I originally called Kitchens for A/C repair and in the process it became apparent that the system required replacement. I requested a bid for condenser, evaporator coil, plenum, and installation. The Kitchens representative provided a bid on very low quality equipment for a very high price. In fact, in comparing the bid with other contractors for the same work, it was apparent that the representative added the amount of my home warranty reimbursement to his bid rather than deducting it from the total cost. I do not know if this was intentional, but when I attempted to nail down the bid price to specifics, the representative was vague. At this point, I paid Kitchens for the temporary repair and looked for another contractor.
Description of Work: Repair A/C system that was not cooling. Provided bid for a new system, when it became apparent that the system could not be repaired.

The tech was smart and analytical, and did a very good job of diagnosing the problem and showing me the leak although he was VERY hard to understand. He said so little the first part of the visit that I wasn't sure he understood me or spoke English. He did, but without consonants. However, he clarified by spelling (at my insistence) and excellent pencil drawings. I also asked about maintenance agreements and coil cleaning, and his quotes, after agonizing clarification, were stunningly expensive ($250 per evaporator box coil & $125 per condenser before even being able to begin a main agreement). He explained with excellent diagrams why my coils are hard to clean and said that once under maintenance there would be a 50% "discount" but the next company I called was half as much for the same cleaning at their regular rates +a %10 discount with maintenance agreement immediately available upon starting the agreement. Thanks but no thanks, Kitchen's!
Description of Work: "QN" (Quan?) examined A/C condensate pipe for leaks. Diagnosed (correctly) leak in roof around plumbing pipe that the plumber had not found.
