called our home warranty company (Fidelity) to request a service call. I explainedto them the urgency of the situation, as we have an infant in the house, and did not want to expose him to the excessive temps. They were absolutley inept at getting me any help, even after being assured in 4 separate calls to get a status update - and being told they would be right on it. They didnt. On the last call around 2 PM, they said as a "courtesy" they would allow me to call and find my own service. I am very happy I did. On a Sunday afternoon, from the time I made the call to the job completion - was less than an hour. The gentleman showed up promplty, assessed the situation, called my warranty to get authorization, did the work and was done. Our air is working perfectly now. I truly appreciate the extra level of care and concern, the speed, professionalism, and the customer service. I will definitely use them again for any AC needs.

+ -1 moreI enjoyed the service guy who came out to do the service. They came out and replaced the unit the same day. However the installers were a couple of hours late over their advertised time. They came at 9.30 at night and worked till 4.30 in the morning to get it immediately done so that was pretty impressive. It’s the best piece I found in Dallas and Frisco, Texas. They are worth working in to getting a quote from them before planning with somebody else.

+ -1 moreA/C stopped blowing cold around midnight. First thing this morning I called A#1 because they had come out before. After 15 minutes on the phone with them trying to get me to buy stuff and commit to spending X amount of dollars BEFORE scheduling a technician to come out, I finally hung up. I checked Angies List and found 1st Class Heat & Air. I called around 8:45am. They quickly scheduled a technician to come out and told me that they would call when he was 20-30 minutes away so I had time to get home from work. About 15 minutes later, they called and said he was on the way. I rushed home and he was waiting in front of my house when I got there. Ben was courteous and didn't mind me asking lots of questions. He had my A/C blowing cold in only 30 minutes. I was back on the road to work by 10:30am. I really appreciated the fast response and so glad that my A/C unit is running like new again!

+ -1 moreHad them out for a maintenance call. One of my units had absolutely no freon...had a bad coil in the attic. $2,500 seems like a lot for just a coil...but, I could be wrong. Not really sure how that compares to other service companies. I will tell you they were great to work with, fixed it the same day and came out later that same day when I had a concern over something. They rechecked everything and since then it has been good to go.

+ -1 moreFantastic! This was by far the best experience we have ever had with a heating and air conditioning company - rescuing us from what promised to be the worst experience we have ever had!
Description of Work: Our AC system failed sometime Friday, May 18, 2012. The earliest our previous company could send anyone was Saturday afternoon. The technician said the control board had failed and the fan motor was also probably defective. He said there was no way to check the dual speed fan motor without replacing the circuit board. He quoted 4 - 5 days to order and get both parts from Carrier or an additional 4 - 5 days if we waited for the circuit board before ordering the fan motor. He quoted $328 for the board and between $1900 and $2600 for the motor (50% discount because of our Platinum membership!). He clearly was pushing us to buy a new system - displayed a graph that showed it is unwise to spend more than $325 to repair an eight year old system. I asked to get a quote and he arranged to have a sales person here that evening. I decided that it makes no sense to work with a company that does not sell Carrier equipment so I did a Google search and found 1st Class Heating and Air. Checked Angie's list and found their superior rating. Called them and was told that they would have a technician here within an hour - who would be able to tell within a few minutes whether the fan motor was good or bad. He arrived on time and had test equipment that he connected to the fan module. The fan motor operated on slow speed so he said the problem was in the module, not the motor. He obtained the replacement module and circuit board early Monday morning; got them installed; discovered miss-wiring at the compressor; corrected that, and had us fully operational before 11:00 AM!

+ -1 moreThe First Class team was excellent from start to finish. The fact that they have evening appointments and a $39.99 promotion for a service call was what initially led me to call. Sure glad we did. Anthony came to our home (he even arrived early and was waiting when we arrived!), inspected our compressor and furnace and ran a few tests that quickly identified the problem. Our AC was blowing but was not cold at all...during the hottest summer in 75 years...luckily it was a simple, frozen coil and nothing more (CLEAN YOUR AIR FILTERS!!). The fact that they were so straight-forward and honest with their inspection and repair means we will call them in the future for any repairs or for when our 15 year-old unit finally dies. Highly recommended.

+ -1 moreAfter 6:00pm on a Friday and our AC was blowing hot air. Could not contact any AC companpies until 1st Class answered. They were backed up with calls but said they could come later. The tech didn't show up till almost 11:00pm, but he was cheerful and professional when he did. He found the problem in no time and set everything up for the repairs to be done first thing in the morning. When the crew showed up they were neat, clean and very friendly. They got the new pipe installed in no time, cleaned everything up spotlessly, and charged us the exact amount of the quote... no hidden charges or add-ons. This was, by far, the best AC company that we ever did business with. Update! Art from First Class AIr just came out to do our free heat checkup for the winter. My husband just died, so Art changed the filter for me, and even made some adjustments so that the air flow was better. If you are considering this company, you will not be dissapointed!
Description of Work: The very cheerful and professional tech came after hours. He asked some questions, checked a few things and accurately found the problem inside the wall. He said that the freon feeder pipe had to be replaced, gave us a quote, and set up the work to be done the following morning. Total cost for the emergency visit was $39.90.
