This company was referred to us by our insurance company. Travis was suppose to come out and give us an estimate on 11-7-2016 between noon and 1pm. My husband took off work to meet him at our home. Finally, at 1:20 my husband called the office number and was told that they would he in touch with him. When he called he said he was in the middle of an emergency job and couldn't make it and did not have time to call and let us know that he couldn't make it. After several attempts to find out when he WOULD be able to come out he finally agreed to 5pm today (11-8). My husband called him at 4pm to be sure he would be here at 5:00: he said he would be here AT 5:00. So...at 5:45 this evening my husband called the office number and Travis answered and said he was in the middle of a job and would not be here tonight and even if he weren't in the middle of a job he wouldn't be here because he wouldn't get home until 9pm and that was too late. My husband said he could at least have called to let us know that he would not be coming. He said he was busy and didn't have time to call us. My husband asked for the owner of the company. He said the owner has nothing to do with the company. My husband then asked for the manager and Travis said that HE was the supervisor and he runs the company. He said he would come out in the morning and my husband told him that wouldn't work (more unpaid time off work!?) and Travis said that he couldn't do business with us then, have a good evening, and hung up. Calling our insurance company and writing a review first thing tomorrow in Angie's List. Also filing a complaint with the BBB. So, here we sit with mold up to our eyeballs.

We had a water leak in the dining room kitchen wall. We had to replace part of the wall. There was clean up and part of the wood floor had to be replaced. They were excellent. They were prompt in all of their appointments and did everything that we asked. They were very professional. They had a supervisor that checked in on the job on a daily basis. They had a foreman on the job the whole time leading the crew of them. We had 2 companies that were suggested by our insurance carrier and we took those 2 and checked them on Angie's List. I think this one had a better rating on Angie's List.

Choosing Classic Restoration Contractors to do the repairs on my house was a huge mistake. They deceived me from the beginning, saying that they did not use sub-contractors for anything except plumbing(they later admitted that they used sub-contractors for tile and cabinetry work). They said the work would be done before Christmas. The majority of the work was not finished until January, the final fixes were not completed until mid-February. | |They provided workmanship that varied from good to very poor(their tile sub-contractor was awful). They flat out lied to my face about what had been agreed to as equivalent exchange for insurance covered work. They attempted to charge me for work that was not done and overcharge me for work that was(though they backed down when I confronted them about their "mistakes"). | |The owner John, is a VERY smooth-talker, but can not be trusted. The project manager for my job, James, was simply inept in just about every way. He provided little to no supervision to the workers, actually WENT ON VACATION OUT OF TOWN during the course of the job, and complained to my husband about me. | |CRC eventually re-did the the repairs that had been done most shoddily, but not without a fight.

I hired Classic Restoration shortly after my home had caught fire. I called my insurance company, and was given their name as one of the builders they work with. After my initial meeting with Hohn Shoemaker, I felt much more at ease with this disaster. He had a lot of experience with the whole insurance process and was able to walk me through it step by step. In the first few minutes of our meeting he called and scheduled the people who salvaged my remaining furniture and other house hold items. They were there that day to pack my stuff and store it for me, they even made repairs to items I thought were damaged beyond repairing. John wrote his estimate on site and reviewed it with me, before he left my home. He was not able to start right away, but did get me on his schedule within 2 weeks. A week later I meet Jim Grove my job supervisor and he went over everything with me and helped outline the decisions I had to make, flooring, painting, trim etc. I had a crew of 6 men going through my disaster zone of a home, tearing walls down, hauling out trash, and cleaning up. By the end of the day , I could see the concrete foundation, it almost looked like my house was in the process of being built for the first time. In 27 days I was moving back into my beautiful, practically brand new home. I can't say enough about how happy I am I went with Classic Restoration. I would recommend them to anyone who has a flood or fire, and if I knew about them and I remodeled my kitchen a year before they would have done that work also! Classic Restoration handled everything from beginning to end and even worked with my insurance adjuster to get additional items paid for.

When I woke up the morning of 10/24, I was swimming in water - a complete homeowners nightmare ! I knew that my best choice would be to go with a general contractor. I'm glad that I went with 'Classic', and appreciate all the loose ends they tied up for me. In a way, being a G.C. is like being an orchestral conductor, only it's the sounds of saws, power drills, paint brushes and wrenches that come together in harmony. I knew that I was in good care with this company, and I let them do all the worrying while I made all the "executive decisions". They worked very h****** my home to bring it back to where it was prior to "the great flood". The cabinets look spectacular, the countertops are perfect, the paint brightens up everything, and the floors are "wow". I certainly will call upon them in the future for other home repair projects!!

After John came to do measurements for bid he said it would take 2 days for an estimate. Almost a month to the day later we finally received an estimate via email. I called at least 5 times to his business and left messages to call me back. I should have known better and not let them do the job for lack of response. He said they could do the job in 2 days. It was a small job so I thought no big deal. Needless to say the work performed was subpar. I asked that a final walk-through be done for inspection. Nobody came out after 4 weeks and 4 failed attempts to get someone to come look at the job performed. Drywall is cracked and the painting looks like my child did it with his water coloring set. After 4 weeks of no responses from messages I left with his office I finally received a bill for 30% more than what was originally quoted. He presents himself as being the owner of a company with many workers but in reality all he is a contractor that subcontracts all work he gets. He has the audacity to bill me for "General Conractor Overhead @ 10%" and another line item for "General Contractor Profit @ 10%" So he charges me for making a profit over the profit he already made on the job performed. Amazing. Consumers please stay away from this unethical person and business.

Our insurance picked up the cost so we only had to pay the deductable but I thought the price seemed high. Everything went fine and the guy that did the original survey was very professional. People came and went and we couldn?t do it all at once so it was annoying but there is nothing we can do about that. Overall, I liked them and I don?t have any complaints.
Description of Work: Our hot water heater burst so our downstairs was flooded. Classic Restoration Contractors replaced a vanity sink, they replaced some drywall, they replaced the tile on the floor, they replaced the carpeting in the hall closet and a bedroom, and they did some touch up painting. They replaced all of the cut-off valves throughout the house with a more modern version. They installed an electronic device that will warn us if the hot water heater starts to back up again.

It's impossible to explain how much went wrong in this process. Terrible communication, overbidding and unspecific pricing, no-shows, work incomplete, shoddy work performed, demands for more money when work hadn't been performed in months, lies about permits pulled (resulting in endless battles with the city and other contractors) -- the list goes on. Contractor bought another business during the course of work for us, and everything went south -- we were no longer any kind of priority to him. This job was ignored and we were abused as clients for over 18 months.

They did a wonderful job. They were excellent. It was a mess before they started and they cleaned it up. We had already done some cleaning.
Description of Work: I had another insurance claim and half of the garage ceiling needed to be replaced. They replaced that half of the ceiling in the garage. We also had to rip up the carpet. My son and I had done a lot of the stuff because we had time and it was on a weekend. They weren t sure that was covered by insurance.

This was the first time I'd ever experienced anything like this - needing to have major restoration work because of a water leak... CRC was very easy to work with. Because of personal issues, I wanted to wait 6 weeks until they would start work - CRC had no problems with that - they just removed the damaged flooring and did not pressure me to start the remodeling job earlier. John Shoemaker from CRC was my contact - he was always available, returned my phone calls personally, and monitored progress daily. Every day a little more got done - never was there a standstill. John told me what to expect and how long everything would take. He coordinated the work with the flooring company - I never had to mediate - all that was taken care of for me. When I asked if my old sink could be resurfaced, he did the research and found that buying a new sink would be a better investment. I had no time to look for sinks and faucets, so I asked him to find me a sink and faucet under a certain price and he did! (And I really like it!) I needed to choose new countertop material - I received many choices and was not pressured to make a decision too quickly. The new sink cupboard matches the existing cupboards beautifully; you'd never know it has been replaced. John's workers were attentive to details and took pride in their work. John did not have anything done without my okay; so really, there were no surprises. I had a very very positive experience and have already hired them to do another job for me which was not an insurance claim.
Description of Work: I employed CRC for an insurance claim; a water leak affected kitchen, pantry, laundry room, dining area and living room. CRC built a new cupboard for the sink to replace the water damaged one to match existing cupboards, removed and revarnished the existing cupboard doors and drawers and then reinstalled them to match the new sink cupboard, installed a new sink and faucet (my purchase), picked up and installed a new dishwasher (my purchase), installed new countertops (old one couldn't be matched), drywall, paint, finishing touches to new flooring (done by another company).
